Just got to Violet City. Running around with Sentret (Tail-kun!) and Cyndaquil (FireRodent). I did get a Venonat off the pokewalker, but I couldn't figure out if you could nickname them from the pokewalker so it's sitting in my box.

I'm trying to breed Water Pulse and Thunder Wave onto a Dunsparce because I don't have the TMs. Can anyone help me out with this attempt?

Can you chain-breed from a Whiscash? Or a Lanturn?

Don't have access to either, I think. When do they become available?

As the resident Chinchou ace, they're first REALLY available in Olivine, via fishing at night. At least, last I knew. I don't know if you need a Good Rod or a Super Rod for it, though.
Why you'd want T-Wave when you have Serene Grace is beyond me. Can Dunsparce learn any of the following? Body Slam, Bounce, Spark, Glare, etc.

No. That's why.
Smogon says that Dunsparce can learn Body Slam, but Bulbapedia doesn't back that up, at least for gen IV. It might have glare, but glare is inaccurate. I at least want to do damage if I'm not getting the status.

Serebii's entry for Dunsparce says it can't learn body slam. How about headbutt instead? It, bite, rock slide, and astonish all have a 60% flinch chance with serene grace but astonish is really weak with low PP. It definitely learns glare. I don't know how passing on moves through breeding works but Twave isn't in Serebii's list of "egg moves" (which I assume are ones that can be passed on through breeding).

Teach it Thunder, which you can buy in Goldenrod. 60 Par and NASTY damage. Give it Headbutt from Ilex Forest tutor, until it can get Zen. Water Pulse? No idea on that.

Dunsparce gets Body Slam due to the move tutor in FR/LG

I was planning on Water Pulse for confuse, Twave for paralyze, then headbutt to flinch to death. I think I calculated about a 20% of being able to hit back. Rock slide might be a good addition, too.
Thunder is about a 49% paralyze chance due to shaky accuracy, but I suppose that's not too bad since it destroys everything.

Zen headbutt's flinch rate isn't as high as headbutt's though and dunsparce gets STAB with headbutt and not zen. Plus it has 100% acc over zen's 90% while only doing ten less base damage. With STAB though the damage goes from 70 to 105 over Zen's straight 80.

Mm, good point on the STAB. And Headbutt's free. So, go wit' dat.
And yeah, Thunder's best if you're using a Rain Dance team. If not, it's still actually decent (some guy on P-skool crunched the numbers, and it's still ahead of T-bolt even with Rain Dance), though not the highest odds of Par.

STAB=Same Type Attack Boost/Bonus. If a poke uses an attack of the same type they are the damage is multiplied by 1.5.
Everything else is self-explanatory and YOU SHOULD FIGURE IT OUT.

i just looked at lanturn and whiscash. They're both in the water 2 egg group, which has only one connection to the ground group (wailmer) who can't learn the moves i want, and three connections to water 1, who also can't learn the moves, except remoraid, who i can't get.

So far, I've beaten all 16 gym leaders (with a team of 5 no less!) and beaten a frontier brain. Caught Mewtwo, Articuno, Ho-oh, Zapdos, Latias and Suicune. Currently saving BP for the power items, then considering starting a new game after trading my babies across.

I was stomping the Pokeathelon. I broke every record and almost had completed EVERYTHING that was there to do... and then a power surge killed my game taking out all of my legendaries from my other versions, my 115+ medalist pokemon, my team of L60's, and 125+ hours of my LIFE.
I'm sending it off to Nintendo tomorrow to hopefully save all/most/any of that work.

Ooh, that's rough, man. Hope it turns out okay.
I had a close call last night, where my file got corrupt right after had beat four Kanto leaders in a row. Fortunately, I must've double saved by accident, since it reverted to where I had been when I shut it down.

I had some fun battles recently against my friend.
Lol, my friend wanted to test out his uber team and I just used my sub-rhyperior team. Omg that was fun, lol.
Also, that surprised me on why so few people actually use CB Scizor. SD scizor is amazing and all, but... The immediate stopping power of a CB'd pursuit or u-turn is so very useful at times. It's kinda like using the specs over LO version of Latias >>

Well, I've beaten all the way to Red, and I'm hoping to borrow somebody's DS and trade over my good stuff from Pearl. Then I'll make a Dace Balao file, start with a Burmy, and proceed to make the entirety of Sinnoh my kingdom.
(Gee, I hope I can trade over something more than a Burmy... Doing the whole game with only a Wormadam would be boring.)

@ Ninety: Personally, I'd run surf or thunderbolt over refresh, just so that you can hit those steels for at least neutral damage.
@ Lee: Well... If I could find a freaking WAP that works with the DS, I could easily help you out, but... With the DS not compatible with WPA2-PSK encryption and lack of a WEP or unsecured WAP... I'm sorry.
