Valon Lorsha: Valon is derived from valor which basically defines the base of the character. Boldness in the face of danger. Lorsha was created by combining lore and shade, as in something like a dark legend.
Nade Lorsha: Nade is taken from serenade, which is defined as "a complimentary performance of vocal or instrumental music in the open air at night, as by a lover under the window of his lady". Nade had a very melodic loving voice, which wasn't brought up in alot of topics. Last name is the same as Valon.
Reb Lorsha: Reb is just a shortened form of Rebecca, which is a name I like. Lorsha was obtained when she married Nade.
Kairie: A name that I love and the name my first daughter will have. Little used character.
Koji and Dusk: Just random evil sounding names that I used.
Valcara: Taken from the work Vaalbara, which is the name of Earths first supercontinent.
Finally, a new name that will appear soon.
Dravec: A name created from two words in Drakonic, which will be featured in an upcoming RP. The name meaning will come then too.

Karcharos: I actually put some thought into that one. I won't say why though. Any relation to the Greek word karcharos, "jagged", appearing in such words as Carcharodon, the genus to which the great white shark belongs?

Hey, I dIdn't uSE googlE for that! Well, not to begin with. I was a dinosaur buff back in the preteen day and I remembered that there was a dinosaur called "Carcharodontosaurus" and I remembered it meant "something-toothed reptile". Then I looked it up on Google. So there.

Well said. Karcharos is quickly shaping up to be the new favorite for me. I will say that though he isn't inherently evil, he's not good either.
Kuro doesn't fit in much for more than fights. He's socially awkward and a touch on the quiet side. Not only that, but he doesn't have any goals other than to defeat opponents to test his power. He needs something to spark a change, though I dunno what would do that.

But who is there to love him? I wouldn't know how to go about making a love interest for him, I have enough trouble making characters to begin with.

Karcharos: I actually put some thought into that one. I won't say why though. So, uh... Is he a villain, or...? I don't like the foreshadowing that's going on left, right and centre!

He's not evil per se, though he certainly isn't good.

REVIVAL! Helen Mercury: Anyways, Helen Mercury was originally supposed to be much more of a mystic in her off time, and Greek to boot. Needless to say, in my trial RP (all my characters go through said trial, or risk failure.), she instead came up as a somewhat flamboyantly dressed girl-next-door with obscene ammounts of magical power. She retained the original name, though, which comes from Helenic, and Mercury, the god said to have brought knowledge of magic to humanity.
Achenes (Last Name Not Given): One of my few characters who was lacking a name through almost all of her design process, and indeed, her trial RP as well. I had settled on a redhead, since I didn't have a redheaded character yet, and wanted for her to be small, making it easier to dodge bullets (her signature "trick"). Not even thinking about it, I sat down to watch Good Eats, where they said the seeds of a strawberry were called "Achenes". I ran with it. In a Japanese dub, I suppose that would make her "Ichigo", mayhaps?
Pablo: Spanish for "Small one". He's two feet tall. Go figure.
Abatis: A barrier used in military combat, made of sharpened fallen trees and such. Used to represent the difficulty in reaching the core of his reasoning, and his menace. May not be his real name.
Enos Azzacov: My only name rip, from an observation in a book that a Dr. Enos Azzacov had been present in two seperate urban legends about drilling to/digging to hell. Originally planned to be an exorcist, traditional style, I had earlier slashed plans for Joseph to gain super-strength, and decided to make a character whose only power was "Full Holy". And thus, he was born.
Mark Keegan: I'm ashamed to admit this was another "Name Meaning" name. Keegan means "Ardent" or "Small Fire", which I think captures his spirit fairly well. Mark means "Dedicated to Mars", which is ironic, since it seems he can ONLY get action topics.
Isambard Zonis: Mostly picked for contrast. I wanted a sophisticated sounding name for my bum. Isambard was the first name of a major British engineer, and Zonis... I think it came from a chef's name.
Dace Balao: Keeping with my policy on the group, I'm not telling her name origin. You gents can figure it out. (Makes me wonder what meaning of Laksha Photu used, because it could be mildly ironic...)
Blaise Euler: A cross between Blaise Pascal and Leonhard Euler, two prominent mathematicians. (Sp?)
Parcimony Atlee: Now, now, now, not telling yet!

Rhys Silas Whitticker:
"Rhys" is the priest in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. I didn't like the name at the time, but I picked it because of the unusual spelling. All that is utterly irrelevant to my Rhys.
I think I got the name Silas by flipping through a bible for character name ideas. It was originally the name of some other character that I never actually used. It was also the name of that weird-ass albino guy in The Da Vinci Code. Again, the character has nothing to do with Biblical people or albinos.
Whitticker...I'm pretty sure I'd heard the name somewhere before and I liked it. I spell it differently than I'd seen it though.
Mostly, I like the three names together. ;D

You cunning devil! Note that I made those discoveries before I even realized this topic had been revived. Also how on earth did this topic get revived without my noticing? Weird. (How did I figure it out, then? I was Wikipedia'ing fish common names as part of a sudden urge to come up with a clever Gym Leader name for every element. There, suddenly, was Dace.) As for Laksha, I didn't really choose that for its meaning -- I just like the name. (So whatever irony you're talking about, Lee, I'm afraid I don't follow you.) Karttikeya, on the other hand, was a deliberately charged selection.

Well, the irony would be that Dace and Minnow are a fish themed set of names, and one of the many meanings of Laksha is "Salmon", though referring to a substance of similar color, and not the fish proper.

Choobs, I've been tipped off by a couple of reliable sources to ask you about the rule of three-letter names.

All shapeshifters who live in Cherrygrove happen to all have 3 letter names.
Sly and Rie are the major ones. I remember there being a Pon. I forgot who else is a shapeshifter.

Nat is, though I've been downplaying it for the past two years as it becomes increasingly hokey and out of place with her style and personality. Now she just "blinks" in and out of forms to dodge and heal.
I think there was one other true "Three letter Shifter", but I can't recall. Maybe it was one of Steph's characters? Or maybe somebody else...

Was that a facetious answer? 'cause as far as I recall, Gil was actually against Cherrygrove last I checked... Well, that, and can't shapeshift, either.
Six had a three letter name, but no shift (I almost typoed "Shaft". '.'), and I can't think of any other three letter names.

Oh yeah, Rie's also been less into shape shifting. She'll do it to fly, still, but since I'm on RP sabbatical, she doesn't need to fly. :3
Can't believe I forgot Nat's a shifter though.
