I've been working on a chess variant game, based on Chess4. It basically plays like standard chess, but with four sides, and each team has different ways of moving for their pieces, though the same numbers. Additionally, the board has two eight-square rows added to every side, in order to keep the I'll have the game ready by Saturday night.
The teams: Earth: Theme: European Turn Order: Last Opposite: Wind Emphasis: Balance Weakness: None Check Piece: King Special Move: Castling: If the King and the Rook have not moved, and have no pieces between them, the King may move two squares towards the Rook, and then the rook is moved onto the square the king passed over.
Wind: Theme: Arabic Turn Order: First Emphasis: Flanking Weakness: Direct Charges Check Piece: Sultan Special Move: Not yet determined.
Fire: Theme: Egyptian Turn Order: Second Emphasis: Striking and Distance Weakness: Retreating Check Piece: Pharaoh Special Move: Not yet determined.
Water: Theme: Asian Turn Order: Third Emphasis: Flexible movements Weakness: Distance Movements Check Piece: Emperor Special Move: Shifting: If there are no pieces in the "back row" section of all remaining players, the water player may spend their turn to move all pieces two squares towards a back row.
As you can see, I've been putting some thought into this. Anybody wanna help me playtest it on here? I think I'll give 3 EP for testing, and a bonus 2 for winning.
