Aurora sat at a grim bar in an outpost in the middle of nowhere. Well not in the middle of nowhere, he was actually in the middle of one of the only remaining dragon reserves on Earth.
In truth Aurora thought that there shouldn’t be reserves at all, but he knew they were needed, when the Dragon’s were free, they wrecked havoc on cities and mankind. The reserve in Aurora’s eyes made his job easier. Even Aurora had trouble with most dragons.
He was here to investigate numerous reports that had reached him; the dragons seemed to be becoming very violent, more violent than they were anyway. They were attacking the outposts scattered around the reserve, Aurora sat in one of the few remaining one’s. So that’s why Aurora was here, he was here to find out why the dragons had become psycho, and to put a stop to it.
Aurora stood suddenly, draining the rest of the drink sat in front of him, and threw a few coins on the counter before exiting, his bag that he had brought slung on his shoulder. A motorbike stood across the dirt road, Aurora’s motorbike. He jogged over to it, straddled it and started her up before speeding forward, away from the outpost in search of the dragon’s he was looking for.
It was strange, normally you could see them in the sky all day, but they had seemed to retreat to the near by mountains once a week, either to breed, or sleep god knows what. Or so Aurora though, his ‘danger’ sense tinged in his mind, and Aurora swerved just as a black fireball impacted on the ground where he had been seconds before, he wasn’t fast enough to get away though, the ground exploded, and Aurora along with his bike were thrown into the air, Aurora hit the ground hard, so did his bike, which exploded on impact.
Aurora rolled over, he only got a glance at the massive black dragon, before he rolled quickly again as it’s claw came slashing at him, another near miss from death, Aurora screamed out as three claw marks were etched into his back and his robe and bag torn off and cast aside.
Aurora knew he wouldn’t win this one, he doubted he would be allowed to stand, and he was sure this Dragon’s claws were poisonous, he hadn’t been expecting that. He reached into the pocket of his shirt, and produced a gem, he squeezed it with his remaining strength muttering words in harsh, ragged breath before it burst into light, a small force field encompassed his body, the gem strong enough to hold anything the dragon threw at it. It pulsed with light, a beacon. Summoning all who could here it’s call to him, to help him in his time of need.

A beam of harsh, violet light cut across the sky, impacting against the fragile skin of the dragons wing, quickly tearing a hole in it. The dragon screamed and quickly came down for a landing, and Vincent quickly made his was over to Aurora, panting quite harshly. "Man...that always takes the breath right out of me. Your Aurora yes? I've seen you on TV a few times, my name is Vincent. And no, I have no relation to the man who just flashed through your mind. I'm, a telepath, and I differ a little bit from the norm to, so that won't tell you much." He said. "But I hope more help is on the way, I don't know about you, but a dragon is way beyond me."

“Don’t worry about the help, you’ve saved me already.” Aurora replied, his voice still breaking from the pain, but that was quickly sorted, as his force field was sucked into his body, healing his wounds, and giving him the energy he needed. He climbed to his feet quickly, the dragon leering at him.
“You tore the hole in its wing?” Aurora asked, “Good, he’s grounded makes things a little easier.” He carried on, not waiting for an answer. He flicked his hand casually, his sword huge katana, Odinthrana, materialising out of nowhere, in truth his sword wasn’t originally a katana, but a Viking Long sword, but he preferred the katana, so Odinthrana had morphed to one, a huge one at that.
“Stay close, if he breaths fire get ou-,” Aurora couldn’t finish, because at that precise moment, the dragon had indeed shot a constant stream of fire, right at Vincent. Aurora shifted getting in between the two, he thrust his palm out quickly a huge beam of white ice firing, impacting with the dragon’s fire holding it at bay, with a few muttered words, Aurora’s beam exploded, bursting through the dragon’s attack and smashing into its jaw.
“Now attack.” Aurora commanded, running in his sword held high..

"Attack?" Vincent said. "Are you insane? That attack just now took pretty much everything out of me!" He yelled, then stopped to pant for a moment. Aurora was already far ahead of him. "Shit." Vincent focused, bending the fabric of the universe, and shot forwards hovering several feet off the ground, a black sword of solidified energy forming in his hand. He struck at the dragon, putting nothing more than a scratched on one of its scales, the quickly climbed to avoid getting his body bitten off his feet. "Jesus this is insane!" He yelled. The dragon struck at him, he responded by quickly bending a shield around himself, which broke as soon as the dragon made contact, sending Vincent screaming into the ground with a great 'BANG'. He coughed violently, blood dribbling down his chin, along with the wounds in his forhead. "Ouch." He said feebly, then quickly pulled himself out of the hole as he saw the dragon prepare to breath another fireball.

"Dragons, hrm?" There was a loud whoosh as a young woman descended. Helen Mercury, still in her stage uniform, had arrived. Her pink outfit stood out like a sore thumb in the drab landscape, and the dragon was very quick to notice her. She readied herself, glaring straight into the beast's eyes. No mercy this time. She had be strong and decisive. She threw a pair of dice into the air, the duo dissolving in a cloud of sparkles.
"Evens and odds, Hammer of gods!"
With that, a tremendous green mallet of energy manifested in the air above them. It swung down like a pendulum, plowing through the dragon and sending it sprawling sideways. The hammer then shattered into thousands of bits of verdant energy, the spell's duration used up. The dragon regained its footing, and began to approach the group once more.
"Somebody, give me a delay here! I need to whip up another incantation!" Helen desperately glanced around, trying to think of a rhyming scheme before she became lunch. At least something that rhymed with "extinguish" would be nice.

“If you are drained, please don’t engage the Dragon in direct combat,” Aurora called behind him seriously to Vincent, “I don’t want to be responsible for another death.” Aurora stepped forward, his sword high, about to unleash an attack, when someone else appeared, coming to his aid. He watched, as she spent the Dragon sprawling across the ground, and then asking for aid.
“As you wish.” He called in reply, as he jumped into action, he ran in front of the two others with him shielding them from the Dragon’s view. It now concentrated solely on him. Aurora turned his sword, and plunged it into the ground beside him and brought his two hands above his head, his eyes closed, muttering enchantments of old, and spells from his world. The ground from underneath the dragon, started to split and rumble. Huge spires of ice shot from the ground, underneath the Dragon, making it recoil several times, and roar in pain as it tried to get clear of the now chasm-ed ground.
He lowered his hand and grabbed the hilt of his katana, and pulled it from the ground, spinning it round back to fighting stance, his was about to run in when something flashed in between the eyes of the Dragon.
“What the hell is that?” Aurora asked, to no one in particular, it looked like a rune of some sort. Not one he had seen before, but maybe this was a lead to why the Dragon’s behaviour had become dangerous, even more hostile than before.

"Alright, this is your problem now guys! Sorry, but like I said, this is way beyond me." Vincent floated a few feet above the ground, and a shell that looked like a wiked sort of fighter ship slowly began to form around him. The cockpit quite grey, but the matter surrounding it, blue, and insubstantial. It slowly began to glow, and Vincent shot off at a good clip. A few dragons took to the air, making to follow him. But Vincent was far to fast, and he was gone before they even made it to his altitude.

"Well, if we didn't get enough hostile attention, here comes Mister Psion to ensure that the hornet's nest is all stirred up." Helen focused, and began moving her mouth wordlessly. She removed her hat, and produced a small plastic bag filled with dirt.
"Loam of a field, My weapon to wield!"
The soil vanished, and Helen's trademark broadsword appeared in her hands, glowing brilliantly. At least now she had something to protect herself with. Not much, but it could buy her a little time for incantations. She began mumbling again, trying to discern her next sorcery to be unleashed.
The dragon dedicated enough attention to her to send a pulsating fireball her way. Helen rolled clear, the attack sizzling by her and exploding when it struck a large boulder behind her. Helen bounced to her feet, and readied her broadsword again. She stuck her hand into her hat once more, and this time, recited the incantation while drawing the item.
"Widow's black shawl, From the skies wrath will fall!"
Helen honestly had no idea what she would accomplish with the incantation. She usually focused the magic through her own mental interpretation of the incantation, but this time, she had just recited something scary sounding. A large blinking light appeared in the skies, like a brilliant star, and Helen took a few steps back. She didn't want to be around when the wrath hit the drake.
Moments later, there was a earth-shattering roar as a colossal column of energy came streaming down from the heavens. It barrelled down on the dragon, knocking it flat onto its stomach. There was a small explosion, and when the light and dust settled, the dragon rose again, relatively unscathed by the attack. Its scales were charred, but Helen had barely accomplished doing any real damage.
