Far, far out in the earths outermost orbit, closer to the moon and the blue planet itself. In the dark, eternal emptiness of space, something white and huge suddenly blinked into existence with a flurry of energy and a blue flash of sapphire light. And any observer who took it upon himself to investigate that flash of light, would find a new space station in orbit, proudly declaring its name as 'Second Earth' to all who viewed it. The giant counter rotating causer obviously provided earth normal gravity for those who were on board, but questions arise to the size of the station and its obvious technological advancement, far beyond anything earth could do here today.
But the inside of the station was far beyond these base questions, as each person there-in took the existence of the station for granted. Instead, the masses within the station, fearful for they're lives, were wondering where they were and why they were there. So far from the dead, blue planet that they knew, and hovering inexplicably a lively green planet so far below them. Further still, all clocks on the station were in chaos, seeing as they kept track of time through the echo's of the big bang, everything had been thrown for a loop. And slowly, so very slowly, it dawned on them. They'd been thrown backwards and sideways through the corridors, known as time. Here it was, they're glorious second chance to put right what was terribly wrong with they're world. To live in balance with the world instead of being destroyed by it.
But almost as soon as this dream was realized, their were those who opposed it. Saying that no one should interfere with this alternate time line and these alternate people, and saying also we had no idea of what was down there, waiting for them. Many listened, and, not wishing to repeat mistakes of the past, took careful precautions to they're approach. However, approach they did, as they would not be dissuaded from they're desired. And some, well, some approached more brashly than others.

"Shit! Holy fuck!" Reaper yelled, cramped into his pilots seat as his shuttle plumetted towards the ground. "I'm seriously gonna fucking crash!" He choked, pulling hard on the control stick. The shuttle was rapidly loosing altitude, and, on top of that, it was screaming along right above a heavily forested area. If he dropped into that crap, it'd tear apart the whole craft, and that'd be it for him. Desperately, Reaper checked the sensors and the ground around him for a safe zone to land in.
"Reaper!" Aion screamed from the back, "Pulling up would be a good idea!!" She screamed.
"I know, I know! You wanna be doing this!?" He yelled back, yanking on the control sticks and riding the throttle, which was only half reliable in its current condition. "Shit shit!" He yelled, all the control consoles were going crazy at him, little lights flashing next to LED diagrams of the ships systems. They weren't helping his focus at all, until one of them caught his eye that is. The computer had located a very crude GPS mapping system, and was pointing him towards a decent stretch of clearing. It was a little ways away, but he might be able to make it. Hope restored, he looked at Aion over his shoulder.
"Hang on, I found a spot, but this is gonna be rough!" He yelled to her. She nodded in response, and held on a hell of a lot tighter to her seat straps. Reaper banked hard to the left, the smoking path behind the ship accentuating the suddenness of the roll, and punched the throttle. The shuttles barely reliable thrusters skipped every second, only barely keeping them in the air, but he could see the ground and his landing patch rapidly approaching.
"HANG ON!" He screamed, bracing himself. Aion clamped her jaw shut and forced herself back into her seat instinctively. The shuttle hit the ground with a dull boom, the force of the explosion knocking tree's over at the edge of the clearing. Then everything was still...
Reaper punched at the secure foam around him, having saved him it was now doing its level best to suffocate him. Aion punched her way out of her restrictive cocoon as well.
"Where the hell are we?" She asked.
Reaper shrugged in response, and moved to the cargo holds in the back of the ship. "Well our Armor Shrikes are intact at least." He said, gesturing to the two 12 foot tall pieces of advanced total encasement armor. "We should be able to ride these out of here, they're fully charged anyways. Though I've no idea how we'd go about charing them on this planet once the power levels run out." Reaper said.
Aion shrugged, "We can always recharge them on solar power. None of those monsters are here, so the longer charge time shouldn't be an issue. Unless this place has other problems. They did say sideways right?" She asked.
"Yeah," Reaper responded, "Backwards and sideways through time. Its not impossible that we've entered an alternate time track. Or an alternate dimension if you want to say that."
Aion looked disturbed, but shook it off and moved to the back of the shuttle quickly. "Well, no use worrying about it now." She said, "Lets just worry about our lives." Reaper nodded, climbing into his Shrike as she punched the rear doors open.
"Lets get out of here." He said, pulling on his helmet.
"I'm all for that!" Aion said crisply, sliding into her Shrike as well, which had an unusual snow motif on it.
Reaper shook his head, "I'll always say it."
"Yes, I know, I know." Aion said, rolling her eye's and pulling her helmet on. "The motif makes me to visible."
"And its nearly gotten us killed from time to time." Reaper said bluntly. "Could you please change it, for the love of god." He asked.
"No." Aion said simply, as she rode her Shrike out the door.
