I'm genuinely surprised there hasn't been a topic about this yet.
For those who have no idea what I'm talking about, here's a quick overview. MBTI is a system of personality types, and there's 16 in all. Lately I've been creating characters by choosing one type and using it as a base, tweaking aspects as I see fit.
It's also fun to do it in retrospect. For example, I didn't know what MBTI was when I created Hector, but he's a solid ENFP 'til death. If we're going with the theory that he's always been an extension of myself, that makes sense because I'm also an ENFP.
Other characters:
Nadeshi: INFJ. He's soft-spoken and sensitive but very much practical in his duties as a monarch, as well as a heck of an orator when he's addressing his people. This means though, that one-on-one he comes across as aloof because he's guarded about his more personal feelings. It also means that because he's so invested in his role as king, he takes it seriously to the point that he'll exhaust himself by taking on the full burden of an entire nation's problems.
Vathalé: ISFJ. She's a humble woman who's got the tenacity of an anchor and who will protect her loved ones to the death. Never puts herself first, for better or for worse. Has a real hard time letting go of things. Vathalé's someone you want to keep in your corner, because if you somehow manage to cross her, it means facing a hell fury of bottled-up negative emotions.
Hector: ENFP as fuck. Voracious appetite to explore new possibilities? Check. Great people-person? Check. Wears his heart on his sleeves at all times? Check. Incredibly unreliable? Cheeeeeeeeeeeck.
Ivan: INFP, you'll see soon enough.
Dimitri: INTJ
post with your own, yall
(ETA: oh, do take these with a grain of salt though, there's a reason MBTI is sometimes referred to as "psychology horoscope". of course people don't rigidly adhere to one of only sixteen types, but MBTI is still fun to think about)
