It was really cheesy. Really good, too.
Oh, also the Vortex changed their menu. They have a bigger burger, now.

It's a $25 burger.
I remember something about TWO fried eggs and TEN slices of bacon.

My new apartment is a block away from this great burger place called Cuatro's. My favorite so far is the Burger for Breakfast. 1/2 lb all beef patty, fried egg, bacon, hashbrowns, cheese, and salsa on a warm and toasty bun. Then there's the Pica with jalapenos and melted cheese and such. I forgot the name of my other favorite but it's got avocado on it and avocado is a +1 buff on all sandwiches just as bacon is a +3.

Avocado, bacon, and ciabatta bread are automatic sandwich buffs.
+5 to sandwich.

Man, I'm so hungry. I don't want to spend any money before I leave for home but I'm out of bread, cereal, and ready-to-bake pizzas. I think it's time I go back to the Conoco down the road with the gas card my parents pay for and get a few more days' supplies.
I want another Cuatro's burger before I leave though.

Holy margins, Batman...

My sandwich was too manly to be constrained by margins. If there had been bacon on it I'm pretty sure the restaurant would've been destroyed.

Somebody at the supermarket tried to stop me yesterday to have me take a five-minute survey on bacon. Had I not been in a rush, I would have loved to take it...what do you ASK in a bacon survey, anyways? Do you like your bacon crispy or chewy? Do you microwave it or fry it?

It's about time that I join the fad. This sandwich and it's twin were peanut butter and homemade grape jelly on potato rolls (the tiny half hamburger bun sized ones). Lord I love this stuff.

Do you microwave it or fry it? I thought microwaving bacon was illegal.

The reason I always run out of bread now; is that in january my house/best mate and I bought a 4 sandwich toastie maker. However after deciding I wanted a more insanely delicious sandwich I resurrected Daisy, the cow shaped toastie maker. 3 slice toasties, 4 fillings per layer, no problem =)
Its insane, I've taken to putting it on top of a plate so anything that drips out can be dip, lots of cheese leaks a bit

Peanut butter, jalapeno jelly, whole wheat bread. Not shabby, though I'm not sure if chunky peanut butter would be better or worse.
(Also, toast with kalamata olive spread isn't too bad.)

The Big Dirty. Oh man, is this thing good. It's from the same place as that chicken bacon guac sandwich I posted earlier: Jax Hamburgers. 1/3lb (or 1/2lb if you're crazy) burger with guacamole, pico de gallo, sautéed mushrooms, grilled onions, jalapeños, topped with shredded American cheese on jalapeño buns (yes, there are two buns in that picture) and served with those oh-so-delicious fries. Mmm-mmmm. That is a tasty burger.

Speaking of sandwiches, why am I the only one who thinks that it's ok to have the cheese on top of an open face sandwich to turn golden brown (or even burn just a little) when under a broiler?
