Has anybody else called dibs on the Black Queen? If not, I'd like to use her for Exile related purposes. If somebody has claimed her, tho', I can improvise easily.

Far as I know, nope, she's available. Although I'll be making some limited use of her in the present sequence of events (as opposed to the post-apocalypse timeframe). Not very much.

"I used to have an aunt who was the sweetest woman in the world. She had virtually no vices to speak of -- she didn't drink, smoke or even curse. But that 60-year-old woman loved the shit out of poker. She loved it so much that she bought a computer specifically because one of her sons told her that she could play online for free, which would eliminate any worries of her running away to Vegas and having to blow mobsters to pay off her unfathomable gambling debts."-Cracked This is now canon. Well, except she's already IN Vegas with real poker, too. I guess Reba doesn't do anything in half measures.

You mean having life as usual... XD
(which has been the case of me lately, and why I haven't been RPing anywhere on the board - that, and also my creativity level has been kinda bluh thanks to weird drama going on between me & some friends)

So, only years after we've named Bustin Jieber do I stumble upon the archaic word Princox, meaning a confident, flippant, stylish young man. Such a perfect last name, gone to waste...

I was going to wait until I had fully gone through my entire thread, but I recently had a drive error on my computer and had to get a whole new hard drive, meaning I lost literally every single image that I had relating to Househeld.
BUT.
I have revamped much of the early parts of Shiro's adventure in terms of not only formatting, but also in general art quality. Animations have also been included, and I even went so far as to add humor in places. Crazy! In order to make up for this sad lack of progress, I recently went on some crazy Homestuck binge and downloaded 13.5 Megabytes worth of resource images, as well as bookmarked several sites designed to help people who are making Homestuck fan characters or fan adventures. So I am working, but I need to reassemble my resources from scratch.

Likewise; I'd lost all my Reba work a few months back in a virus attack around January or so; but I've recovered pretty much all of it. Tragically, my attempts at RPGMaker games KEEP FREAKIN' DIEING, though. Windows 7 HATES RPGMaker. *Sigh* Fortunately, as for the writing stuff, I've saved all of that in PMs, which I merely need to dredge up to make work.
Do you think you could put up links to some of those sites? I believe they'd prove quite beneficial for a lot of us.

Yeah, of course! I probably should've linked them anyway. The first two are Session Guides ( here and there), and they're mostly aimed towards pre-session preparation. The first is mostly terminology (which could be very helpful to you if you're not quite clear on the early stages of Sburb!) and the second is more about what happens in that weird middly bit. Did you know that the Reckoning doesn't start until like a WEEK after the session starts? That means we have so much time to play with and plan. And really, I pulled most of my other resources from an extremely helpful (Tumblr) blog, aptly called Homestuck Resources. Basically using either the Masterlist or just the "Only Resources" tabs helped me gather all my art resources. Enjoy!

Of course, this applies to what a particular group of fans thought would be a good idea. Until I see Hussie's name on any of these guides, I'm going to continue treating them as fanworks, and not even necessarily good fanworks. >>; Hence the whole HURR DURR WEEK thing really isn't a 'did you know' as much as it 'did you know some fans thought that makes sense' when there's really no indication in any form of canon that it's about a week? >>;
Considering how our session already deviates from most trends by design, it's kind of silly to rely on other people's RPs as any form of... whatever it is.

Actually, there's a direct statement. We know that the trolls spent over 100 hours in Sburb before they fought the black king. That's only four days initially, yes, but as Vriska said, "we were all pretty good players, remem8er?" I mean, they were a race BRED to complete the game as quickly and efficiently as possible, and they were still floating around for four days before they could get to the Black King. So about a week is, yes, a guess, I suppose. But we're currently guessing that John's god tier powers are the control of air. Hussie has never said what a Hero of Breath's powers are. We've just inferred based on what we've seen.
Short of him publishing a Sburb manual, this is the best we're gonna get. But yeah. Sorry. I think.

Yes, but the Beforan Trolls' session supposedly lasted around three sweeps - although we're not really sure how much of it was the actual failed session and how much time they spent dicking around before they finally asked Echidna about scratching their session. But then, their session went terribly wrong in a nonstandard way. And our session is even MORE nonstandard, what with Occlum and our own specific brand of glitchery.
Come to think of it, though, what is a standard session? Each session is tailored to its players and some greater purpose that Paradox Space seems to have. The basic guidelines are there, but the specifics are always different and the way I see it, you really can't make assumptions re: timespans etc based on other people's fanworks when even Canon shows a great amount of variance. Also. the complexity of the battlefield and amount of prototypings may also be a factor in the time of the reckoning - the reckoning occurs when the black king beats the white king. Each of the Alternian trolls prototyped once pre-entry. Our session already has at least one instance of two pre-entry prototypings. This may hasten the process or alternately slow it down since both white and black are powered up equally by prototypings - and the web of intrigue, information and misinformation that derps around Occlum may also affect the progression of the battlefield... and that's without even talking about potential exiles. Tl;dr, it's too complex to arbitrarily assign a time period to. S'ok. I just have this thing with making 'factual' statements based on non-factual material. XP EDIT: Speaking of Canon Fodder, I just realized that while our session can get away with noncanon multisyllable titles etc because of its glitch, the troll session can't. Which means we need to look at our trolls and see what we need to work with.

Ever since retconning Flynn's title into the Duke of Void, I was growing leery of the Land of Mist and Marshes, which hardly had much to do with a Void theme and anyway was kind of a boring setting, nowhere up to snuff with the awesome planets Hussie has been trotting out in Act 6.
Today I just hatched a new idea -- the perfect planet for a Void player -- which is so exciting it might just get me working on Househeld again.
I'm kind of guessing Stel will hate me for it, though. Not in the "I wish I'd thought of that" way, but in the "How in the bloody hell is THIS daft idea supposed to work" way. I will warm him up to the notion by just putting it out there in advance that the gate system is arranged a little differently on Flynn's planet, though fundamentally the same.

How does our gate system even WORK? I'm still trying to figure that out, since it means that each player could only visit like three worlds.

Dammit, MSPA Wiki doesn't even really know. They think the troll session did still have just seven gates, but they have no idea how the gates were organized.

Actually, I am quite curious!
It is also nice to see more people who remember Househeld exists. I've been kind of been in a ROYAL creative block lately (hence the lack of updates on Colin's thread in like Bloody Ages.) but considering the general lack of activity by, er, anyone, it doesn't seem like I'm missing much. XP

Wait, we talked about gates in the Character Census topic. I still support Lee's idea, I guess, for lack of a better one.

I do remember Househeld exists. However, whatever free time I have for RP has been shunted into keeping ORP alive and well.
In Househeld, the Reba part of the plot is a non-essential tangent compared to the Collin/Flynn/Kitten/Shiro power-quartet. In ORP, if a plot isn't relying on Elliot to run it, it's probably hung up on me.
I'm not forsaking it, however; just waiting for a point where holiday overtime and 4 PM Sabbaths stop conspiring to leave me with a dearth of free time.

I couldn't live with myself if I didn't own up to the fact that I "borrowed" certain "body language" from this image. The floozies were also undeniably inspired by certain strong female characters.

I can't believe I neither considered putting more thought into Reba's love of old murder mysteries and lottery tickets. That way lies sooo many awesome ways of fueling epic alchemies...
Freakin' CASH EXPLOSION.
I mean, looking through all these zany things, I can't even think of what I want Reba to prototype anymore...
