It seems that as time goes on, Shapeshifting tends to fall by the wayside. Of course, that may be due to the fact that most characters grow in strength mostly in their main form, instead of improving the forms they can become. Sly still shifts, but like Rie, it's mostly versatility shifting these days, bar when he wants to go "**** you, I'm a T-Rex!" and go all Godzilla on somebody.
Speaking of shapeshifters, what partial (one piece at a time, typically) shapeshifters do we have? I don't know if Rie does it often (though she seems capable), but I remember Koji and Dikau both could. Basilisk too, to a lesser degree.
Maybe only evil people do that?

Pablo is not Spanish for "small one", but Paulus is Latin for "little", though, were the word is initially based from.
Unknown: Very old name for my first fanfiction character, which slowly ended up as a short lived RP character in a time when probably no one remembers. Basically means that, everything about him is "unknown". I did have a name for him, but time slowly made me forget.
Galen Wing: A friend of my had one of her female characters named "Gale", to which I told her I didn't like it's pronunciation very much (which, by the way, was in Spanish, as I do like it's pronunciation). I ended up taking the name for myself, and changing it around by adding the oh so awesome "n" at the end. I'm not sure about where Wind came from, and I thought Galen was a made up name, but later I found out he was a Greece philosopher who's name meant "quiet" or "peaceable". Which ended up as being something great, as "quiet wind" is a great way to describe the character.
Slash Shirohi: Another fanfic-to-rp character, once again very short lived. I was watching Digimon Tamers and it basically came up when the characters where doing the "Card Slash" thing. I thought it would make up for a great name, and later remember that there was already a character with such a name in Chrono Trigger. He ended up being sort of a cool sounding name slash Chrono Trigger homage. Get it? Slash? Har har. His second name is basically japanese for "white fire".
U: This belongs to one of my most interesting characters, a selfish, psycho bipolar shady character with the weirdest form of dissociative identity disorder. In essence, it's an evolved form of my previous character, Unknown, as I had thought of a great character idea that could surely use the name. I didn't just want to rip the same name, so I ended up shortening it... a lot. And that's it.
Gina Wing: Galen's crazy bitch of a loving sister. Or she used to be. Or is she still it? I'm not sure where I'm taking her as of now. Gina is just a name I randomly picked up, she's not really Georgina or Regina or anything. I don't think it means anything - yet.

Prime could do partial shapeshifting, and one of the characters I used in FRP could as well. He was some sort of Iron based character. Don't remember much else.

Rie's capable of partial shapeshift. But she has DNA based shifting, so picking and choosing is a bit hard. Arms of a snake!
I never really explained, but Rie acquires forms with a syringe, not a simple touch. Therefore she doesn't really obtain new forms.
However, Rie can do fake transforms. Like she can make her arms all snake like if she so chose, but they wouldn't really be snakes, if that makes any sense. At that point it's a problem of keeping the organic structure in her mind as opposed to letting genetic modifications handle it.

Ah. Shoulda specified the full details on it, since more correctly, it's a Spanish name with a meaning OF Little One, not meaning Little One directly in Spanish proper.
Detective Ods: My "Mysterious" character. Ods was picked because I thought it implied a sense of freedom, of going outside the norm. Evens are boring, Odds are exciting. Likewise, Ods is very far outside of normalcy. (Which, BTW, as I think about it, makes him probably a good fit for Prime's RP.)

Laranja Melarancio: IIRC, both names mean "Orange" or something along those lines. When I used to play Power Rangers, I'd always pick orange. Thus her name in a sentai topic.
Siuru: No actual meaning, but an assembly of letters meant to sound Japanese. Goes with Achenes and Abatis in "Possibly just codenames." Was picked from random letters on a magazine in the bathroom, since I was RPing with Mack and needed a name FAST.
Bryony: Named after the flower. Comes from a group of villains in my Bleach RPG named after poisonous plants. She's seeing use on her own, since by far, she's the most intriguing of them, besides possibly their leader. And considering his power level... He's a bit BEYOND where we'd want somebody in that RP.
Lucian Wills: Lucian references light, which is the theme he's built around (along with the colors yellow and gold. Bright blonde hair, golden eyes, golden decorations on his Zanpakutou, etc.) Wills refers to... Ew, his willpower. Yeah. He's a man on a mission.

ch00bs used REVIVE *chchbwoooop*
Alia Maersk half rhymes with Elon Musk, who I was originally going to just straight up expy because like who else would build a fucking space cruise. I guess Virgin Galactic. They're probably investors. Anyway, Alia = "supreme, exalted" and I wanted connotations of height (both the space pun and her powers) and the Maersk Group IRL is the largest container ship operator in the world.
Jesper was just a random Danish name I picked.
Price was unintentionally appropriately named. The name came first, then I decided he was stingy af halfway through Azure King.
SH47 from one of my writing prompt stories was named after HK47 from Knights of the Old Republic, but I replaced the "Hunter Killer" designation with "Silent Hunter". I stole my coworker's wife's first name and grabbed Nightingale from the elite thieves in Elder Scrolls. Edward Electric was just a dope alliterative cyberpunk name.
If you didn't catch it from the Ish thread, I hid Mandelbrot's true identity right in Julia's name. Julia sets are a type of fractal, and Romanesco broccoli has a fractal like appearance. I think people thought I had ripped it from Cowboy Bebop at the time, and that made me chuckle internally.
Prima, Devo, and Vesta were just me filling literally an entire page of my notebook with names just trying to find the appropriate phonetics to match the last name of Irinio. Nicovante was ripped straight from The Lies of Locke Lamora, not, in fact, from Nico G. Callo and Cayla were inspired by the twins Calo and Galdo Sanza, also from The Lies of Locke Lamora. Giovenzio was taken from an name generator set to the Italian mode.

why did you unearth this bad thing from the bad past
tiny fun fact: Lee named Pleiades, actually. Something about bird motifs, idk.
Halley's whole thing is obviously named after the comet, which connects to her courier job and conveys that she gotta go fast.
Everyone else is either: a name I liked that would make sense considering the people who named them (Dimitri Galetsky), holdovers from the Ripoff Era (Ivan, Hector), or pure conlang (Vathalé, the Raiixians, the rest of Hector's name)

Oh my god, Alia Maersk is a reference to Elon Musk? Then we totally need a character inspired by this guy. His power is being a level two stage capitalist like yourself.
