Pohatu: Yes, there very much is, and it is tightly linked to Occlum - and to another great mystery of this session.
There are many irons in the fire. All the irons. All of them. And the fire is burning as hot as the Sun.
EDIT: Right. Time to pull some of these irons out of the fire and do some explaining.
It's already been established by canon that the First Guardian code may be spliced into a myriad of beings, giving them a degree of omnipotence - and if sufficiently sentient, omniscience. the First Guardian of our planet/universe/session has a different quality. Omnipresence.
Simply put, the code was spliced into some form of bacteria, which then proceeded to propagate throughout Paradox Space, establishing sort of a symbiotic relationship similar to some kind of gut flora with the fabric of existence.
As individuals, these first guardian bacteria are essentially mindless, save for one fact: every individual bacterium is linked to another and can be observed through another. When enough of these bacteria are close enough together, though, they "crystallize" in a sense into a quasi-sentient gestalt with its own sort of 'guiding' potential - or at the very least, some sense of direction and purpose. Such a gestalt stands at the core of every instance of Occlum - forming The Eye of Occlum. Through a connection with The Eye (maintained through event terminals on Occlum) one can observe a different sessions as I've stated in my post before. As the bacteria is a First Guardian, it is also attuned with the grand designs of Paradox Space, and a large gestalt like The Eye can theoretically be directed to facilitate an intervention more major than just observation-based - perhaps going as far as identifying derelict, aborted sessions and integrating them into an otherwise incomplete, unbalanced session?
And furthermore - the complexity of the First Guardian code are likely to prevent the rapid mutation typical for most bacteria - but what if a mutation of sorts were to occur? Would the new strain's connection to the Green Sun be severed and it would die out? Or maybe it would be a mutation that gives it a certain advantage, allowing it to create its own network of connected bacteria competing with the original strain?
Is the glitch (or perhaps, malevolent interference!) that befell our session in its inception, changing its natural order and re-purposing its heroes to be destroyers moreso than creators (with a hero of Decay conveniently in its sights), enough to trigger such a mutation?
All will be revealed in good time.
