Okay, another one of Lee's dozens of projects: I've been working on a Pokemon Tabletop RPG. I've been dreaming of selling it, but realistically, I'll prolly just give it to Pokecharms for distribution.
Anyways, I'm looking for a font that "feels Pokemon". I don't know yet if I want to go with the somewhat rough, scratchy feel of the first manual, the sleeker, modernized feel of the GSC games, or the much more finalized slickness of the series from the gematics onwards.
Are there any suggestions on what I should go with? I'm personally most fond of the roughness of the first manual, looking like a somewhat weatherworn guide, possibly handwritten. It gives the feeling of adventure to the text, but I'm concerned that such a scratchy, rough looking font would become displeasing to the eyes.
The other two are much smoother, so the choice would just be between "Slick" and "Slick with more rounded edges". So, I dunno. As I said, fonts?

Don't have Helvetica on here currently, but Arial Narrow was the font I'd been looking at, and the two are wicked close. It's not shabby. Looks like a GSC aesthetic I'll be shooting for.
(actually, I think Pokemon cards were in Arial, but I could be wrong.)

Comic saaaaaans. It really captures child like wonder papyruuuuuus. It's a really good exotic looking font for adventures.
No.
Anyway, helvetica is too utalitarian for this. Unless you're talking about body text, then helvetica world or trebuchet would work.
I'll need a computer to look through dafont.com for a good title text.

I know a guy who knows a guy who was looking to do something like this. I don't think he was looking to market it, though.
This is not really a relevant post.
