Marcus took a deep breath of the cool sea air, letting it wash over him. It'd been a long time since he'd matched his green eye's to the wild green hues of the sea. It felt good to be back on the coastline, beside the mountains. But, despite the cool atmosphere, he wasn't as comftorble as he appeared. Within him, his guts spasmed with tension, and his stomach churned, as every step brough him closer to home. He knew his family was long dead, but there was one thing in the ruined house he hoped to retreive from its long cold ashes. Something he father had dangled out of reach when he was but a child.
Marcus walked briskly down the path, between the tall oak tree's and through the woods. He wore a bandana around his head, hoping to hide the strange mark on his brow, should he run into anyone else this far from civilization. Still, it would be blatantly obvious that he was out of place, considering the Silver Longsword on his hip, and the black and gold jacket covering his chest.
Finally, he reached the crest of the last ridge, and beheld the ruins of his familys estate. It was quite large, but mostly grounds. The house itself was rather small, a kitched, his parents room, and his room. Outside was where all the important facilities were. A large wooden sparring ring, fields of grass he remembered playing in. Sadly, he hadn't been old enough to learn the martial arts of his family. They'd been killed by some unknown force before he'd grown old enough to even take an interest in such things.
But in the times since then, he'd trained himself as best he could, though he'd only ever been a mediocre swordsmen, and many times he'd nearly lost his life because of it. He walked through the ruins of his house, his heart tearing in two, until he found the place where he remembered his father had died, pinned to the floor under the cruel sword what had taken his mothers life as well.
He looked through the ashes, wondering how much of his father still remained, until he found what he was looking for. It was as brilliant as ever, and emerald orb with a lattice of gold around it, shining brilliantly in the sunlight. He was glad to see the silver chain was intact as well. He got on his knee's, the emerald necklace wrapped tightly in his fist, and thanked his fathered spirit, where-ever he was. Solumly, he slipped the necklace over his head, and hung it around his neck.
It hung there, belonging to him immidiately, like a lost piece of his soul. Marcus found tears in his eye's as he got to his feet, but would let them flow no more. A warrior has no tears. He thought. My father endowed me with at least that much knowledge, before he died. And then, once more the question came. Where do I go, what do I do know?

Kuri watched as the young man, travelled into the estate she had been observing for a few hours. She had landed on earth a day ago, ready to take her place on earth. Kuri jumped to her feet, and jumped gracefully into the air, off the cliffside she was on. She fell a few feet, before she span and kicked out her legs into the cliff wall, kicking her off into a back flip, she landed crouched to the floor. Kuri, again jumped to her feet and brushed herself off, and walked in the direction of the young man she had seen.
"Who might you be?" Her angelic voice called out.

Marcus whipped around, hus sword singing sweetly as it flew out of its sheath. He stopped short when he was the red headed women, a few meters away. She looked dangerous, but she didn't seem to intend him any harm. He reached up reflexively to caress the emerald now worn around his neck, and then spoke. "I'm Marcus, of the fallen Lotus clan." He said warily. "Who are you, and what curiosity has brought you to the ruins of my home?" He asked, careful not to lower the point of his sword for a single second. Until he knew why she was here, he didn't intend to lower the sword. For all he knew, she was an assassin, back to finish the job.

"I am Kuri, last of the Adepts." she replied simply, looking at the tip of the sword pointing at her. "It its a fight your looking for, a fight you shall get," she stated, putting a hand on the hilt of her sword.

Marcus' mouth came up in a hint of a grin. "You came out of no-where, your standing in the ruins of my familys estate, your armed to the teeth, and you radiate power on a scale I usually try to avoid." Marcus said. "What the hell am I suppost to think, that your a welcoming comittie?"

"Maybe, maybe not." She replied simple. "I... landed near here a few days ago, I've been observing this bit of land for some time, what happened here?" Kuri asked, as she drew her Flamberge slowly, she held it casually in her hand the tip scraping the floor slightly, waiting to see if this man would attack.

"A few years ago, my clan, my family, was attacked and wiped out by assassins." He said simply. "They destroyed everything." He gestured at the remains of the house, mostly covered by grass and vines now. Hesitantly, he resheathed his sword, but still didn't take his eye's off the woman. Cautiously, he went through the remainder of his house, casting glances over his shoulder, wary of recieving a knife in the back.
Cuiously, he found a trap door in his parents room, leading to a small cellar area. He climbed down, and, to his amazement, found a suit of ninja armor there. It was dark green, with red trimming. He stared at it in wonder, thinking. Was this my fathers? He asked himself, searching for answers. Glancing upwards, he couldn't see the woman Kuri, so he undressed, and pulled on the black ninja clothing, the sandles, and the armor. It sat on his body as though it were made for him, and the menacing claws on the left hand were an added bonus. He climbed out of the cellar with the helmet under his arm, a transformed person.
He shrugged the armor more comftorbly into place, as he wasn't really used to it. But it felt alright, and it may save him some injury in the future. He cast an eye over at Kuri, trying to guage her reaction.

"Hm, pretty nice." Kuri said, as she cast her eyes on Marcus, who had just come back. She still held her sword in her hand, but a bit less casual now. "So, decided if you want to kill me yet?" Kuri asked with a hint of amusement in her voice.

"You don't hurt me, I don't hurt you. First law of martial arts. Only kill in the ugent defence of yourself or others." Marcus said. "So no, I'm not going to kill you. Not unless you try to kill me." More humbly, he added. "Though, I doubt I would prove to be a fit match for you in combat. I'm but a mediocre swordsmen, my family long dead by the time I aged enough to learn the arts." He looked sad now. "And that's not counting in the power I can sense from you, even with my weak spirit."

Kuri slowly sheathed her sword, and dropped to the floor sitting on the grass. "So you never looked for training?" She asked, "You just tried to get by on experience?"

Marcus nodded. "I can learn no other style exept that of my family. This is not a personal choice, but rather, a blood trait that was added to my genetics before my birth by one of my parents." He said. That much of his school he knew, the children always carried on the parents wishes because they hungered always to do so. Even without the blood techniques, his genetics were evolved perfectly for war. He'd hunger for the knowledge anyways. "Honestly, there are two reasons I came up here. This first, and most obvious, is the emerald necklace you now see hanging around my neck." He said, holding it out for her to see, though not letting it leave its place from around his neck. "And the second, was to search for any texts detailing the martial techniques of my family." He said, now looking somewhat depressed. "Of which none seem to remain."

Kuri stayed silent, as she observed the amulet, it looked powerful. But she would keep that to herself for now. "Maybe you should hunt these..." she paused thinking for the right word, "people." she finished. OOC- Next time, give me something to work with. SOMETHING TO KILL so my posts are not 4 lines long

"Can't hunt what you can't see, and its not like they'd show themselves to me anyways." He said, ironically. A man appeared from the shadows behind him, and grabbed his neck. He seemed to be grabbing at Marcus' necklace. "Shibata!" Marcus barked, reverting to the small amount of japanese he knew. He pulled out his sword, and shoved it backhanded into the man's ribcage. He let go, and Marcus dived forwards and out of the way. There were five ninja behind him, all intent on killing him it seemed.
He dived out of the way as five kunai came flying his way. "Oh great, I have ninja chasing me." He said sarcastically. He took to his heels and ran away, into the forest. He could sense the ninja chasing him, but he didn't look back. If he did, he knew he'd only die.

Kuri sighed, and then teleported directly behind Marcus, grabbing his shirt as she landed on the ground.
"Stand your ground fool, or you'll never learn." Krui whispered and turned drawing her sword, waiting for the Ninja's. They appeared a few seconds later, and in seconds one had lost his leg. Kuri had jumped at high speed and swung fast and hard at one of the ninja's legs. Effectively stopping them. She turned quickly and held her free palm out, freezing the ground under the next one's feat, holding him in place.
"Your turn." She said simply, to Marcus.

Marcus slashed at the ninja, but as soon as his sword connected he went up in smoke. Likewise, the ninja Kuri has cut were both but block of wood on the ground. Marcus sighed. "Ninja don't attack openly you know." He said to Kuri, then turned around to run again, but instead found his legs sunk half a foot into the solid stone earth. "Shit!" He yelled. He stabbed at the rock, but it was to hard for him to break. He looked at Kuri in desperation, but saw that she had her own problems.
She'd had several kunai with explosive tags on them thrown into the ground around her, and they were about to go off. Marcus ducked and covered his head. "This is going to hurt."

Kuri teleported twice in quick succession, once to Marcus, the second out of the way of the blast.
"Hm, no point fighting for now," Kuri muttered, and teleported both back to where they started, Marcus's estate. "If they try again, we hide and follow them? Maybe they can lead us to your family's killers." she asked.

"I think its more likely that they'd just kill us." Marcus said. "Its hard to hide from a ninja, its their art, not ours." He looked around. "I wonder what they were after anyways, they could've killed me long ago." He started pacing, wonding what was going on. "What do you think Kuri?"

“Your little trinket of course,” Kuri answered, pointing to the necklace around Marcus’s neck. “Perhaps is contains some sort of power they or you can unlock.” She added.

Marcus looked doubtful. "What, this thing?" He asked, holding up the necklace. "It's only a momento, my father carried it with him all the time. And it doesn't really feel powerful at all." He examined it curiously. "I suppose they could be after the emerald, they are quite valuable. But I don't see any reason why..." He trailed off slowly, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. A kunai landed in front of his feet, and a second later, he was pinned to the wall by another ninja. "Give me the achive!" The snarling man yelled in his face. Marcus kicked him in the nuts and punched him in the head, then kicked him squarely in the chest, landing on his ass at the base of the wall. He quickly picked himself up and ran off into the tree's. "THIS SUCKS!"
