"Or mayhaps you should, young man." The man in the front of the room gestured, and muttered something under his breath. Instantly, the gravity in the room ended. People began floating towards the ceiling, or simply remaining floating above the ground.
"My codename is Breaker. I work for the upper levels of APCARP in guild management. And my Power is to temporarily cancel out the rules of physics for a period of time." The man was strained by this effort, but he still was continuing the cancellation of gravity. "Crank up the juice all you want, it's all the same to me." The man was straining to keep gravity cancelled, but still remained rather serious in his bearings. "I've got enough strength to keep this up for around ten more minutes."
A groan went up from anybody nauseated by the loss of gravity. The man, now gritting his teeth, continued. "Those brochures list where one can get enhancement treatments for both their powers and their normal physical body, as well as giving you a map of the APCARP facility you're currently within."
"Physical enhancements are procedures offered by APCARP to enhance the strength of our Power members. Through hormonal, chemical, and energy treatments, we can enhance the physical strength and speed of somebody to roughly twice what it should normally be for a person of that size. These treatments usually go for a couple hundred credits, around what a good mission can fetch you. They may be incompatible with some aspects of some Powers, or may be unsuccessful due to negative interference from the Power's powers."
"We also have some other, more experimental technology at our fingertips. Prosthetic limbs with concealed weapons or superhuman strength, secondary nervous systems to prevent paralysis even if your back is broken, other such things." The man continued, trying to maintain his field of effect.

A girl, about 5'3 and of Hispanic origin, with long, curly brown hair, tried to walk into the building, but instead, nearly floated to the ceiling. She would have kept on rising had her friend not dragged her down. The friend was a little taller than her, and Russian, with bright pink hair and glasses. He spotted a nearby plant, and raised his hand, wiggling his long, slender fingers. The plant began to disintegrate, and the tiny specks of leafy green shifted around. They eventually regrouped into a sturdy rope tied to a pole in the corner somewhere, which the boy promptly grabbed hold of while still holding on to his friend.
"Who turned off the gravity in here?!" he jokingly exclaimed. The pink-haired one was soon approached by the mustachioed official, who stared him in the eyes menacingly.
"Name and codename?" he grunted, fed up with the pink-haired boy.
"Oh, come on, you know me! I've been here thousands of times." The boy peered through his glasses and shook his head. "Nikita Aleksander, the one and only. Call me either one, just don't call me Alex. Or Nicky. Codename's Elix. Aw, come on! How can you still not recognize me?!"
"I recognize ya. You've been off causing trouble, haven't you? Brat." The official turned around, and greeted the girl that Nikita was with with a smile. "Nice to see you again, Stephanie. Careful around Nikita, you know he's a troublemaker." He stormed away, finally leaving Nikita alone. Nikita, however, stuck his tongue out at the official.
Stephanie looked over and found Revenant. She yelled at him, and waved with the hand that wasn't grasping the rope for dear life. "Hi there!!!"

Tim put his hands behind his head and assumed the classic relaxed position as he floated about. He'd oriented himself with his back to the ground, and only floated a couple inches above it. From his back belt loop a cord of steel thread ran down to the ground, where it seamlessly fused into it. With that, he kept himself oriented and kept his perspective from shifting too much to remain un-dizzy. His stomach had always been prety strong, so he wasn't too worried about that.

Jess felt rather normal floating around, as she had done so on her own several times before coming to the states. The only difference here, was that she had no control over where she moved. It didn't surprise her, though. Lack of gravity meant that there was little one could do about one's movement, apart from maybe flail about a bit. She'd passed her Physics exams with an A* the previous year.
Looking Stephanie up and down, she smiled, and tried to float towards her. And failing miserably. Nothing worked in zero gravity, it seemed... Oh well. 'Hey, you must be Stephanie?' she called out, giving a friendly salute. 'I just signed up with you lot. And... boy, this is hard. Can we have gravity back to norm please? Physics is confusing enough as it is, without someone turning it off.'

Elliot waved his hand, apparently carelessly. As soon as he did so, he sunk to the floor with apparent ease, as though falling through a thick custard. "Humans have got water in them too," he said, shrugging, at several questioning looks. Then he looked over to Stephanie. "You're Stephanie? I'm Elliot, I was just accepted into your... guild." He walked over and floated up to her, extending his hand to shake hers.

"Hey, kid!" Revenant exclaimed happily, kicking off the ceiling and landing on the floor. He dug his blades into the floor to hold himself down, and then slowly crawled across the floor to be situated beneath Stephanie. "Hey, Breaksie, you can hit the off switch now."
"Certainly. All of you, brace for a fall." The gravity returned to normal, almost all people easily catching themselves. A few stumbled, and a few others fell on their rears, but in general, it was much less chaotic than the rise. Revenant caught Stephanie, taking care to use the undersides of his arms.
Manifest, who was still stuck to the ceiling using a set of bloody metal claws extended from his palms, looked down on the party. "Hey, all of you. There's four in the Holy Force, and four in our guild, right? Why don't we use that to our advantage? A week from now, I propose a sparring match. Until then, go on with life as normal."
Revenant looked up at him, and gave an almost boastful toss of his hair. "I'm up for it. What do the rest of you say?"
OOC: Anybody not in a Guild yet, still feel free to join/declare your choices. We'll just work something out to even things if the numbers become uneven.

Tim was only an inch from the ground when Breaker flipped the gravity switch back to on. He would have landed flat on his back, but luckily, back when he was a little kid, he took gymnastics. As soon as the gravity came back, he lowered his hands to soften the fall, then quickly brought up his legs rolling onto his shoulders. With a quick hand position change so that they were placed right above his shoulders, he simultaneously pushed off with his hands and kicked upward, landing lightly on his feet. Tim wiped the dust off of his shirt and readjusted his aviators before speaking.
"A spar sounds fun. I'm in." he said, grinning.

Jess floated gracefully to the floor, touching down slowly with no care for the return of gravity. 'That's better,' she muttered, smiling. She looked up at Stephanie, Elliot and Revenant - were they friends now? She sure hoped so. It would be a brand new experience. The English coutnryside was an empty place, devoid of all but farmers and maybe a few castles spattered about. No one to talk to, certainly not at her age anyway. It was lonely for a teenager out there. Here, it would be different. People her age, with powers of their own... And a sparring match already proposed. Perfect.

Rob hadn't even moved when the gravity went off, nor did he when it came back on. He'd stayed perfectly still, the entire tire, right up to the point where gravity came back, and he didn't even fall a centemeter before he touched the ground. To be honest, he wasn't really all that surprised. He knew they'd have someone around who could make the kids behave if nessisary. However, he had reservations about the sparring match. "I don't know about a sparring match guys. I'm willing to fight, sure enough, however." He paused, and scratched his chin. "However, being able to amp up the gravity fields as I am, I could unintentionally, but seriously, injure someone." His eye's ran over at Elliot. "And while that would not be unwelcome in some cases, I would, none the less, be more concerned with the state of my allies, since its possible I'll be working jointly with them in the future, and I don't want to be held back."

"At APCARP, we have ways of making sure that injuries don't stick." Revenant said cryptically, and the small man soon picked up on what he had said.
"Of course. At APCARP, we have some of the most advanced simulation technology available. Through a mental uplink, we can connect you to a simulation computer. And through that, you may participate in training activities without risk of injury. Pain is still felt, and your body in the simulation will take damage, but other than damage from emotional stress and reactions to your pain, you won't receive any lasting negative effects." Breaker uttered these words as quickly and reassuringly as possible, his nervous nature not helping the situation.

Dracon walked up behind Revenant. He placed a hand on his shoulder "Hey, I see your setting up guilds, and hopefully adding to our own?"
Summer walked up as well "Yeah, we need a bit more then three people, anyone new join yet?"

Zee looked up at the mention of a sparring match. Though he had fought a few people and he used his powers often he never used them in battle. None of those he'd fought had been blessed with powers like he had and it wouldn't have been fair.
Finally speaking up he looked to Revenant "Though I will refrain from choosing a particular group or path as it were just yet a sparring match does sound interesting. You can count me in."
"This could be a good chance to fully show off my powers and to see how I fair against other powers." He thought, his eyes fixed on Revenant.

"Somehow, a bit of gravity doesn't scare me," Elliot said coldly, hovering a foot or so above the ground. "I have... ways... of getting around it."
He paused to think. A sparring match? Perfect chance to test his skills to their fullest extent, and without the risk of injury. He considered it for a moment. "Sparring? I'm in."

"I'll spar..." A woman said coming from behind. She stretched and yawned loudly "Though, I don't know if it will hardly be fair!" She laughed loudly, and touched the surface of a near-by puddle. She lifted her finger, and a chinese sword appeared, made completley out of the surface tension of the water. Using her powers she hardened the water, and made the blade very sharp "You see... I may not have a so called strong power, but it can lead to limitless weapons, and items..." She took a fighting pose "So when do we start?"

"Hey! Revenant!" Blade called. "Mind if I join ya as well?" He walked forwards towards Revenant, "I wouldn't mind some sparring either, my current assignments have been rather boring." He sighed. "You probably haven't heard of me, I'm a pretty minor agent. My ability is to make my bones grow at extremely accelerated rates, as well as rather pathetic telekinesis." Long blade blades grew out of his hands, taking shape into two long swords, which then disenguaged themselves from his body, and he held them tightly in his hands. He grinned. "We're a lot alike, you and I. Additionally, I've been taking special suppliments that have made my bones 40% carbon. They're tough, hard to break them now."

Jake waved at Revenant, "Hey! Can I join please?" He called tentatively. Quite a few people had joined Revenants guild, so he assumed he'd be alright amongst them. They could all guide a teach each other. And besides, he totally didn't buy Revenants dark and dreary routine. He'd seen that demeanor before, he had the air of someone who pushed others away, even as he wished he wasn't alone. Jake jumped over the crowd and landed beside Revenant with a dull thud. "Heh, physically enhanced." He said, smiling.

"Well, I guess that you can join..." Revenant's voice was a growl, his eyes invisible behind his sunglasses and mask. He brushed his hair out of his eyes and tried to hide a smile. People with such optimistic moods about what they were getting into, well, they buoyed his spirits.
OOC: BTW, the group's adventures continue in Adjustments and Springtime, so burst into the costume room late or something like that if you wanna join in.
