OOC: Okay, only two more RPs out of me before July, I promise. Then I focus on finishing a bunch of stuff. Just had a bunch of backlogged ideas (and ideas I'm helping with) to get out of the way right now.
BIC: The cold spring air tore through the branches of the scrub pines, whistling to accompany the roaring of the waters rushing through the canal. A lone girl, with an extremely trim build, was meandering alongside the waterway, walking opposite the flow.
She stepped up to the edge of the river, purple pigtails bobbing, and extended a hand. With a flick of the wrist, she tossed a ball of wadded up paper twenty feet out. It immediately was whisked away, tumbling through the turbulent waters. The girl watched silently, tapping on her wrist to count the time. After thirty seconds, she stopped counting, and looked dowstream.
"Okay. Should be fine, I think," She nervously adjusted her sweater, glancing at the canal once more. She could use one of the old bridges to cross, but that'd take a lot of time. She'd be late for her appointment. This... though much more frightening, was much more expedient. She took a deep breath, and then stepped forwards.
Her foot was placed firmly on the surface of the water, and began heading downstream. Quickly compensating for the movement, she put her other flipflop forwards. Putting her full weight on the surface of the water, she began briskly walking across the torrent.
Okay, Ringo, here we go. Nice and easy. Like walking the wrong way on an escalator. She steadied herself, extending both hands to either side, and began to increase her pace. Well, except for the part that if you fall on your knee or your hands or something, you drown. But other than that, well, just dandy.
She hopped over a wave, bracing her hands on her knees as she landed on both feet. She glanced back towards the shore she had come from. The steep bank was in the distance now, despite the seeming lack of time since she had started walking. She was past the halfway point now.
Okay, so far so good. Keep up like this, and we'll be through before we know it... Ringo brushed a few stray purple hairs out of her face, and sighed in dismay as they immediately fluttered back into place.
Okay, shore's here now. Take it slow- She stepped deliberately forwards with her right foot, planting it securely on the water. Her left followed, and would have gone perfectly had it not snagged on a ripple. She tumbled forwards, landing halfway on the bank and halfway in the shallows.
"Blagh!" Ringo jumped out of the water, landing on her hands and knees on the rocky ground. She paused for a moment, unsure of if to be elated about making the difficult crossing, or aggravated by failing so close to the end. After much deliberation, she settled upon neutrality as a balance between the two.
She rose to her feet, and began hiking along the rough terrain until she came to the end of the canal. Sitting at a moderately sized dinghy, slouched on the middle bench, was a blue haired girl. She was rocking back and forth impatiently, as if the boat's immobile perch on the beach's sand made her uncomfortable.
"Kaelin... Well, I'm a bit late, but I'm here," Ringo embarassedly indicated the soaked legs of her jeans.
"You wouldn't happen to have a drying spell, would you? I still haven't learned like any of that elemental stuff."
OOC: Oddly enough, Tsubota's daughter is acting like Rule 63 on Terrian.
Location: Southern edge of Cape Cod, the shore.
Power Level: Low, most likely. Topic Goals: Getting some summons for our lovely ladies here. Or at least Kaelin, and maybe Ringo if I think of something.
EDIT: Changed for a more Lee-style name.
