Marcus tapped the end of his pencil on his notebook, gloomily looking at the professor on the floor. The man was impatiently trying to explain why quantum physics didn't allow for the existence of magic, though it had been plainly evidenced in the worlds eye's several times before. It was then that he noticed a red robed man walking up the stairs to the row he was sitting in. He started tracking him, then stopped short for a moment, taken by the fact that no one else seemed to have noticed him. His friend David tapped him on the shoulder. "Hey, when do you think this guy is gonna stop?" He asked. Marcus grinned, "You know the Professor, he'll keep going until he's blue in the face. Its hard to believe he denies the existence of magic, he's ignoring the fact that the South Pole Summoners have made their presence known many times, and how else would you explain the Divine Dragon, or Prime for that matter."
"True, true." Dave said, "So why don't you tell him that?" Marcus gave him 'the look'. "Not a chance, you do it. I have enough work without doing another 'why quantum physics disallows the existence of summons.' Its to much, anyways, I have a question to pose you now. Why do you suppose that man in red is in here?" He asked. "What man in red?" Dave said, confused. "I don't see anyone." Marcus frowned. "But he's right there, you really can't see him?" David looked at him with a worried expression. "Are you alright Marcus? Maybe you should go home." Marcus frowned, then looked back at the man in red. The man motioned for Marcus to follow him, then walked out of the room. "Yeah." Marcus said. "Yeah I think I will." He got up and walked down the isle.
"And just where do you think your going Mark?" The Professor shot at him. "Its Marcus sir." He responded automatically. "And I'm just headed to the bathroom." The Professor looked at him suspiciously, but Marcus just shrugged and walked out of the room, into the hallway. He looked around, and located the man in red near the end of the hall. He hurried down the hall, and stopped in front of the man. "Alright, who are you? And why couldn't my classmates see you?" He asked sharply. The man in red smiled. "The cannot see me because I am not of this demension, nor are you." He said. "What?" Marcus asked, confused. "I can say no more. Take this." The red man said, handing Marcus a longsword with a white blade. "This sword is called Tribunal, it is yours now, it will amplify your power. Now prepare yourself, for only your latent skill in magic will save you in the coming moments." He said.
He held his hands together, and a blue orb slowly formed between then, as smooth as glass, and as clear as water. It slowly stretched outwards from his hands, Marcus stumbling back quickly, but not quickly enough to avoid being encompassed by it. He stopped, and looked at the orb around him and the man in red, then ducked as an explosion went off about twenty feet way, in his class room. "David!" Marcus yelled, and took off down the hall, back into his classroom. "David! David!" The room was chaos, the Professor had been crushed by fallen concrete, and several of his classmates were in the same position. He hurried up the isle to David's seat, and found him there motionless, covered with blood, a steel I beam forced through his chest. "David! Wake up David!" He yelled, shaking him. "Wake up man!" He raised his arm to smack Dave across the face, but found the red robed man's hand holding him back.
"Stop. He's dead. You have to think of yourself now." He said. Marcus growled, and spun around, launching his fist right into the man's jaw. "WHY! Why didn't you tell me sooner? I could've saved him!" Marcus yelled. The red robed man climbed back to his feet. "You will understand soon enough, my King. But for the moment we have other problems." He said. "What?" A crash echoed through the hallways outside, and Marcus spun around. Some kind of demon walked through the door. Its eye's, as cold as death, quickly found Marcus. It turned its spiked, iron hard body towards him, drawing a massive sword. Marcus instantly found Tribunal in his hands, singing its own song of death, silently urging Marcus on within his own mind.
Without thinking, Marcus charged forwards at the urging of his blade. The demon slashed at Marcus, but he hit the deck rolling, dodging under the demon's sword, then came back to his feet and stabbed his blade into the demon's open mouth. As he pulled the blade out, he suddenly came back to himself, and dropped the sword. "What? I?" He stuttered, the scrambled back, afraid both of the demon, and the action he'd just taken. The man in red walked up beside him, "This is no time for fear, take up your sword now, there will be more!" He said. Marcus quickly came to his feet, and picked up the white sword. "What do I do?" He muttered, in an almost blind panic. "What?" The white blade dripped with black blood, and looking at it just made his bile rise.
"Now we leave." The red robed man said. "Its time for you to return home. I regret that these two worlds shall now be joined, but it cannot be helped." He took out a golden orb from within the robes, and dropped it to the floor. Instantly it began to produce golden water, which flowed out and began to cover the college in a massive whorl-pool. The orb itself rapidly became a portal, swallowing both Marcus and the red robed man, along with the school itself.
In their wake, the whorl-pool and the portal both remained.
OOC: Through the portal you'll find a purple sky, blue grass on the ground. The tree's generally have blue or red petals, and mostly its red or white bark. Directly through the portal are the remains of the college, along with Marcus, the red robed man is no-where to be seen. You will be unable to see Marcus' sword, as only he and those trained in this demensions style of magic will be able to see it. This portal will remain eternally open, connecting Earth and Marcus' world, Illyra. Be aware that the rules are different in Illyra, and while magically based characters will retain the greater part of their power, psionic characters will be almost totally powerless. Also, all high forms of technology are useless in Illyra. (Computers, nanobots, plasma cannons, things like that.) Also take note that Illyra is plagued by demons. So feel free to have fun while Marcus is out cold. (Cuz he is.) And stuff.
