Got to see a shadowcast of Rocky Horror over the weekend, seeing the whole thing end to end for the first time, and then watched Shock Treatment with some of the cast.
Rocky Horror Picture Show: Pretty great film, part of the iconic crop from the 70s where they went all in on style instead of realism. Lots of fun, and some great music. I wish the climax had just a little bit more denouement, but judging by the ending narration, it's deliberate that it leaves you feeling a bit empty afterwards. 9.5/10
Shock Treatment: This film doesn't deserve to be so maligned; I see it as suffering the same issues as Lost World did. You follow up one of the most beloved films in the history of Hollywood with something... Pretty good, but everybody was expecting another revolutionary work. That said, it actually is quite solid satire with some killer music, and manages to lampoon a lot of issues that have grown in the time since (reality TV/reality TV stars, the psychiatric "industry" that pushes diagnoses and medicating problems away even when it hurts people, Donald Trump). I have to say it's a solid 8/10 (I just wish they'd had more exposition in the songs, and a bit more involved of a climax, after the shock and awe that was the end of Rocky)

I made out with Brad. (Who might have been my girlfriend in double recursive drag, but I digress.)
