"Hypno and Starmie huh? Sounds like it should be fun. How about we take them down guy?" Val said quietly as three lights burst from his belt.
Echo, Miss, and Moss took their places around Val and took up battle stances. Miss had lost her usual cheery appearence and took on a bold, frightening look. Echo seemed to be yearning for a good battle and the pulsing of his leaves showed that it was ready. Moss lowered his head and pawed at the ground with its foot leaving long scrapes in the ground. Val glanced around at his pokemon and frowned slightly. This wasn't going to be easy and everyone knew it. Something had to be done quickly to prevent this man from hurting any more pokemon or people, but Val wasn't sure if his pokemon could hold up for the whole battle. They had already been through so much that they were exausted.
"Echo, use the walls like trees and hit Starmie with your Leaf Blade. Moss keep Hypno off guard and try not to get hit. Miss, Shadow Balls and Ominous Winds all around. Stay on high alert guys!" Val called out as his pokemon rushed into battle with a newly found power caused by Vals conviction.
OOC-I'll post results in my next post, but I'm posting sick right now so I'm a bit out of it.

OOC: Ya scared me with that name change, ya know? I thought I might have to tell someone it was too late to join the fun. BTW -- Pyro, ya planning to post any time soon?
BIC: Max, too, prepared himself for battle. Wincing still from the pain of being thrown against a wall, Max haltingly but quickly grabbed two of the Pokeballs from his belt, tossing them to the ground. Twin flashes of light revealed his chosen Pokemon. The first, a kangaroo, standing taller than Max himself. The second, a four-footed Pokemon whose white fur belied its dark nature, although the scythe-like blade on its forehead was a dead giveaway.
"I see you changed Pokemon," said Keris. "Thought a Dark-type would stack the deck in your favor. Well, my Pokemon's psychic attacks might not work, but that Absol is still just as vulnerable to other attacks as any other Pokemon. But enough talk. Jynx, Metagross, you know what to do."
That's one point in our favor, thought Max. Keris' Pokemon are acting on their own. Still, can't get cocky. At least he doesn't know about my ace in the hole. "Kangaskhan, Substitute. Absol, Swords Dance. Then, both of you Iron Tail that Jynx." Twin grunts acknowledged the orders. Kangaskhan began to concentrate, focusing its energy into creating a totem to shield it. Absol's eyes flashed closed as the blades on its head and tail began to glow fiercely.
Max's eyes darted to the opposing Pokemon. Jynx's head was reared back, while Metagross' right forelimb was cocked back and glowing harshly. "Incoming!" snapped Max. "Ice Beam and Meteor Mash! Get ready!" Absol's eyes popped open, as Kangaskhan's Substitute flashed into existence. Absol jumped to its left as a light blue beam of energy missed it by inches. Moments later, Metagross' metal-powered punch crashed into Kangaskhan's Substitute.
Now was the time for Max's Pokemon to launch their attack. Kangaskhan placed both hands on top of Metagross, using the metallic Pokemon to launch itself into the air, its tail already beginning to flow in a harsh metallic white. Absol, its tail glowing in the same metallic color, rushed in along the ground, turning just as it reached its icy foe. Absol's tail struck the voluptuous Pokemon from the side, knocking it to the ground as Absol rushed out of range. Meanwhile, Kangaskhan was falling fast, its tail right on target to strike the ice-wielding psychic. Jynx attempted to roll out of the way of the descending marsupial, but a quick midair adjustment kept the kangaroo on course. Kangaskhan's huge tail struck the psychic across the chest, which winced in pain.
Looks like that pair of Iron Tails took Jynx down a few notches, thought Max. But this battle's just getting started. And that Metagross looks like it could be a real threat. Even with a third Pokemon in the wings, I'll have to be careful.

"Great..." Alexxia muttered under her breath. She stood, staring at her opponent's pokemon. She recognised their stances and gestures instantly - they were fighting of their own accord, without instruction. "And none of these pokemon are actually mine... I hope they can follow instructions easily enough... Alright, let's go!" Alexxia threw two pokeballs, both of them cracking open and releasing a bright white light. When the light went down, two pokemon stood there. The first was a gremlin-like pokemon. It was rather short with an exceptionally large head, jewels for eyes and a manic grin. On its back were three nearly-identical jewels - a ruby, a sapphire and an emerald. The second pokemon was a vivid red colour. It looked like it was made of pure magma, but it was managing to hold a solid-enough shape, small chunks of it falling off, only to be collected seconds later. A Sableye and a Slugma. Great.
"Sableye and Slugma..." She muttered, running a few ideas through her head. Before she had a chance to issue any orders, Medicham and Xatu attacked. The faster of the two, Medicham, shot up into the sky, one of its powerful legs glowing pure white. It twisted in the air and picked up momentum as it dropped at Slugma, using its powerful Mega Kick. Xatu did not budge from its position, but its eye were engulfed in a blue light, a visible force forming in front of it. A blue missile shot at Slugma, a powerful Psychic attack. "Sableye, get in front of Slugma and Protect! Mojo, as soon as Sableye's moved, use Flamethrower on Medicham!" Alexxia said urgently. Sableye vanished from his position, reappearing in front of Slugma, a ghost type movement. Alexxia game a small smile. Sableye threw both arms out to either said, a green barrier surrounding the pair of them. Medicham's foot smashed into the barrier, as did the Psychic attack. Both attacks failed to meet their targets. As soon as Sableye let the barrier fall, Slugma released a jet of fire at the psychic and fighting pokemon, catching it just as it landed. Sableye hopped to the side, gathering an unearthly element in between his hands, a purple orb forming there. Slugma stopped his attack, waiting for the next order.
"Mojo, when Sableye uses Shadow Ball, I want you to use Flamethrower to boost its power," Alexxia ordered quickly. Sableye jumped high into the air, setting his sights on Xatu. He drew the orb back, then threw it powerfully at Xatu, who was still unmoving. Sligma reared its head back, then released another jet of fire, this time aiming just in front of the Shadowball. The ghost attack shot straight through the flames, making them follow in its wake. Xatu, however, moving for the first time, hopped out of the way, causing the Shadowball to hit the floor and explode, sending rubble and dirt flying everywhere. Alexxia squinted into the dust to see what was happening.
When the dust had cleared, she saw Medicham holding Sableye in one hand, the other crackling with electricity. On the other side, Xatu had released another Psychic attack, this time in the form of a beam, combatting Slugma's Flamethrower. Alexxia gritted her teeth. "Sableye, use Faint Attack, but aim for Xatu!" She yelled. Just as Medicham was about to punch Sableye, the gremlin gave a wide grin and covered himself in a dark aura, causing Medicham to dropped him due to pain. Sableye vanished before he hit the floor, reappearing behind Xatu and channeling the aura into a beam attack and firing it at Xatu, who staggered to the side again.
"Well, I didn't expect it to be going this well... But I'll bet my hat that it's gonna get tougher," Alexxia said to herself.

Vals section of the battling area was a blur of motion except for Val himself. Echo was bouncing from wall to wall avoiding bursts of Water Pulse and Thunderbolt attacks from Starmie while Miss and Moss were taking turns striking out at Hypno with all their might. Everything was moving to fast but the battle seemed to be going to slowly for Val. Battle always seemed to be slow down in his eyes. The quickest movements became like a slowmotion film. Nothing escaped his sight, but even with this gift his body could not react as fast as his mind to give commands. Even though this never really effected him much on the battle field, it was still a reason to train himself harder for his pokemons sake. If he could prevent them from getting hurt, all the better.
Val averted his attention for a moment to Echo who had just landed a series of Leaf Blade attacks on Starmie, but the powerful water type would just heal itself with Recover each time. While Val had is eyes turned towards the annoying Starmie Moss had dodged a Fire Punch from Hypno and the attack began to rocket towards him. Val began to turn just as Miss appeared before him and took the attack instead of her trainer. The powerful fire type attack took alot out of Miss and Val lost is stern look and took up a look of pure anger. Miss rose slowly from the ground and without instruction appeared behind Hypno and bit into the creatures back. Both pokemon were surrounded in a red aura and Hypno seemed paralized. It was almost as if you would see the life being drained out of Hypno and into Miss.
"It's called a Pain Split, you like it Hypno? Maybe if your trainer wasn't so obessed with trying to take over the world you would have been able to stop it. He just uses you as tools. That's why you'll never be able to beat me and my partners. Miss, hit it with a Confuse Ray and Moss, how about an Iron Head?" Val stated coldly and his pokemon moved into action.
Miss let go of her grip and vanished into the ether. A split second later she appeared before Hypnos eyes and shot a purple beam into its eyes. The strange look on Hypnos face told the whole story, the attack had worked. Moss acted quickly and with a gleaming crest slammed into the psychic type and sent it flying across the field towards Echo. Echo lept out of the way and landed behind his friends as the next series of events went into effect. Hypno got back to it's feet and charged up a Shadow Ball, but instead of launching it at the trio before it the attack was fired at Starmie. The water type was knocked back a few feet and in a fit of anger at its partner fired off a Water Pulse at it. The two began exchanging attacks with all their might while Val and his team got a chance to regain their breath and energy.
"That worked much better than I hoped it would. Stay on guard guys, they could stop attacking each other at any time."

The time had come for Keris' Pokemon to begin their counterattack. Metagross made some sort of inscrutable gesture, and Jynx nodded, closing its eyes as it slowly rose to its feet. Metagross, meanwhile, suddenly flashed with a brilliant metallic luster.
What in the world...? thought Max, as Metagross glided over to Kangaskhan with blinding speed, raising its left forelimb. OK, so that was Agility. But what is Metagross doing now? Max's hand darted into his pocket, pulling out an old Pokedex, which Max pointed at Metagross and opened. As he did so, Metagross brought down its arm, slamming its wrist into Kangaskhan's Substitute with amazing strength. As Max watched, eyes wide, Kangaskhan's Substitute shattered, disappearing as if it had never been.
Fipping open the Pokedex, Max hit a button on the inside keypad, and his eyes darted to the display. "Hammer Arm," he read. "A powerful fighting-type technique in which the user sacrifices speed for power." Max's eyes flew back to the battle, and Max could see that Jynx was preparing an attack. Which one, though, he couldn't say. Jynx brought its arms together, meeting at the wrists, and opened its hands.
"Kangaskhan, behind you!" Max shouted, but it was too late. A white pulse of power emanated from Jynx's hands, squarely hitting Kangaskhan in the back. Kangaskhan collapsed -- obviously, the attack had been potent. Again hitting the button on the Pokedex, Max again glanced at the display. "Focus Blast. A powerful fighting technique in which the user focuses its internal energy and manifests it as physical force. Can sometimes decrease target's resistance to special attacks."
Well, that explains that, thought Max, already forming a plan for a counterattack. "Kangaskhan, get up and Crunch that Jynx! Absol, follow up with Faint Attack, same target!" Kangaskhan immediately pushed itself to its feet, though Max could clearly see a wince in its movements. Kangaskhan can't take much more of this, Max thought as Kangaskhan whirled around, parting its jaws for a biting attack powered by dark energy. Max's eyes darted over to Absol, which was already vanishing to bring itself closer to its feminine target. Max turned his eyes back to Kangaskhan and Jynx. Jynx had flinched away from Kangaskhan, presumably from the damage of the marsupial's attack. Before Jynx could recover, Absol appeared behind it, swiping at it with its head blade. Jynx fell to the ground. Max watched closely, until Jynx disappeared in a red flash.
That just leaves me with Metagross to worry about, thought Max. But that thing is powerful, and it clearly knows attacks that I'm not familiar with. And Kangaskhan's vulnerable. This battle's far from over.

Alexxia surveyed the situation a little closer. Xatu was recovering from the situation well enough, and was stood strong again, while Medicham was poised for its next round of attacks. Sableye was ready for more combat, evident from its stance and Mojo was looking ever calm, as if it didn't realise where it was. Alexxia glanced around and caught Sableye's eye. A look was exchanged that told Sableye what to do. Sableye was instantly covered by a dark aura and vanished from sight. He reappeared behind Medicham, and fired a blast of the dark powered attack at Medicham, knocking the pokemon forward. Medicham spun on the spot, fist on fire, and punched Sableye. Sableye was thrown backwards, but before Medicham could further attack, a jet of flames hit it, knocking it off balance. Sableye twisted in the air, gathering an unearthly element in its palms again. A purple, glowing orb formed there, a Shadow Ball attack. While still airbourne, Sableye threw the orb at Xatu. Xatu immediately vanished from sight, teleporting away from the attack. The orb crashed into the ground, sending chunks of rubble flying everywhere.
"Mojo, use Yawn on Xatu!" Alexxia ordered quickly, while Medicham and Xatu were still attempting to recover from the explosion. Slugma nodded, inhaled deeply, then let out a huge, bellowing yawn. Instantly, Xatu yawned right back and Alexxia knew the attack had hit. Sableye dropped to the ground and ran at Medicham, its right hand glowing slightly. He jumped up and lunged at Medicham, scratching its back cleanly. Medicham growled, spun and kicked Sableye out of the air. Sableye spun in the air and landed again, skidding to a halt. Xatu, however, awoke only moments after falling asleep, and did not follow Sableye with its attention, rather focusing it on Slugma. A visible blue force shot at Slugma, causing the slug pokemon to wince and slide back. Slugma returned the attack with a powerful Flamethrower, the fire shooting at Xatu. However, the Xatu responded by teleporting out of the way of the attack. Sableye ran at the Xatu, eyes glinting. He jumped up, both palms glowing with that purple energy. Without pausing to power the attack, the gremlin released threw smaller Shadow Balls. Two of them hit the ground around Xatu, but the third caught the bird by surprise, exploding on contact.
Medicham had turned its attention to Slugma and was now running at the pokemon. It jumped high into the air, its leg glowing pure white once more, and thrust it's foot in a powerful Mega Kick, knocking the Slugma back. Mojo was obviously running short on health now, as was evident with the pokemon's panting. Sableye vanished, reappearing in between Xatu and Slugma. He raised his arms, both glowing with darkness, and slammed them into the floor, sending a wave of dark power that ripped up the ground as it shot at Xatu. The move smashed into Xatu throwing it backwards.
Suddenly, Slugma let out a great cry. Alexxia's attention snapped to the pokemon to see Medicham standing over it, fist crackling with electricity, and suddenly she understood. She recalled the pokemon, releasing her third and final pokemon. In a bright flash, Magneton appeared, each of its magnets crackling. "This battle ain't over yet!" Alexxia said as Sableye charged at Medicham.

Val smiled softly as the two psychic pokemon battled each other. Hypno was still confused and threw Thunder Punches with great force at its partner. Starmie countered the attacks that it could with Recovers and Water Pulses, but was weakening. After a well placed water attack Hypno was sent flying into the barrier with a loud thump. The weary body of Hypno slumped over and was soon ingulfed in red light, drawing it away. In the same instant Val recalled Miss and Moss to their balls for some well deserved rest. Now Echo faced off with the remaining Starmie. Each seemed to be exausted but both seemed to be aching to get at each other in the worst way possible.
"Alright Echo, I think that it's time that we turn up the heat. Sunny Day and then a Solar Beam. Make sure you don't hold back." Val said calmly.
Echos seeds began to glow a bright red color and then a beam of what appeared to be red electricity soared into roof, causing a small hole to form above the grass type that let in a beam of bright sunlight. Just a moment later a wave of yellow energy burst from Echos mouth and rocketed at Starmie. The shot hit the target and sent the water type flying. The battle with its partner had really taken a lot of Starmie and it seemed that the battle was drawing to a close.
"Now Echo! Leaf Storm before it can use Recover!" Val called out as Echo reacted before the command was finished.
A cyclone of jade colored leaves formed around Echo and began to pick up speed. Echo tucked its limbs in and began to spin with the brewing wind as the tornadic attack grew in strength. The spinning reached a peak and the whole of the swirling plant life struck out as the struggling Starmie. Leaves ripped at limbs and core alike. The vacuum of the cyclone held the water type still as the attack ravenged it. Just as the wind began to die down a red light was seen flashing from the core of Starmie showing that it was unable to battle any further. Val and Echo let out a long sigh at the same time and let their shoulders slump for a moment. Val recalled Echo to take a long rest and then raised himself up to his full height.
"I took out your pokemon and now I'm going to take you out! You've gone way to far Keris, and I plan to make sure that you don't get out of here without a pair of handcuffs on."

OOC: Wow, over a week I kept you guys waiting... my apologies. Really is about time to wrap up these battles, so...
BIC: Time to finish this! Max thought, a renewed determination flowing through him.
"Absol, Swords Dance and Faint Attack!" Absol's blades and claws began to glow harshly from the power it had unleashed, then the blade-wielding Pokemon vanished, appearing directly behind its metallic foe with a darkness-powered slash of its forehead blade. Before the attack could strike, though, a spherical blue shield appeared around the powerful psychic, repelling Absol's attack.
Damn! Should've expected Metagross to use Protect! thought Max, as Metagross launched its next attack -- a ball of sludge, aimed directly at Kangaskhan. Sludge Bomb?! thought Max, immediately forming a plan in his mind.
"Kangaskhan, Endure now!" Kangaskhan crossed its arms and bent its legs, the better to take the impact of the oncoming attack. Even so, the power of Metagross' attack drove Kangaskhan back about a foot. Kangaskhan uncrossed its arms, already preparing for the order it knew was coming next -- the only reason Max would have ordered Endure instead of Protect. "Reversal!"
Kangaskhan leaped into the air, its right arm behind it. The kangaroo's hand began to glow, and as it descended on Metagross, it brought its hand forward in a sweeping, overhead motion. The impact drove Metagross into the ground hard, sending up a cloud of dust.
Max watched anxiously as the dust began to clear. Finally, Max could make out the two Pokemon. Metagross was standing on its own four limbs, and Kangaskhan was laying on the ground; Max needed no more than that to know that the kangaroo was done battling for now. The poison from the Sludge Bomb must have finished it off, Max thought, letting out the breath he had been holding and returning Kangaskhan to its Pokeball.
I can't send out Tyrant, not without hurting Absol, thought Max. Guess it's one-on-one for now. Luckily for me, Keris' Pokemon were focusing on Kangaskhan, and Absol hasn't been hit. But what can Absol do that'll be effective against Metagross? I can't just keep having Absol use Faint Attack...
While Max was thinking, Metagross had already chosen its next attack. It quickly floated over to Absol, one limb raised. Hammer Arm again? thought Max. "Absol, Protect!" Absol quickly threw up its own shield, and Max chuckled as the powerful attack bounced off the shield as if it were rubber. Without waiting for orders, Absol launched its attack. Absol's head and tail blades became a harsh, pure black as Absol swung its head blade at its steely foe.
What attack was that? thought Max as he pulled out his Pokedex, pressing the key to pull up the attack information. Night Slash, he read. A Dark-type physical attack with considerable power and an increased ability to hit the opponent's weak points. "Never knew Absol had that attack," Max muttered, as he watched Metagross momentarily flinch from the power of the attack. That took Metagross down a few pegs. Looks like it won't take much more to finish this.
Metagross wasn't giving up that easily, though. Metagross retreated, then lifted one forelimb and pointed it directly at Absol. Max watched as a familiar ball of whitish-yellow energy formed in front of the lifted limb. "Absol, incoming Hyper Beam!" Absol vanished, reappearing simultaneously in half a dozen spots around the room. A little early on the Double Team there, thought Max, but this should still work. Metagross whirled around, chose a target, and the ball of energy soon became a wide beam. Max's jaw dropped as the other five Absols vanished. It got the right target?! thought Max. Max watched, fists clenched in anticipation as the attack faded. Absol was considerably weakened, but still standing.
"Alright, Absol, time to finish this! Fire Blast, now!" Absol raised its head, and a fireball formed in front of its mouth. Within two seconds, the fireball sprouted five "arms", looking almost like a starfish. Absol pointed a front paw, and the star-shaped projectile quickly crossed the distance between the two Pokemon. The blazing attack made contact, and Metagross fell to the ground, immediately disappearing in a flash of red light.
That's done, thought Max, glancing side to side. Val's battle, too was over, and Max could tell by his friend's posture that Val had been victorious. Alexxia, however, was still fighting. Max turned his attention to Alexxia's battle, anxiously awaiting the outcome. Suddenly, a voice caught Max's ear. "So, the legendary Val Armada and Max Milen live up to their reputations!" It was Keris. "But do you think your little friend here really stands a chance?"
OOC: I really did intend for Max to end up using Tyrant in this battle, but it flowed so well this way that I simply let it be. Sometimes, these battles almost seem to write themselves.

"Sableye, Protect Magneton!" Alexxia shouted, her eye catching the approaching Medicham immediately. Sableye, who had been running at Xatu, skidded to a halt, turned and vanished, reappearing in front of Magneton. The gremlin arrived just in time, and threw up a green dome around the pair of them, the Medicham's burning fist smashing into the barrier. The barrier melted away, and Steelshock's magnets all started crackling with electricity. The electric type released a powerful Thunderbolt at the Medicham, knocking it back and sending it skidding across the floor. However, soon after doing that, it was throw away itself. Alexxia's eyes snapped to the Xatu, who just lost a blue glow. A Psychic attack. Of course.
Sableye shot across the floor, returning to it's dash to Xatu, both claws glowing a deep purple colour, the glow getting stronger the closer to Xatu he got. Without hesitation, Sableye lunged at Xatu, but Medicham was back in the game, kicking Sableye to the side. Sableye twisted in the air, kicked from the ground, on to the barrier wall and sprung off it, shooting at Medicham like a bullet. On the way past, he swiped at the psychic-fighting pokemon, smacking its head to the side with the Shadow Claw attack. Medicham staggered to the side, then regained its composure, turning its attention back to Magneton. The steel pokemon had not been doing nothing in this time, apparently, as was evident by the vivid yellow glow it had acquired. "Charge," Alexxia recognised the move. "Alright. Zap Cannon!"
With the sound of a bomb going off, all the electricity Magneton had just stored up was released in a single, powerful attack. The electricity had somehow condensed its shape into a cannonball and was shooting right at Xatu. The bird pokemon's eyes started glowing blue, obviously about to teleport, but Sableye suddenly appeared in front of Xatu, his jewelled eyes glowing a sinister purple colour, and Xatu was locked in place momentarily by the Mean Look. Medicham dove in front of Xatu, clapping his hands together, undoubtedly about to perform a defensive attack, but Sableye had this covered too. A powerful blob of dark energy, a Shadow Ball smashed into Medicham, throwing the pokemon out of the way. Sableye vanished, moving out of the way himself. The Zap Cannon did, indeed, reach its target.
"And Xatu's out," Alexxia said, nodding as Xatu was recalled. She wore a satisfied smile, but it was quickly rubbed away when Medicham returned to the battle. Medicham clapped, and a bright white light Flashed through the building. Alexxia immediately shut her eyes and raised her arm to shield them, but even that could only dull the attack slightly. Sableye had been looking at Medicham full on. Doubtless the gremlin pokemon wouldn't be able to see for a few moments, by which time Medicham would have made its move. The pokemon was charging at Steelshock, hands brought together, a look of deep concentration on the pokemon's face. A bright white light covered Medicham's hands, and it's eyes snapped to the dazed Magneton. Alexxia's vision returned just in time to see the move. Focus Punch. And it hit it's target.
Magneton was thrown backwards by the attack. A combination of being stunned, the Medicham's surprisingly high attack and the obvious type bonus had managed to deal a massive amount of damage to Magneton. Not enough to knock it out, but enough to take a good chunk of its health away. Medicham's victory was short-lived, however, as Sableye released a barrage of smaller Shadow Balls at Medicham. The smaller balls were weaker, but that just meant that Sableye had less trouble creating them as he released Shadow Ball after Shadowball, a relentless rain of ghostly energy, all aimed at Medicham. Quickly, the Medicham threw up a green barrier, blocking the rest of the attacks. However, it was obvious that the pokemon was running low on health. Sableye vanished, reappearing below Magneton.
"Sableye, Power Gem! Magneton, Thunder!" Sableye's grin widened, and he raised a hand. A clear gemstone seemed to melt out of his skin. The gemstone was hypnotic, it seemed to release an aura, but it didn't. It was... unusual. It looked harmless but incredibly powerful at the same time. Sableye threw the gem up, then caught it again. This time, the gem definitely was releasing an aura. A visible, grey-brown colour. Sableye gripped the stone tightly, the aura surrounding his hand too. Magneton's magnets crackled with electricity once more, as it started gathering electrical energy to release it upon the unlucky foe. Sableye jumped up, high into the air, and fired a beam from the gem, the same colour as the aura, and Magneton released all the electricity it was storing. Fast though it may have been, the Medicham was in no condition to dodge. The attack hit dead on, and the Medicham was thrown backwards, recalled before it could collide into anything.
"Alright, we did it!" Alexxia punched the air triumphantly, a wide grin on her face.

Max smiled as he watched the barriers fade. Looks like Keris should have known better than to challenge us, he thought.
Keris laughed. "Bravo, heroes, bravo. It would seem that Max Milen and Val Armada have indeed lived up to their reputations. But, tell me, what makes you think I'll come along quietly now?"
"I don't know," replied Max, "though I would assume you desire not to suffer massive amounts of pain."
"Tsk, tsk, Max. So violent. The deal was that I would hand over the shard if you won. I keep my bargains, so the shard is yours. As for me, I'll just be leaving now." He turned, obviously preparing to run.
"Not so fast, Keris! Tyrant, Absol, cut him off!" Max tossed the one remaining Pokeball on his belt to the ground, and the two Pokemon surrounded Keris quickly, cutting off his escape.
"Oh, how droll," remarked Keris, turning back towards the group. "Good trick, Max. But if you thought it would actually stop me, you have sorely underestimated me. Maybe next time, heroes!" At that, Keris simply disappeared. One moment he was there, the next it was if there had never been anyone standing there.
"What the -- " Max started. "Dammit, he's gone. And I have a feeling we haven't heard the last of Keris." Max strode over to the crystal shard everyone had fought so hard for. "I'm tempted to keep this, but it's far too dangerous. I'll dispose of it before I leave town." Max picked up the shard, then walked back over Alexxia. "I will need Steelshock back, but I knew I had chosen well when I gave you Sableye. Take good care of it." With that, Max quickly but gently took Steelshock's Pokeball. "Come along, guys," he said, turning and starting to walk out of the building. A careful observer would have noted that Max was still wincing in pain.
Outside, Max turned to his Pokemon. "It's time to get rid of this thing once and for all," Max said, placing the shard on the ground. "Absol, Tyrant, Steelshock, all of you hit this thing with your best Hyper Beams. The Pokemon surrounded the shard while Max distanced himself from it. Almost in unison, the three Pokemon launched harsh white beams of pure power at the offending object. As the attacks faded, Max looked at the ground. The shard was obliterated, and a small crater marked the spot where it had been a moment before.
"Good. OK, all three of you, return. Time to get back to Fuschia." Each of the three Pokemon became a flash of red light, disappearing back into the familiar vessels they had come from. With that, Max continued walking towards the nearest Pokemon Center; from there, he would make the trip home.
OOC: Yay! I now officially declare this RP complete. Great writing, guys. This one was a lot of fun. Keep your eyes peeled -- within the next week or two, I should be starting my next storyline.
