Choobs and I have been on a real Cuphead kick, so here is my official first draft at applying the Cuphead score to the imaginary fighting game of my dreams where Almudena Madeiro beats up EVERYBODY IN RP (except her fellow Terminer students, of course) for nefarious purposes. Below are the tracks in Cuphead order, not in Almudena order (i.e. probably not easiest-to-hardest fights for her).
BOTANIC PANIC - Couldn't quite make up my mind where Antonio should be, but the music style demands him showing up, and this is a versatile track, so here.
RUSE OF AN OOZE - I'm definitely influenced by the actual content of the fight here, where you take on a big friendly round bouncing guy, but you tell me this wouldn't be perfect music for a fight against Jonas.
CLIP JOINT CALAMITY - Low-down music for an old-fashioned slugfest. I hear Cesare rolling up his sleeves.
THREATENIN' ZEPPELIN - Good music for someone who's gotta go fast. I can see Halley Cometta roller-skating circles around Alma to this track.
FLORAL FURY - The best track in the game. Badly wants a Brazilian character to go with, but since we seem to be short on those, I'll go with geographic promixity as well as overall larger-than-life exuberance and pick classic Hector for this.
SUGARLAND SHIMMY - Again there's no doubt that the content of the fight is influencing me here, but how great would this be for an Emily fight? That cute little xylophone section is perfect.
CARNIVAL KERFUFFLE - Mayordomo blowing everything up. In style.
PYRAMID PERIL - Tag-team of Kendil and Habiba, no doubt.
AVIARY ACTION - The content of the fight is clearly influencing my opinion here, because one of Wally Warbles's attacks is to shoot feathers at you, but... wouldn't this be a fun track for bringing out that playful trickster Zebedee that Lee keeps assuring us exists?
FIERY FROLIC - This track is incredibly stressful. So, probably Natalie.
HONEYCOMB HERALD - That polyrhythmic percussion and piano goin' crazy can only mean one thing: Get ready for the screen to be filled with Terrians.
MURINE CORPS - One of the best tracks, but hard to place. Helen? Would be fun scoring for a magic show.
SHOOTIN' N' LOOTIN' - Also really hard to place, weirdly. Sh-Shouta? There probably needs to be a fight where he puts Almudena through bullet hell.
JUNKYARD JIVE - You know, this music sounds way more stressful in-fight. Probably because the fight is one of the most frustrating in the game. Nevertheless, I think this would be good for Yoshimitsu going all-out.
DRAMATIC FANATIC - Somehow, the tap dancing at the beginning screams Nopcsa to me. I don't know how a fight against Nopcsa would shake down, though. Seems like it'd be hard to implement "mind-reading" in a fighting game in a way that would actually be interesting to play against. Maybe his encounter would be more of a puzzle fight.
HIGH SEAS HI-JINX - I think this has the right level of grandeur for Valon.
RAILROAD WRATH - The content of the track puts this unambiguously on a train, so let's say it's Rie aboard the King Thomas.
THE AIRSHIP (unused track) - God, I love the xylophone strokes at the beginning. Is this a Tanner track?
ADMISSION TO PERDITION - Considering what happens to this track after about a minute... this might need to be evil Rhometer.
ONE HELL OF A TIME - FINAL BOSS. PRIME. WITH EVERY POWER HE'S EVER HAD. O N E H E L L O F A P R I M E
Ha ha actually never mind because Prime is a trash person and doesn't deserve final boss status
