Give it a fucking rest Babs. We are not attacking you, just the fact that Prime was banned. If you happen to be on the side for banning him then I guess you could say we are attacking you even though we are attacking the point you stand for. Again I'm sorry for the language.

Ok Loogs I never said people couldn't fight with me, I simply advised against it. Then in that case, people should also take in regard Babs' feelings. I hate it when people think it's ok to hurt someone's feelings just because it's the internet. "The other admins" is Lee. I think you mean the rest of the staff. And yes, we already do that in a place called the Coffee Table.

I always claimed bias went into the decision. I was just trying to undermine whatserface's claim that no bias went into the decision. No personal bias went into the decision. As I most clearly stated, I don't think he's a bad person one bit. Are you implying that we should ignore past offenses, or should they affect how we act with each new one? ...You know, a bias?

Well, yeah.
I think if he's already been banned he's "done his time".
If Jimmy (a multiple felon), gets punched in the face by Lucy (a nun), and then he beats Lucy up, both of them are going to jail, and the authorities are lenient on Jimmy, because he was provoked.

"I think you mean the rest of the staff. And yes, we already do that" If this was so, then we would never have to have staff members unlocking a locked topic or here them talking about it on a common thread, since it is supposedly resolved between all of you.

Well hayato, that is if we lived in a perfect world. However we do not, so most figures of power do not work with that in mind.

Perhaps it's because this thread and the one prompting it moved far faster than most others, and it's rare to have a lot of staff on at once. I agree, there should be consultations when possible. I made a thread in the staff nonexistent forum to gather people's opinions and hear what they had to say. If anyone thinks Steph and I banned him on our own free will, it's just not true. You made a valid point here, and I'm not even going to argue with it, because yes, there should be more communication. It's increasingly difficult with fast-paced threads and when one of the three admins is rarely online.

I never said that you didn't have reasons to ban him, I simply wanted to have a say. Loogs said that the staff askes for our opinions on things such as board-wide changes. I personally think that banning one of the active members, vulgar as he may be, is a board-wide change. Every RP that he was in will be changed, and any other topics he was in might also lose some spark.

It is important to get everyone's opinions on things that affect everyone on a large scale. Banning a member, while a board-wide change, is something that affects a lot of people, you're right, but it just doesn't really work to put it up to public vote. I can't possibly show you the almost countless discussions the staff has had about Prime, going back to the early life of the Exodus (from mid-2006). However, I can assure you that every time some kind of punishment was being decided, his contributions and impact were weighed against his offenses. I don't want to lose a contributing member any more than you do. There is a point, however, when you just cannot turn the other cheek again. I truly and honestly apologize if any particular thing you were interested in is now hindered by Prime's banning.

Oh no I couldn't care less about most things that Prime was in. I just wanted to make sure that at least someone was talking before doing something as big as a banning. If there truly is a secret staff board where things like this are discussed, then I am ok.

Well if there is no staff forum then that means... YOU MUST ALL BE PSYCHICS! Either way I'm done arguing at the moment and I feel better. I really am sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings. (directed mainly at Babs and Loogs)

It's not really secret. THERE IS NO STAFF FORUM >.> MASTER DIPLOMAT CHRIS KERCHNER, YOU WIN THE INTERNET At Vaxx: It's cool. Not everyone's going to agree with the Prime ban, but it's good that everyone's coming to terms with it. No use fighting over it and making a civil war out of it. And thanks for the apology, I'm sorry as well for any harsh things I may have said.

Guys, I fail to see why this is still a discussion. The lead admin gave the okay. A bunch of minor admins put their stamp of approval on it. To top it all off, I sign off on it. The lattermost alone should be enough to end the discussion here and now.
The fact of the matter is, the admins have the final say. End of discussion. While it is nice that we're able to air our viewpoints, at the end of the day, they call the shots. If you are not comfortable with that, your only choices are to learn to be so, or just leave.
ZOMG COMMUNISM/NAZISM/FASCISM/WHATEVEROTHERISMTHATISFASHIONABLETOSHOUT!
Deal with it. That's how administration works. At the end of the day, it's not a democracy, it's a monarchy. Oligarchy, perhaps. Who cares. The leaders call the shots.
In spite of this, however, I do feel that some administrative figures may not be fit for their roles, given recent events. . .

Mm, wow. Someone should have told me what was happening. If I'd known I was on trial for this, too, I would have actually tried to get on here.
Apparently my absence makes me guilty? Or maybe that, with homework and two hours of computer time a day, I don't have time enough to facilitate the reading of five pages of long, angry posts.
Now. I'd like to point out that, whether a joke or not, Prime's "welcome" to M&V deserved some sort of social rebuke. And yeah, maybe what I said was out of line, but jeezus. If he'd bothered to just say, "It was kind of a joke. [bitch]." I'd have been like, "My bad." No hard feelings.
I'd also like to point out that apparently this wasn't his first offense, that I wasn't the first person to berate him, that it really wasn't that scathing even if it was a bit of a low blow, and that he has been called out worse than this for a lot less offensive posts. I feel like his response to me was almost completely unwarranted, and that, coupled with his treatment of Loogie, who is an admin, he definitely deserved to be banned.
I was going to say that it didn't need to be a terminal ordeal, until I found out that he'd threatened to get Exie shut down. He's going to get the site shut down because he got banned? That alone should evidence that he's probably not the sort of member we need here.
I'm not trying to worm my way out of this. I'll admit that I probably warranted a rebuke of some sort, too, but he really took it overboard. For what it's worth, I would have apologized, and I still will (though I feel I also deserve an apology from him, because that was downright vulgar).
Anyway. I felt like I should have some sort of say in the matter, given my part in it.
