It was a dark, peaceful night. There wasn't a cloud to be seen in the sky, and Tyr's three moons shone peacefully, creating a sort of twilight that could never truely be night. High stone cliffs overlooked the dark shore, its red and blue waters looked slightly off, until you got the feel of Tyr. The sands were black as burnt glass, but as soft as silk. The stone was infinitely hard and unforgiving, of a kind that never could exist on earth. Looking up, there's a bang, and arking energywaves flow out in the night sky, followed by a quickly falling figure.
"What the hell?" Prime said, shoked. He looked down at the ground below him, letting himself fall for the moment. "Now that has to be the oddest thing..." He said silently. He was getting a bit close to the ground now, so he summoned up his power to fly through the skys. Only to find it didn't come. "What?!" He said, then looked back at the ground. A quick inventory confirmed that his powers were, indeed, quite gone. "Oh shit-" He said, and smacked into the black sand with a thump, and a puff of sand in the air. He scrambled unsteadily to his feet, coughing up sand. "Damn this shit is soft." He said, though he felt immensily greatful that it was. For whatever reason, it seemed that his powers had deserted him. He knew of only one reason for this.
This was an entirely different world from the one he'd come from, one where he had no power at all.

Floss was sat next to the small fire she had built; she had been outcast and thrown from her small poor village for trying to unite her own home and her home’s rival village for the greater good. Her plan had shattered into a million pieces and she had been sentenced as a traitor and thrown from her only home, into the black desert.
She pulled her white tunic closer to her body it was a cold night and her tunic and leather armour really didn’t help against the cold. The wind was bitter and it was threatening to blow her fire out, which wasn’t a good thing. Floss added what was left of her wood supply which she had stolen from various places she had come across in her exile. A sword laid next to her, its white sheath contrasting against what little of the black blade that had peeked out, half drawn from it. Floss had been trained in the art of the sword, one of the few women who had mastered it in her village she had been expected to go to war if the need be, luckily that need be never came. Floss only used it to defend against the wilds of the desert now and it had earned her a few good meals.
She started to lye when she heard the thump, something had hit the ground very hard to have made that kind of noise, or maybe it had been a war drum Floss wasn’t sure but her curious side had got the better of her as she grabbed one of the flaming sticks from the fire her black tight leather gloves protecting her from the heat as she held it above her head and walked in the direction of the noise grabbing her sword and fastening it to her belt as she went. Floss rounded one of the dunes to find a man, looking very confused.
“Who are you?” Floss called, “Identify yourself and your allegiance,” she ordered.
Prime - Yeah, I'm a bastard... But that's...bad....

"My name is Prime." He said, rubbing his neck in a very irritated way. "I have no alligeince here. I'm from...somewhere rather far away." He said, lamenting the fact that this was an entirely different world from the one he'd been present in before. On top of that, he didn't even have a weapon on him. He'd been relying totally on his materialization power for his weapons recently, as they'd been the most fitting. Now he found himself without any kind of power at all. It made him feel very...vulnerable. Very human, and suddenly he was scared. He looked towards the woman, but she didn't seem to mean him any harm. "You wouldn't happen to have an extra weapon with you, would you?" He asked politely.

“An extra weapon?” Floss scoffed, “Are you crazy, it’s hard enough to get metal on this god forsaken planet let alone extra weapons for people, plus why would I give you one? You could be the enemy for all I know, trying to be friendly and all,” Floss accused.

Well that's friendly. Prime thought sarcastically, though he couldn't exactly blame her about the weapon part. He would've been hesitant to hand over a spare blade to a stranger as well. But that didn't change the fact that he needed a way to defend himself, a sitting around with this obviously very forwards and doubtless, untrusting woman, wasn't going to get him anywhere. "Right." Prime said, "Later then." He waved a hand over his shoulder and her turned around and walked away.

“Wait!” Floss called out to Prime, he was stupid for going out into the desert he would die in mere hours with no food, water and a way to defend himself. She really didn’t want to help she had her own hide to save, but it was against her nature, and it would be nice to have some company.
“You’ll die out there alone, come to my camp for food and rest?” She offered, “I still don’t trust you, but I’d rather see you live than die.” She added.

Prime cocked an eyebrow, then shrugged and walked back into her camp. "Thanks." He said great fully, not bothering to question her about it to closely. "So what are we going to do now?" Prime asked through a mouthful of food. No longer being made of energy, he found himself quite hungrier than he'd expected. Especially since he hadn't had the urge to eat in a few months.

"Well, I for one like the look of this fellow. He doesn't seem to be deceitful, even if he doesn't feel totally trustworthy either. That's okay. I don't like it when anybody is too trustworthy." A kind, folksy voice said. Although his voice was loud, his tone was effortless. Quite evidently a man of little societal interaction, he was garbed in rugged armor with many small bits of metal set in it.
"My name is Leddel. If you are in need of a companion to travel with, well, I just cashed in a tonne of feathers at the market, and have about three days before I need to be home."

Floss sat down next to Prime and took an apple from her bag she munched on it a little before replying, “I was thinking of heading to some ruins quite near here, it’ll provide shelter there has been a prediction for a sand storm soon and we’ll need it, you might find a weapon there though,” Floss added as an afterthought. She looked up as a new voice was heard, how many people was she going to meet today, what were the chances of this?
"I'm always looking for new companions," Floss replied, "As long as your one of the one's who doesn't stab you in the back while your asleep?"

"Sounds good." Prime said, wondering just what kind of state a weapon from some old, broken down ruins would afford him. "No point wasting time here then, lets go. I certainly don't want to get caught in a sand storm." He said. Especially with this weird black sand everywhere. He thought. He turned towards the newcomer. "Your welcome to come with us of course, though I doubt any of us will trust each other for the time being."

"Well, if you need something to defend yourself with..." Leddel reached over his shoulder, and grabbed something. "I've got a bow that you can use." He started to unhook the quiver as he looked at Prime.
"I'm afraid I won't be loaning you my blade though. Metal is pricey, and forging something like mine is incredibly bad for one's wallet, if you catch my drift. So... Yeah. No knife for you."

Prime laughed as he accepted the bow. "That's alright." He said, strapping the quiver to his leg and looking over the straight, wooden arrows. "This'll be fine, for the moment anyways." He drew back the bow, finding it to be a rather easy draw. "Hmmm, seems like you don't have some of the better techniques for creating bows around here. Or maybe this is simply inferior, but it'll serve in any case." He said, slinging it over his shoulder. "Alright, lets go."

"Believe it or not, that's actually of superior craftsmanship and materials to most stuff that one find around here, or anywhere." Leddel noted dryly, stroking his chin. He followed Prime slowly, thinking. "So, where are you from again? I may be from a rural area, but I am rather booklearnt."

Floss followed behind silently her cape billowing out behind her in the wind as she walked. The group were going in the right direction anyway, but they would probably have to pick up the pace soon enough.
She kept a lookout the desert had a lot of dangers, outcasts, thieves and what some called monsters, but were actually just ferocious beasts looking for a meal. Floss had one hand on the hilt of her sword, just incase.

"I'm from a very far away place." Prime said slowly, scratching his chin. "And I'd rather not talk about it, if you don't mind. I'd rather be there than here, and being here is quite definately an accident." Prime said bitterly, spitting on the ground. "As for this bow, I admit, it has a 120-140 pound draw on it, which isn't bad by most standards. But the bows I used back home had 200, even 300 pound draws on them, that's the type of bow I'm accustomed to." He said. He could see the ruins, they were closer than he'd thought. "Looks like we're almost there, I guess they were hidden from view because of this ridge."

“Keep an eye out and stay focused,” Floss cut in sharply to Prime’s statement, “Beasts and the like tend to shelter here too, we might have a problem if they have.” She explained her sword being drawn slightly from its sheath. She slowly crept forward the moment they got close to the massive pillars of the ruins. It was built like she expected, four stone pillars stood on the outside of the building at each of the four corners, a huge shelter stood in the middle, luckily most of the roof was still intact.
“It looks clear,” she murmured, waiting for the others to follow.

Prime walked into the ruins with a broad swagger. "HELLOOOOO!" He cried, "ANY MONSTERS IN THERE?" He yelled. He paused for a moment, but there was no reply. He turned back to the others, "It seems all clear to me." He said, one of the arrows had, however, been in his hand, just in case. "One might even say its quite as a tom-" He was cut off by a loud cracking sound, and then the floor beneath him caved whoa. "Whoa- whaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!" He yelled, before hitting the ground far below with a dull thump.

Floss smirked as she looked down through the new hole in the floor that had been quite amusing, to her anyway. The brunette jumped down landing softly on the floor her knee’s bent to absorb any impact.
“You alright?” Floss asked, her eyes scanning the darkness carefully she swore she had heard something shuffle and growl slightly as she landed, “Get up slowly I think we may have a problem,” she whispered before signalling Prime to try make his way to the surface as fast as possible.

"Crud! Didn't that guy know not to mess around with any buildings that didn't belong to people he knows personally? Pretty much everything is boobytrapped around here." Leddel reached to his shoulder.
"Blast! I must have dropped my rope somewhere. Do you have any? Otherwise, we might need to go in after him."

Prime looked around, he could see red eye's in the dark now. "I don't believe," He said slowly, turning around. "That we're going anywhere." They were totally surrounded. Prime thanked his luck that the bow was still intact. One of the beasts walked slowly into the light. It was like a man, but covered in fur, and far more primal. It carried a primitive, yet heavy sword. "Shit!" Prime said indestinctly, there were more than 6 of them. He wasn't happy to be in this kind of situation. Not as happy as he would've been, had there been a sword in his hands. And he couldn't steal one of theirs blades, they were far to large for Prime to use.
The beast-man let out a bellow of challenge, almost making Prime cower, but he quickly regained control of himself, knocking an arrow to the bowstring, and letting loose in one smooth motion. The beast-man that had bellowed so ferociously fell to the ground, a wooden shaft protruding from its head.

"You're kidding me." Leddel produced his dagger, telescoping it to its full length. He popped a latch on the hilt, and produced a powder horn from his side. He poured into the dagger a small measure of sparkling powder. "This looks like we'll be needing this..." He then proceeded to jump into the hole, trailing a irridescent path of sparks.
He landed on the shoulders of one of the larger ones, stabbing it in the head. There was a flash, and then its skull collapsed, imploding on itself. He then withdrew the dagger, flipping free of the beast's shoulders. He landed in a crouch, his dagger glowing brilliantly. Spinning it in his hand, he slashed through the air, turning on his heel. A wave of energy accompanied the attack, ripping along the floor and tearing furrows into it. It plowed through one of their assailants, cleaving them in half.

Floss turned quickly around catching a glance of silver as one of the massive swords came slashing down to cleave her in two. Her sword was out faster than lightning blocking the blow and holding it steady in an amazing feat of strength for a woman of her size.
She pushed hard upwards, sending the blade away before ducking down and slashing in front of her, she sliced through something and seconds later a massive thud was heard, it seems she had got a leg and that the man-beast had fallen. Floss straightened up, grabbing her swords blade and hurling it across the underground room, it plunged through another beasts neck that was swinging wildly at Prime.
She ran over as fast as she could to the second she had fell, withdrawing a dagger from somewhere to protect herself if need be. It wasn’t the cash she reached her sword and pulled it out blood spraying everywhere as it came. Floss raised her sword, looking for her next victim.

Prime backed away from the last beast at a decent clip as it rushed towards him, trying to draw a bead one it. No such luck, however, as he quickly ran into the wall, throwing his aim off completely. His foot came down as he tried to regain his balance, only to have the ground shift under him again, and suddenly he fell backwards as the solid wall he'd been pinned against disappeared. He smacked his head on the ground, cursing.
He looked around. There were two very odd objects on a podium, both of which he recognised, though they were far from normal. One was a glove, for the left hand, with strange arcane symbols drawn over it. It seemed to be made of a blue stone, and yet he could tell it would be as flexible as rubber if he put it on.
Next to it was a large handgun. It was wicked looking, with a very boxy yet refined shape, with no sharp edges despite its rough appearance. It seemed to be crafted of the same blue stone, and it was inlaid with gold. Prime got to his feet slowly, "Interesting."
There was a loud bellow behind him, it seemed the beast thing had finally gotten over its shock. It came barreling towards him at full speed. Not even taking any time to think about it, Prime grabbed the gun, his for-head suddenly shone with a blue, ether eye, as ether flowed through him. He built it up in the gun, and pulled the trigger.
A blast like a cannon went off, and a blue beam of energy about a foot in diameter punched through the beast-man, slamming into the wall on the other side of the chamber and exploding in a violent burst of light.
When the dust settled, Prime was wearing the glove on his left hand as well, the gun in his right. His left hand burned with blue energy, an aura like flames, and his reborn third eye stood out proudly on his for-head, an etherial presence watching with more acuity than any human eye.

"You're kidding me..." Leddel said, almost dropping his dagger in astonishment. This person, seemingly with no idea what ether was at all, had just ripped loose with two insanely powerful artifacts. "I take it you won't be needing my bow anymore..." Leddel said, his jaw still hanging. He paused for a moment.
"Before our dour company can beat me to the punch, I'd like to say that I just realized something else... A blast like that probably made every Etherian for a hundred miles lick their chops, so to speak." Leddel unlatched his dagger's hilt, checking his stock. He decided against reloading so soon.
OOC: Y'know, now I'm really getting into this thing. The whole dieing world deal and such, feeling a lot more comfortable now.
*wishes people could get the flavor of APCARP in their blood, too. It just hasn't clicked yet, I don't think*

OOC: Just sticking this in here to comment, and its Daves turn. But, two insanely powerful attacks? I actually just reread to make sure, and I'm pretty sure I only fired the gun once. Oh, and that isn't going to be a normal attack power level, that like a demonstration of the max without actually turning into an etherian.
EDIT: Lmao, you said Artifacts, not attacks, sorry. Lol.

Floss was shocked too that had been something powerful; very powerful, maybe it wasn’t such a bad idea to let this guy hang around for awhile. Floss scanned the room finding the last remaining man-beast thing. It was currently flailing its arms around in the air; a lack of leg certainly unnerved it.
Floss carried herself over to the flailing enemy and turned to her sword shoving it through it’s neck, with that done the group was a lot safer now all they had to do was stop the room from caving them in.
