It's my headcanon that Aquara is actually Japanese, with the last name "O-Shinada" (I don't know what Shinada means, but it's a moderately common Japanese surname. O-Shinada would basically mean "the great Shinada" IIRC, which likely means she's of noble blood.) Anyways, when she went to write her name in English, she realized that since l/r/d are all one sound, she could anglicize her name as Oceanara. And since Aquara's Aquara, she went with it. Yeah, I want Aquara to be Japanese too, because I keep imagining this as her leitmotif. It's a really water-y kind of song. Musically, there are both underwater bubbles and great crashing tides in there, I think. And coastal winds.

My theme for Aquara. Which is admittedly a bit more Street Fighter flavored, but still very Japanese styled. So I think we're on a similar wavelength. (Seriously, Endless Frontier is Kevin as fuck. It's like two Prime characters and six Kevin characters do a quest RP.)

Speaking of Street Fighter, here's Kendil's theme. Largely because back during Househeld, the SFIV version of this song was what I'd set an animation with her fighting Reba to.

This has been my operative Deandre theme for a while. Gentle and laid-back, but with a definite tense, ambiguous, uncertain character. The melody never really reaches any kind of internal resolution. You want it to settle somehow, and it never does.

This is a song that I've been using to inspire a pair of characters that Lee and I have discussed in the past that I'm trying to figure out how to properly introduce.

Feels utterly on point for Orville Giguere, and by extension, Emet as a whole. Worth listening to the full four minutes.

Not sure how fitting it is as a theme song but I write most of Carlos' stuff to Adore Delano - My Address Is Hollywood. The lyrics don't really fit but otherwise the overall tone of the song seems like a match to me.

Now that Hector's a sailor and all I'd be really disappointed if I didn't use this as his theme song.

I legitimately thought that was gonna be You Are A Pirate from LazyTown. I'm not sure if I'm disappointed or not

No, no, no, you're both wrong.
How could anything besides this be Hector's theme?

I think I've found Hector's combat theme for these days. :3 (Well, between the :48 and the 3:48 marks)

This always puts me in a Rie kind of a mood. Great tense slow build up to the transition around three minutes in when it gets Real.

I'm going with Troye Sivan - Youth for the entire Yoshi/Vincent relationship they've got going on.

This is the one I'm using for a new character I haven't had a chance to use yet. His name is Ryan Bishop.

full disclosure: I just think this is a pretty song and decided to shoehorn it somewhere so I could share it. Because it features the word "wildfire" and the phrase "would you save me? / It's a crime if you don't" I have shoehorned it into Garth's comet performance.

so, due to me rewatching cosmos and mulling over the possibility of bringing Ivan back from the scrap heap, I decided to pop Nightwish's Oceanborn back on for the first time in yeeeeears.
before you laugh me off this mortal coil, let me tell you something for those of you who joined post-Snitz:
Nightwish was a very, very real phase for me, from around when I was 12 until maybe sophomore year of high school. like I had all the albums and played them over and over again on my little walkman, I ate that shit up my dudes. the first track on Oceanborn is a track called "Stargazers", one of my favorites off the album, and for those of you who remember him, happens to be the inspiration for giving Ivan the Stargazer Mage distinction he had when I tried to move him away from being a direct Golden Sun rip.
in fact, a good chunk of any of my writing in the Snitz era was written to Nightwish songs. Vathale? "Sacrament of Wilderness". Dimitri? "Dead Boy's Poem". Hector? "Wanderlust", of course! this is part of why it was also so dang wangsty and.... melodramatic.
so in short, Nightwish is the official soundtrack of the Snitz. listening to Nightwish is like summoning the Snitz back from the dead.
I leave you with the aforementioned "Stargazers" for your listening pleasure:

FINALLY found this song after YEARS of looking, like, since 2010ish. The first time I found a latin guitar piece that actually works for Almudena.

Came up in my library and reminded me that this was going to be Flynn's planet theme. The planet was going to be the Land of Concave and... Helix, I think? It was an unorthodox spin on a Void player's land: an inside-out planet. It was one big hollowed-out sphere whose outer surface was just featureless wasteland, but with all the civilization and geographic features arranged on the inner surface instead.
Anyway this is some jam.

In a rather amusing case of parallel evolution, in the end days of Househeld, Cendra and I were planning having her character from another session interlope into ours. Her player was also of the Void aspect, though in her case, it involved the ability to go outside her session to scavenge doomed pieces from other sessions to help save hers (Reba, who'd been foreshadowed like a million times as dying, actually would end up in this other session). Her planet, I forget the name, but it was also planned as a hollow sphere (since we thought Flynn was still going to have Swamp world). She and I actually storyboarded the initial vague, vague steps about her character getting a brief animation where she looks out through a hole in her world, and almost takes a passing meteor to the face.
The big bit of drama Cendra's character was going to add was due to the fact that Flynn's class/aspect combo goes into doomed sessions and detonates them, as cleanup work. So Flynn finding out there's a Void player in HIS session would be a GIGANTIC oh shit moment for the entire RP.
(Also, Kendil was Reba's guardian/Reba was Kendil's guardian, which I'm sure y'all can see in retrospect, but I digress)
