Anyone else get this, or plan to?
I'm a couple hours in now. While it hasn't blown me away like ME1 and 2 have, it's still been exceptionally well done. Definitely a sequel, though, but maybe that's just because I imported by save all the way from ME1.
Multiplayer is super fun, so if anyone has the game and wants to tag team it up and kill us some Reapers, my Origins ID is ch00beh.
For anyone who has not gotten ME3, here is a trailer

Figured I'd post here since I was chatting about it last night and ended up completing it. SPOILERS AHEAD.
The main complaint I had with ME3 was that it was so directionless unless something force fed your next destination to you. If someone didn't appear and EXPLICITLY say "GO HERE NEXT IT'S A PLOT POINT", I ended up spending half my time flying around the galaxy looking for stuff to do. Building up the war assets, too, was too vague for me to get any kind of sense of where to go. Doing millions of fetch quests to get maybe another 25 to my EMS was a pain. Dodging Reapers at the time was even worse.
On the whole, though, I thought it was a pretty good game. Maybe not as amazing as ME2, but just how pretty it was made up for it. It had really good atmospheres throughout, too. Especially on Thessia and establishing Shepard's darkest hour, and showing how he's emotionally drained by the entire attempt. It had very, very good characterisation and development, which was really nice to see. It almost made up for how simplistic the battles got.
I must admit, I found the game, on the whole, easier than ME2. Put Pyro/Cryo ammo on, have your party members flank and just go in all guns blazing with an assault rifle or submachine gun and pretty much all encounters are won, aside from things like Brutes or Banshees. Using the Black Widow late-game to tear stuff apart was lots of fun, though.
As for the ending, I don't get why everyone's complaining. I'll just copy paste what I put on facebook here:
"it was NO different to the ending of DA2. in fact, ME3's ending at least gave a sense of what happened and the scale, DA2 just had varric saying "btw lol war". the only different is that DA2 has the promise of a sequel. hell, ME3's ending was BETTER because you at least got that length scene right before the final final FMV sequence which explained bunches. it gives enough information to get a sense of what happened to everyone too, and the implications drawn from the FMV are pretty obvious too."
And just to round off, Male!Shep and Kaidan's romance is absolutely adorable.

DA2 was pretty terrible, too, so that's a bad measuring stick.
But yeah, I agree with the completely meh main plot, but I was okay with it because I set my expectations low as soon as the Crucible was revealed to be a thing that would be happening, then I set my expectations lower when I started seeing hints that the Crucible would be a cosmic reset. So essentially, I was fine with it all because it could have been worse.
And yeah, the game was pretty easy, but I think that's just because ME2 relied on bloated HP bars. Played an adept and there are like 1109351058 new ways to set off biotic explosions and getting tossed around completely screws with the AI's team tactics which are actually pretty good. You see this more if you play multiplayer on a higher difficulty.
What system do you have it for? If on PC, we should get some MP rounds in because it is super funzies.

I'm on Xbox D:
A lot of the stuff that happened right at the end of the game wasn't so much hinted as it was laid out in plain. I figured out big parts of what'd happen in the end within the first couple hours, especially with the Mass Relays and stuff.
Playing as a Vanguard with a sniper rifle, assault rifle, submachine gun, shockwave and pull was pretty much just the easiest thing.

that's a lot of weapons. Whenever I play vanguard in MP, I go pistol only and just charge->nova->charge->nova ad infinitum

Pistols are too slow for me. I go with assault rifles and submachine guns for more dakka. Sniper rifles for Banshees and Brutes.
Just found the space hamster. My life is complete.

Infiltrator. All day, errday.
I was disappointed in the ending. Gameplay was fun and multiplayer is great, but the ending turned the choices of 3 games and countless hours of playtime into "pick where you want to get shot." Your options are in the head, in the heart, or in the genitals. Not only were the endings depressing, there were a shitload of unanswered questions. I understand that there's a war going on and blahblahblah, but in a fantasy game it's nice when something unrealistic happens like peace working and having a happy ending.

your first mistake was trying to shoot things with the pistol with a power-heavy class.
You carry a pistol because they won't let you go without a gun. You wear armor because they won't let you go in naked.
(no but seriously, salarian infiltrator with only a widow is the only way to play)

Is the Widow the really big sniper rifle from ME2? Because fuck I loved that thing, but it needed like 3 times as much ammo to be properly useful in a level.

The widow is the really big sniper rifle in ME2. It's great for MP once you've memorized the ammo bin locations so you can cloak and resupply as needed.
Also, it's fine in ME3 because each upgrade gives more ammo, and you can also mod the gun to hold more clips. I think I've seen people with up to 27 shots or so in it. There's also the added benefit that the widow has an inherent cover piercing buff.
Although, I would like to get a javelin. Apparently it has the same power as a widow, the same piercing buff, and on top of that, has an infrared scope so you know what you're actually hitting.

I plan to get it on the PC <3
I convinced Ryan to start with the irst ME though, so it may take some time. We're not even that far into that one, because I am having a case of hideous indecision over what class to be. They all look so exciting I don't know which to pick ;.;

In ME1, biotics are super fun and pretty broken at the high levels. I think everyone agrees that vanguard is the most effective class due to being strong enough to take a hit, access to most offensive biotic talents, and shotguns being poorly balanced. I personally love infiltrator, too, just because sniper rifles, but sniper rifles have a learning curve due to the inaccuracy mechanic. Soldier I found boring, sentinel was interesting due to biotics, and engineers start off really great but don't scale well at all.
In ME2, soldier is the most effective but the one I found most boring. Due to the way combat and classes were revamped, vanguard is super hard to play, but pretty satisfying if you get the hang of it, and biotics in general are useless if you play on higher difficulties. Except for warp. Warp went from meh in ME1 to the best power in ME2 because it explodes when used in biotic combos. So I'd say for me, ME2's a toss up between adept, sentinel, and infiltrator.
ME3 I only played once, and it was with an adept with an automatic sniper rifle/assault rifle hybrid. It was incredibly fun, despite the higher difficulty, since enemies were now longer 100% immune to powers when protected, unless they had good reason. For MP, my favorite is salarian infiltrator. I want to try krogan vanguard sometime, though, and get better with human sentinel. Krogan sentinel is also super fun, and so is human vanguard, but human vanguard ends up being a liability past wave 6.

I always go infiltrator, though I think I did replay ME2 as a soldier once.

Finished my first gold match which wasn't just fighting geth in Firebase White. I came in last place, but the good news is that a turian sentinel specced for power spamming and absorbing all the damage is pretty cool.
I've been doing a lot of sentinel playing lately. Dunno why. Probably because I promoted my infiltrator and don't really want to level them up again.
Also, krogan vanguard is pretty fun.

I like playing as the Quarian Engineer. Spamming turrets is awesome.

Yeah I want either a geth or quarians engineer for turret spam. I've seen people rape face with the salarian using decoy, but I cannot for the life of me figure it out.
I think right now what I want most is a geth infiltrator and spec it for using a claymore.

I handed my turian sentinel a revenant. It was like being alien!Rambo what with just taking explosions to the face and shrugging them off while pouring shards of metal into the battlefield.
I'm not sure if I like just revenant or geth pulse rifle + scoped carnifex better. Revenant just has too much power for me to give up, but pulse rifle in the hands of a turian has zero kickback.

Just reviving this now that I'm getting good at multiplayer with more classes
Current favourites are the Salarian Infiltrator, N7 Demolisher and Quarian Male Infiltrator. I don't even equip sniper rifles any more, I just put a scope on a paladin and fire away. Instant reload and very little recoil.
Also I tried the revenant/turian sentinel combination. It is amazeballs.
Just unlocked the Geth Trooper on my flat mate's multiplayer, sort of want to try it out but at the same time it doesn't look fantastic and I really don't like hunter mode.

I haven't played in a while, but apparently I stopped posting in this thread before I got the krogan vanguard which is like playing as a freight train of pain

Krogan Vanguard is mad fun. Being able to Biotic Charge then Heavy Melee a Brute to death is fun.

Krogan Warlord is literally the best class. No ammo needed. Just spam heavy melee.
