I disagree with your Hangover 2 rating. Biscuit and I saw it together and while we both agree that it was funny, we also agreed that it was the same fucking movie except not as good because you knew to expect all the ridiculousness. That's actually what you said. Again, I covered that. Why fix something that isn't broken when there is a risk at changing if you DON'T know the outcome? People loved it because it was the same shit. I thought I just said that, but I guess I needs to be said again.

People loved it because it was the same shit. I thought I just said that, but I guess I needs to be said again. Well obviously I feel that something needs to be changed because I didn't love it. I loved the first one. I thought this one was just ok. I thought I just said that, but I guess I needs to be said again. Why fix something that isn't broken when there is a risk at changing if you DON'T know the outcome? Because that's what taking risks means? So you can appease people like me that say they're just doing the same thing they did last time? So you can innovate instead of imitate?

Unforgiven - 9.5/10
Clint Eastwood is astounding in this film. Gene Hackman is incredible. The way all the characters spin stories about each other so that no one is really sure what's truth and what's myth anymore, that really pulled me in. It's a slow movie but the end is a sudden and violent thing that really fits the whole thing together.
EDIT: I also loved how, by the end of the film, there's no definite answer to who's a good guy and who's bad. Very good stuff.

i know everyone here has to have seen the last harry potter movie by now. Thoughts, opinions, comments, questions?
I never read the second half of the last book because the first part was so boring, but i thought the movie was pretty entertaining. The color palette was so dark for most of the movie that I think my vision deteriorated, and the epilogue was completely unnecessary in my opinion, but otherwise I had a lot of fun!

I have not seen any of the HP movies. I read the books until the fifth one because my grandmother kept buying them for me.

Cowboys and Aliens - 8/10
This was a great summer film. Daniel Craig plays another badass. Harrison Ford plays an older badass. Olivia Wilde is hot. Cowboys and indians shoot aliens and each other. My only complaints are kind of spoilers so I won't get into it too deeply. I'll just say there's suspension of disbelief and then there's asking too much of your audience. If you see the movie, you'll probably know which part I'm talking about. Also, the aliens seemed to vary a bit in durability. Some were seen as taking several bullets from pistols and/or rifles while some were taken down with just a spear or a club. Nothing that really took away from my enjoyment, just something I noticed.
I wish Olivia Wilde had gotten naked or at least wore a corset.

Black Swan - 9/10
I would recommend anything by Aronofsky even if I hadn't seen it because I know it will have sweet music and a crazy plot. Although, I don't feel like this movie is perfect, but I can't say why, so maybe I'm wrong.
Maybe it was because the lesbian scene terrified me.

Seconding Ninety's 8/10 rating for Cowboys & Aliens. Anything with Harrison Ford and Daniel Craig is automatically fantastic, but aside from that, I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. I was expecting mind-numbing mediocrity. What I got was great acting and a pretty solid plot. And Daniel Craig. Mmm. Overall it was quite enjoyable.
(But that one part. Yeah. We were like WHAT WHY when that happened. I still don't even know.)

Primer - 8/10
I'll bump it up to a 10/10 when I watch it a couple more times and finally understand what's going on.
But yeah, great acting (they are only slightly less confused about how to handle WTS than the audience) great cinematography, great execution on WTS, and only hampered by a super unclear plot. Also the technobabble almost made sense.

Sherlock Holmes 2 - 6.5/10
Now, we're getting a little closer to the essense of Sherlock Holmes stories...and as a bonus, they actually had a small handful of references to Arthur Conan Doyle's stories...yet it's still wrong. Too much action, too many firefights...it just doesn't feel right. If they had called the movie something entirely difference, it would've gotten a solid 9 from me.

I had a field day with Netflix yesterday with action movies because I wanted stuff to provide sound while I worked on other stuff.
Ironclad - 3/5 Gory action fest of a magnificent seven holding a castle against that wacky King John. I was satisfied, and bonus points for the main character using his greatsword more properly than usually portrayed in that he actually did the whole grab-halfway-up-and-use-as-dagger and turn-upside-down-and-use-as-hammer things during the fight scenes. Other than that, terrible romance subplot and shallow characters, but that's okay because everyone died at the end (spoilers).
Centurion - 2/5 Gory action fest about the ninth legion. Less interesting than ironclad because these cats weren't as good with their weapons and the blood was downright ridiculous (300 levels of splatter). Also had shallow characters, but the romance subplot was a) less important and b) a bit more natural, so I guess bonus points for that? (and bonus points for everyone dying at the end, spoilers)
The Patriot - 4/5 I kind of love this movie, and bonus points for being a gory action fest about the American revolution. Musket accuracy doesn't make any sense in this movie, but I forgive it.

You should watch 13 Assassins. It's more of the whole magnificent seven type stuff except with samurai. Lots of gore but it's realistic-ish. It's also one of the best movies I've seen.
9/10

DKR - 9/10
The Star Wars analogy perfectly suits this movie. The first one does something original and amazing, he second one is the best of the bunch, and the third ties it all together in the best way. On its own, it's a little faulty - the weight of its own mythos forces Nolan to jump from scene to scene frenetically, desperately trying to wrap up his story in the short time he has. But wrap it up he does, and (in my opinion) he does so perfectly. Is it better than Dark Knight? Hayl naw. But it's the best movie that could have been made for this trilogy.
A 10/10 rating could not be had because of things I can't mention without spoiling. So.
