I should ask questions, since that is why the thread exists.
Dear choobs,
It would appear that we are both Tool fans. I have two questions regarding this: One, how awesome does this make us, and two, could you pretty-please recommend some of their songs? I've liked them for a long time but this huge appreciation for them that I have is new, and I'd like to try to get into some of their less mainstream stuff.

Ohhhhhhhhh boy, that makes us pretty fuckin sweet.
Okay, so as a Dream Theater kid, I have a tolerance and appreciation for overly long metal songs. So you better too, if you want my recommendations.
Lateralus (the song) is great. The time signatures switch on the fibonacci sequence.
Lateralus the album is also pretty great.
Triad is a beautiful instrumental. My drummer friend says Danny Carey is playing a different time signature with his hands than his feet at points in it, but I can't tell because it's pretty greatly composed.
Schism is a classic, and it's probably "mainstream." I dunno. Reflection has a dope tom rhythm and Maynard's vocals are kinda cool, though they sound a little cry-y, but I can dig it for that song.
The Patient is pretty great. So yeah. Basically the entirety of Lateralus, except for those scary tracks that are just noise and scary sounds. But I dunno if I'm too mainstream because wikipedia says that it was a #1 album on Billboard.
Right in Two off the 10,000 Days album is pretty dope. Vicarious, too, but that's totally mainstream. The Pot is fun. I can't quite remember Wings for Marie and 10,000 Days, but I feel like they were good. I'll listen to them on the way to school.
Off of Aenima, Eulogy and Stinkfist (it's about anal fisting as an allegory to media desensitization! How can it not be good) are some of my faves. I remember waaaaay back that Eulogy gave me a character idea, but he was one of those sword wielding characters from the future. I don't know if it's my fault as a bad writer at the time, or if it's the song's fault. Probably mine.
The other albums I haven't really listened to, but I have them.

I just meant the ones that everyone's already heard. This is a wonderful list. I've listened to Lateralus, but not in an in-depth-y way. The Fibonacci Sequence, huh? That's bad-ass. Stinkfist is good but I can only listen to so much of it before the overt fisting imagery turns me off. Vicarious is great. So is The Pot. My brother is a pretty awesome drummer, especially for his age. I'll have to ask him about Triad, he'll appreciate it.
I am so totally enraptured by H right now. Goddamn. I need to sleep. I can't stop.
Also, you're a superhero, thanks =D

10,000 Days is one of my favorite albums and it's probably my favorite track on the album.

My boyfriend/mp3 mule is bringing me their discography Friday. I'm excited.
(And the Strokes album I'm missing.)
(And the Zeppelin albums I'm missing.)
(And the Who songs I'm missing.)
(And the new Interpol album.)
(And some Blue Oyster Cult.)

Dear choobs,
How should one go about getting one's boyfriend to shave his god-fucking-awful beard off? Gentle suggesting doesn't work. I strive to avoid nagging, but it hasn't worked either. It is truly terrible. An impenetrable forcefield of face-wool. When he doesn't get his hair cut it starts to look like a fuzzy ninja mask. If this beard were a boat (and I fear it may soon be) he would be paddling it ferociously toward That-Thing-Is-A-Serious-Turn-Off-Land. Please, for the love of all that is holy, help. ._.
Hugs always, SV

Well, good. I'm glad the worst thing that could ever happen to my penis has happened to it. I'm glad we're past that. It's all uphill from here.

Salma Hayek with a beard is worse for my penis than castration.

In a metaphorical sense, yes.

I'd be more upset if I was castrated than if, say, Jay Von Monroe had boobies.

'I don't always grow a beard... but when I do, I prefer a manly one.'
'Stay bearded, my ladies.'

Think the feeling of getting head from a bearded lady would be far worse for your penis than the image of the bearded lady itself.

I reread this thread just now. 90, what did you even do to it.
That's a rhetorical question because I'm not the one asking questions here.
