Hey dudes. What's shaking?
I know I'm not well known on these boards. Prime, Lee, and...I dunno...V101 and asmo know me, I guess. Point being: I am sexy.
I was RedDragon1 on the old skool pokeschool boards. I RPed and made fake Pokemon cards back when that was still all the rage.
Anyway, just wanted to let you guys know that I'm probably going to die soon. Not really, but I feel like it.
I'm unslept for the last 50+ hours. Additionally, I haven't eaten or had my precious nicotine for that time. Why? I dunno.
Having no money is probably a contributing factor, but after a time I think I turned it into a marathon session of "let's see how long I can do this". It's pretty interesting.
My mindset is so messed up now that I went to grab something from my car, but before doing so, made sure to grab fingernail clippers, and proceded to trim my nails in the car. It all made perfect sense at the time...
I guess the message I'm trying to convey here is this: Katie Couric is not a respectable journalist.
But anway, anybody have other sleepless and or foodless and or addiction breaking marathon sessions of love and war for me to oggle and fondle?

Oooh addictions, yeah I've got a few of those stories to tell...
I'm not ganja lie, I had a smoking problem in the past. I was spending somewhere in the region of $100-150 a week just on smoking, I didn't realise I was actually addicted to the nicotine, just if I fancied a smoke in the evening, someone would always be willing to come out and smoke with me. When I realised exactly what I was doing and decided I didn't want to be doing it anymore I did the stupid thing of stopping cold turkey. Nicotine deprival influenced insomnia is not nice for anyone, I was physically laying in bed for hours watching 2 or 3 movies before I could fall asleep, I abused the GTS on pokémon pearl just because i was so restless, ended up filling up 3 boxes in 24 hours just with pokémon from the GTS (try the lottery in Jublife after you do that, I've got 4 EXP shares now). I'd be awake at 4:15am thinking to myself "4:20 soon, everyone's asleep, maybe I could go outside and smoke, noone would notice" etc. Took me about a week to be able to sleep properly again, about 2 weeks for the cravings to die down to a level that I could deal with.
Addictions are not nice things to deal with, its possible to be psychologically addicted to anything (hense tv addicts etc) but physiological addictions (normally associated with drugs + alcohol) can be more difficult to break. The thing about you trimming your fingernails reminded me of many accounts of addiction I've read about and been through, its strange, something will seem like a perfectly sensible thing to do to yourself, yet seem like strange behaviour when thought about rationally. Has anyone been on Esquire's "What It Feels Like To...." archive? Theres a section on there about going cold turkey on heroin, its not pretty!
However when talking about completely cutting yourself off things, I completely gave up using tomato ketchup about 4 years ago on a dare, still haven't broken it ^_^
I've also dealt with a slight addiction to alcohol a couple times.
When I first got injured last summer it was a huge shock to my system, I went from training 7 days a week to none at all, so I found myself sitting online and getting very bored in the evening. I couldn't walk so going out was a huge problem, and the majority of my friends were either on holiday or in school every day, meaning I couldn't even go out whilst I was bored at home, leading me to open the fridge and drink my way through my Southern Comfort bottle. By the time I could actually walk again I was used to drinking 5 or 6 drinks a night just sitting inside on the computer. That addiction ended about 6 weeks later when I passed my driving test meaning I had to be more careful with how I drank cause I'd rather drive than drive, so that was a good one. However I kinda did a relapse about November last year, had a bad breakup, my car blew up, and I felt like shit, so I started drinking whenever I knew I didn't have to drive the next day, going to parties and within minutes of being there deciding who the most attractive girl was and ensuring I pulled her, and abusing my local alternative club's "Vodka Red Bull £1" offer to my fullest intent whilst also abusing any form of substance I could get hold of... Whole fiasco lasted about a month until after my 18th at which point I realised I was almost completely broke, out of shape, and smoking way too much when I was drinking (with thanks to my friends mum who said to me "Rupert, you look awful, I'm actually worried about you".
^_^ I'm awesome me.

I don't do...anything...
I've drank, like, once. And I don't have the lung capacity for smoking.
Clearly I suck. Or something.

I've drunk one drink in my lifetime, even though last time my mom called, she gave me drinking tips for next time I go to a party.
And I don't smoke because I need my lungs for swimming.
But not sleeping. THAT I do. I mean, not as long as 50 hours. But I'm generally of the opinion that sleep is for the weak.

I don't drink or smoke. Lung capacity is total win, and however fun getting drunk is, it's more fun drawing genitals all over the face of the guy who passed out.

I like my lungs not black and cancerous. =D
Eh, light drinking only on special occasions is fine, but I'd never go and get drunk. That's just embarrassing and it gets you back in the morning. x.x

Smokeing - Ick, no.
Drinking - Yes! I enjoy drinking. Casual drinks here and there are fun but getting drunk is really only for when you're around people whom you trust.

You're totally getting it wrong, getting drunk is all about being at parties and molesting the women around that you know you'll never see again... ^_^
when I was a national level lifesaver I didn't smoke, although it was scary how many people in the team actually did; and by didn't smoke, I'm talking fags unless I was really drunk, and seeing as I gave that up for like a year its quite impressive...
Damn all you really healthy people really make me look bad... then again, I've smoked on and off for 4 years now, and I can still do 50m underwater with ease

If she's good at advice it was probably something like "go to Athens." Duh. I drink whenever. And smoke fairly rarely. Not cigarettes though. Grosssssssssssssssssssss. I'm not sure what this topic is supposed to be about. HI CM!!

I rarely drink and I don't smoke. I don't really do anything to excess, but I do enjoy gambling.

I don't drink or smoke. Lung capacity is total win, and however fun getting drunk is, it's more fun drawing genitals all over the face of the guy who passed out. it's quite easy to both consume alcohol and draw shit on people.

Any reason? Or are you just "holier than thou"...
I think some point soon I may stop smoking alltogether, however my general problem is, that lasts as long as I last not going out for a drink, once I've got a drink in one hand, its just natural to have a cigarette in the other...

I'm gonna try and quit smoking (cigarettes) today, see how long I can go before the addiction cripples my fragile willpower and I light up again. I considered stopping drinking as I tend to do that to the point of passing out extremely regularly but then I figured it was best to tackle one vice at a time.
I probably should have quit drinking first since I know for a fact that once I get drunk I'm gonna want to smoke so bad. Meh, I'm already half-way through the day and I haven't smoked yet so I might aswell stick with it.

I'm planning on seriously cutting down my smoking in the near future too actually, I keep going through a lot more fags than I'd like to. Also its a very expensive habit.
Oh and yesterday I drank a 5l keg outisde bowling for soup... Heh...

I don't drink because it's rather hard to go out with my parents running the house, I don't smoke because I don't want to be more ill than I already am, I don't do drugs, I try to avoid anything that involves addictions, apart from a slight addiction to the net.
And after 2 weeks of no net in the holidays, I don't think I was a pretty sight. >>"
And no, I just avoid stuff like that because I don't want to be stuck spending money on things I don't have to. Yay sensible me.

I came back from the party on saturday night with more beer than I arrived with. Drained a whole 5l keg and left with another under my arm, and about 30 cans of beer that another party goer had left behind. ^_^ their loss = my gain.
