Well, to be fair, Ninety and Biscuit would just one him. So I guess I'd just need a rating from BB/Photu on Hector, I think. He's in the same grey zone as Shino, who was sorta submitted and got rated by a few people already.
Now, adding a half dozen characters for everybody to rate, that would complicate things.
So, I guess, if you PM BB and get him to rate Hector for you, Loogs, we can put him in.

Rating one more well-establishes character like Hector isn't an issue at all, it takes maybe 3 minutes tops to write something useful.
Kara's cast, as much as I hate to say this, aren't really known enough. I've read her posts in LTR and should probably read Mirror but... It's just daunting to have to rate characters who haven't been established recently or for very long, and who don't have a lot of appearances to judge them by.

Kara, Serpentei, and Sagami were used more at Pokeschool. Haven't done much with them here since it's hard to get used to not having old buds around to RP with (like Ch@n, Jessie, RustyBlade, etc.).
Nagisa has been used more here as of recent, and that's not bad.
Luna is the most underused next to poor Sagami, and it would rock to remedy that soon (but that's if FF9 stuff ever gets used again in an RP).

To really make things trimmer, it might be more prudent to slap around folks that try to submit bit part characters. Isambard, huh? Kortova, what? Gamboge, WHAT? If you took out all the characters that have less than a dozen in character posts under their belts, you'd lose: Isambard Lacianus (Maybe) Haze Jimmy (Maybe) Channery (granted, she's received a substantial ammount of characterization within, so she's still alright.) Commisioner Williams (Yet again, uncertain. He's got quite a few RPs, though mostly minor roles) Kyle (Maybe? I forget how many posts he's gotten since LTR started.) All 4 of Biscuit's characters, except Lucas and Huck Shino (Who I didn't put on the polls since I didn't know if he was in or not, but some people have rated him.) Arnold Landers Gamboge Kortova Belwyn Curator So, it'd put us back down around fiftyish. Of course, I doubt many of these characters will recur by the next year, so who knows what the poll will look like next time? Last year, it was almost all stars, IIRC, bar some unfortunate picks by Prime and Loogs. This year, due to Renard and Ish and LTR, there's been a glut of one-shot characters and recurring NPCs. Not a bad thing, but slightly more imposing to rate well. It's more nuanced than that, as you touched on with Channery. The point isn't quantifiably "how many posts does this character have?" but "how much material does this character provide for evaluation?" So yeah, Channery clearly got a huge amount of mileage out of her less than a dozen posts (even counting her early appearance at Albarello and on the DVD VDV footage), but a nominally minor character doesn't have to work overtime the way she did to qualify for the ratings. Any character, no matter how small their role in RP (so far), unquestionably deserves to be on the ratings if there's at least enough material with them on the board to get a substantial picture of who they are as a character and to offer criticism about them. So the likes of Lacy, Kyle, Williams (if I may say so), the Curator, and even Gamboge based on her single Fallfish post, are all valid submissions because we have -- or can have, if we bother to look -- clear outlines of their personalities to work with. Indeed, it's almost harmful to discourage those types from showing up in the polls, because what better time to receive critique on those characters than when they're still fresh and can be taken in a lot of possible directions? The only candidates, then, who shouldn't really get submitted are the ones who fail to meet even that low minimum point of characterization. They should be withheld until they've shown just enough color to qualify for advice. That's why I was a little annoyed to see, for instance, Landers (sorry Blood, I know I pick on you a lot but this was a very pure example) in the polls. He's still such a massive nonentity anywhere outside of Blood's head -- look, this is all there is of him so far -- that there's really nothing constructive you can say about him in the ratings except "...do more with him". (The fact that I guarantee you Lee tried to give more constructive criticism than that does not mean that the action is possible.)

Has Blood ever posted the battle Ackerly had with Lone's character? If so, that'd probably help him out quite a bit, though I could be wrong.
And my only suggestion for Landers is "Join Oyster Crackers, jerk! WE NEED MEN."

P.S. Lee, I can think of at least one character of mine you forgot to mention in the less-than-a-dozen-posts list.
Yoon Mangjeol.
Going by number of posts in Boullogne, she's way under Channery, and her scant appearances in Ish and Luncheon so far don't put her above the mark either. She probably has at most seven posts in the RP right now.
But I bet it didn't even occur to you to list her. That's a testament to how clearly delineated a profile she's already attained with a minimum of posts. (Or you'll say you thought about including her but didn't because of her Formspring, so don't say that if you were going to because it undermines my cool argument okay?)

Actually, I forgot about her because of the massive ammount of behind-the-scenes stuff I've seen from her.
After all, I've actually written what was almost a self contained RP with the woman for something in Ish.
(I hope/wish that some day we can write the Nopcsa/Yoon chat. That must have been epic maneuvering.)

I- I thought Burgled Boullogne was the bonus feature. Or was it the OVA to go with Ish?
Or maye Burgled Boullogne is actually only the little known sequel to Ghosts and Rust. (Insert Mindscrew here.)

There's no rule that there can't be more than one bonus feature. You just have to release it as the collector's edition.

Ok, this has been mentioned several times so I now feel the need to say something about it. Aside from Alyssa and Durant, none of my characters have really moved. Mr. Rabbit hasn't spoken at all, Landers and Arnold haven't seen a post in around a year, nor has Gamboge. To be entirely honest, I had no intention of entering any of my characters in this poll, but I was asked to do so. At the time I entered my characters GnR was supposed to start moving again, so Arnold was HOPEFULLY going to get some good characterization in and maybe grow a bit before the polls were due. The Wolf RP was also moving and Shadow and Fleet were active while more sporadic members were posting in the RP, so he was growing too. Should Landers or Gamboge be here? No. Not really. But, again, I didn't think that anyone other than Alyssa and Durant had any business being here either but I figured that I may as well be thorough and enter the rest as well.

I had totally forgotten this was happening. Dammit.
Um um um. We're PMing these to Lee? Yes? I'll start working on them now instead of sleeping because fuck sleep even if I have to be up at 7 tomorrow morning. I'll try to hurry but I'll be moving in a week so I don't know how busy I'll be yet.
Anyway, starting now. Thanks for throwing Sarosin in there, bee-tee-dubbs. I do not mind at all.

Well, SV, no need to rush extremely like that. Though if you beat Blood who's been sorta staggering through it for two weeks now, I'd be highly amused (and you'd get to pick my next post after Funeral Pyre for a Fuzzball.)
Just a word to everybody: We are rating Hector. BB, Pohatu, I think you're the only people who know Hector, have submitted ratings, and haven't given me a rating for Hector. If I could get those, I want to end this the Saturday after this next one. (That'd be the 28th, for those of you keeping track at home.) Blood, SV, remember to add Hector to the ratings that you are doing.
DL, for the love of all that is good, please, just get some ratings together.

More tomorrow. I seriously got 2 hours of sleep last night and helped my friend move into her dorm for way too long. I will fall over and die/lapse straight into deep sleep if I try to do anything that requires thoughtfulness right now.

7 ratings down! Bunches more to go! Seven? Dear god, however much you're writing is too much. Don't flagellate yourself, just crank out some one- or two-sentence comments. Man! Remember how there are like eighty characters to rate?

We should ban DL until he comes up with ratings.
Also I bet SV is only writing like three sentences per character. It's just that she's thinking so hard in order to compress the sheer genius of her words into a succinct two lines.

Remember how there are like eighty characters to rate? That was in about an hour to an hour and a half. I was not up until 5:30-6 working on character ratings. I was up that late because I fail at sleeping. >.< And then I was gone all yesterday. I did the first seven I could think of without looking up any RPs, because research to make an honest rating would have taken too long and I was lazy. the on have and character to greatest babies creator Rance and want handsome I West Exodus the is his is sexy and This is now my rating for Rance. Thanks, ninety! Also I bet SV is only writing like three sentences per character. It's just that she's thinking so hard in order to compress the sheer genius of her words into a succinct two lines. Lee! We should do some kinda Ask the Experts thing like in the Lugiasian Awards last year. Three or four expert judges predict the results of the poll. Not -- oh god, not actually in order (like, "Here's the character I suspect will get the highest rating. Here's the character I suspect will get the second highest rating." etc.), but by tiers.
Like, what are there, eighty characters, now that Hector's in? So you'd group together the sixteen characters (20%) you think are likely to be the top sixteen, though not in any particular order, and you call that your predicted top tier. And then you guess who'll be the next group of sixteen characters and that's your estimated high tier, and then so on for mid tier, low tier and bottom tier. And when when the results come in we can see how accurately the experts predicted!
If anyone thought Ask the Experts was an interesting addition to the awards ceremony (I did), adding it here would be equally interesting.

Exactly! And probably Elliot, too.
Oh, but we wouldn't post them, we'd PM them to Lee like when you guys PMed your predictions to me for the Lugiasian Awards. And then the predictions would be published as part of the results.
