I would also like to throw out that a Toxicroak with Dry Skin would likely work out much better than one with Poison Hand. If it was badly poisoning, maybe, but by using Poison Hand, I hope you are fully aware that you lose an immunity to water moves, which is quite valuable.

Water immunity IS nice, and does give him some backup against a weakness of his party (Chandelure and Aggron are both Water weak, and there's no resists to cover for 'em).
On the other hand, doesn't poison cut Defense? If so, whenever that ability triggers, it's akin to getting a free Screech in.
I 'unno. I forgot about Dry Skin, really. It's a great ability, provided you don't mind the trade off.

ah, no, poison doesn't have an extra effect. Badly poisoning doubles in damage every turn, but poison just takes the same small amount away per turn. No defense cutting or any of that :>

Dry skin is a double-edged sword since I would take increased damage from fire moves. Why they gave that ability to poor Parasect is beyond me.

Because Parasect, Farfetch'd, and Luvdisc are the three whipping boys for the design team.
Parasect CAN actually be decent, though, if you Baton Pass it in against a Water type or something it can outspeed (Gyro Ball users). (Baton passing Agility, though totally optional, makes this better) Spore is a wicked useful move, and then it's a matter of setting up Swords Dance and going to town on everything.
Luvdisc and Farfetch'd, tho'? Not so much. They just like to tease them with potential upgrades. If I ever make my own gen, Farfetch'd will get either a Steel/Flying type or Fighting/Flying type evo, essentially a battle hardened survivalist samurai Pokemon that managed to make it through the thousands of people wanting to eat it. I think I'll name it Ramboiseau.
And Luvdisc will evolve into Luvcraft, the Eldritch Pokemon.

At the same time, most of the dry skin users have sort of ew defenses. Toxicroak has average HP and yucky defenses, so he'd more or less faint to any strong move thrown his way. It doesn't make him bad, since he can just put on a Focus Sash to not die or something, but the increased fire damage doesn't matter too much. The same applies to Jynx, who gets Dry Skin from the Dream World :>
I will also note that with Dry Skin, you can bait Fire moves and respond with a timely switch to Chandelure, who rather kindly receives the Flash Fire boost.

I went with Flame Body since I don't do much switching. I tend to lean more towards Glass Cannons, so I typically hit hard and hit fast. I would love Sharpedo if he'd only have some defense. I don't ask for much, but I've never seen him not get OHKO'd.

Isn't that what the Focus Sash is for? Pokemon who are really easy to OHKO?
Sorry! I don't know anything about the competitive scene! I'll shut up now!

No, Mister Potatuuuu, that's what the Focus sash is for :> As long as you're at full HP, your focus sash will keep you from being knocked out in one hit, so it has uses <3 Sort of like on stuff like alakazam and all that.

Yeah but the last time I used a Focus Sash, it disappeared after I used it and that discouraged me from bothering with it. I dunno if that's a glitch or if it is a single use, but I've lost the desire to put forth the insane amount of effort to look it up and find out.

Wow, yeah, never mind, it's consumed after use. What a piece of shit.

You're probably thinking of Focus Band.

I thought Focus Sash wasn't single-use either D:

Yeah, it's single use!
Mind, that's why we only use it in places like the battle frontier or online battles, where the item sticks with you c:

I don't believe in specializing teams. This isn't real life, this is a game about magical fucking creatures that shoot fire and shit outta their mouths and asses and not necessarily in that order. My teams only have one setting and that's Hit Them Until They Stop Moving.

So who's looking forward to Black 2 and White 2?
Personally, I'm not a fan of these new Kyurem forms, they're a little bit odd, I'm sure I'll get used to them, it's just, with no more information than "Kyurem Zekrom/Reshiram form" it's just frustrating to not know all about what causes it all...

They're not just doing Pokemon Grey?
Yeah... not really a fan of either of these forms... I guess I'm sick of forms in general.

black 2 and white 2 are sequels, not just your standard 3rd game.
I like forms, but mostly for rotom and deoxys =)

Oh. Well if they're actually going to have new storylines within Unova or something, that's cool. If they're just splitting Grey up into two separate games to make EVEN MORE MONEY, that's not.

They're supposed to be legit sequels. Like. Actual continuations of the plot of Black/White.
Not that it matters. I'm like, Pokeymans?! TAKE MY MONEY NINTENDO. I should really stop that.
