Jake Gyllenhaal is not an action star.

Giratina and the Sky Warrior. Pretty good movie, but not my favorite 6/10
Pokemon Ranger and the Temple/Prince of the Sea.... Never have I been on the edge of my seat crying because I felt so attached to a Pokemon. I literally wanted a Manaphy of my own so that I could raise it, and love it, and teach it to talk and say that it loves me. Besides that, I always get emotional when a movie shows the ties between with a Parent and the child... because I'm so attached to my Mother. Soooo, all in all I have a biased score of 8/10.

The Usual Suspects - 9/10
Good times. Totally saw the end coming, but not the climax, but figuring everything out made me feel smart. Ha I know film techniques and foreshadowing i'm a genius.

the usual suspects is a good movie but i've never seen it completely sober so I always get confused about whats going on.
I watched The Informant with my parents a couple days ago. it was alright, Matt Damon did a good job doing the things he does and Scott Bakula was in it.

Saw Prince of Persia: Sands of Time the other day with Bethany, her bro, and some of her friends. Pretty good movie, IMO. Could be better, though, and it reminded me of the ending of a Tomb Raider movie that I saw a while back. Overall, though 7/10.
Out of curiosity, downloading the game to see how it is and how the movie compares right now.

Inception: 8/10 I absolutely love love loved the concept but I don't think it satisfied its potential all the way, but that's just because the concept of dreams is so amazing and needs to be played with more. Also, it was overhyped by people who haven't seen a good movie in ages. Nolan needs his brother on writing again, too. And someone to work on scene timing. Also there needed to be more zero-G fighting, and that's a fact. Needs more Ellen Page being cute and less awkward Page/DiCaprio chemistry, too. PS. now that sweet dream world has been in movies, there goes my future plot of entering someone's dream to _____________.

inception was alright. it had a lot of cool ideas but all in all the movie seemed kind of lifeless. ellen page is the cutest thing in the world though.

I should change Inception's score to 9/10, with that extra point coming from Ellen Page.

Extract 7/10.
It's no Office Space but Judge made a good'un. Plus, Mila Kunis is champion status in this flick.
Oh, I guess Dirty Harry is actually the last movie I saw. 8/10. Scorpio had crazy eyes and it's highly unsettling to see Clint Eastwood as a young man, especially when the last Eastwood movie you saw was Gran Torino.
He's a racist in both though!

Kick-Ass: 6/10
Great action sequences. Wonderful filming and editing. Mostly amazing characters. Good, though inconsistent, deconstruction. Terrible terrible romance and scripted awkwardness ruined the movie.
Hit Girl is exactly who Rie wants to be when she grows up.

Metropolis: 4/10
The art threw me off when it started, but then I started to dig it and it was pretty. The music was great. The story was a pretty standard cyberpunk deal. Luke made me want to shit in my face at how terrible of an antagonist he was. His main motivation is daddy issues? Aaaaand why else is he absolutely psychotic? And he has nothing to help make him more than a 1D fail-daddy-pleasing-machine? Just making him a robot would have made him so much more compelling and sense-making. In general, the movie felt like a really old movie with a confusingly told plot and wonky editing and general mistakes made back in the day.

I thought his name was "Rock".
Anyway I loved that movie. It's true the story wasn't outstanding (one of the rare tales in which the heroes are more interesting than the villains), but the film just oozed with style. And yeah, the music kicks ass.

Top Dog:
I'll just let this IMDB review speak for me: "This was the best movie i have ever seen in the last 25 years. It's plot and acting is excellent. Kept me on the edge of my chair the whole time except when i was falling down due to the great witty humor of Chuck Norris. I would suggest this movie to anyone. It also posses' a great anti-racist theme. Certain hilarious scenes included the scene where the super smart dog steals Norris' chicken resulting in a great response from Norris, "That's my chicken you mangy mutt!" I was also taken back by the horrifying, true to life, depiction of racist factions in the United States. I shook in horror as the racist leader shot a manikin depicting an ethnic person, yelling, "That is a miss! This is a hit!" I saw many striking parts of the plot like the Neo-Nazi attempt to blow up a building on Hitler's birthday. Through pure genius Norris discovers their intent and foils their plans. This movie is pure genius and i'm sure it will excite audiences for years to come! 9/10"

2/10
Shaky camera and bad bad plot do not want. Also there was maybe one really cool part in the entire movie.

Rocky IV - 6/10
Compared to my expectations, it turned out to be better than I thought it'd be. Bonus points for them using actual russian in certain parts (despite horrendous grammar, at times)

Watched a bunch of movies on the plane from Copenhagen to Chicago.
Despicable Me - 8/10 I feel like such a pansy getting hit by all the heartwarming lines and almost tearing up even though they were all pretty expected. Oh well.
Solaris - 5/10 I was hoping for witty George Clooney, not moody George Clooney. Pretty cool plot and idea, but the execution and characters were lacking. Mostly the pacing was weird. The first night of sleep was done amazingly well though. So much tension.
LotR: Fellowship of the Ring - 8/10 It was pretty great that they played this on the plane. Made time go by so much faster. Anyway, it was pretty great. Action scenes were just as good as I remember them. The rest of the movie was pretty cool and really pretty, even with the shitty plane screens. I don't understand why people are mad that they left out scenes, though, since the movie already has too much stuff in it.

Shutter Island - 5/5
Despite the fact that I called the ending halfway through the film I was still blown away. The cinematography, the dialogue, the performances: all stellar. Scorcese is one of the few directors that can establish an atmosphere in the first minute of the film and make it persist in every minute after. Can't really recommend this higher.

I disliked Shutter Island because I called the ending when I saw the previews like 3 months prior. I liked it but it woulda been better if they hadn't hyped the shit outta it.
If any of you like shitty B movies like I do (I grew up watching MST3000. Sue me) I highly recommend Piranha 3D. My wife and I got drunk and watched it; we laughed our fucking asses off.

The Karate Kid (2010 version) - 2/5
Oh boy, this a piece of work! First of all, it's 2 1/2 hours long. That's unnecessary. It also did nothing to relieve my general distaste for films that revolve around child actors and child actors as a whole. I appreciate the call-back to the original in the final scene but, let's be honest, the original isn't that great. It's just campy and that's why we like it. The last kick was pretty dope and the fights were more intense than I expected but that was a regrettably small portion of the film.
The final song is Will Smith Jr. rapping on a J. Bieber track.
EDIT: Oh yeah. They introduce this kid about 15 minutes in that you think is going to be lil' Will's best and only friend in the whole wide world, only to find out that's his only real scene in the movie. He just fades into the background despite the fact he was one of only two people to be nice to lil' Will once he got to the Far East.

Netflix has been distracting me today.
Don't Look Now - 4/5
This film holds a special place in my heart. It's one of few that has ever terrified me (as an adult, anyway. It scared the shit out of me as a child and I had nightmares for years after). There's just an uneasy air that slowly grows as the film goes on until it's all released in the final moments. I couldn't sleep the night I first saw it.

Watched The Boondock Saints last night at like 5am - 8.5/10
An excellent movie in my opinion. Gets a bit obscure, but... The overall idea of it is pretty awesome. Nothing overly amazing, no overly trained "professionals" no cheezy explosions...Just three dudes doing what the police is unable to do.

Eraserhead - ?/5
I have no fucking clue how I feel about this movie other than it was deeply disturbing. I don't think I've ever felt such unease when watching a movie. I guess I like it in that it was able to invoke such an intense emotion in me. I don't think I'd watch it again though.
