It was a beautiful planet covered with a blue green ocean and large landmasses that seemed to perfectly curve with the planet. Fluffy white clouds dotted the surface and drifted in the different levels of atmosphere. Against the black harshness of space, it was a glowing oasis of hope and beauty.
Marvelous. Omega thought to himself as he unnaturally floated in space. His long brown hair wafted weightlessly around his body. The complexion of his skin was a light tan and he had an athletic build to his overall body. He would almost pass for a normal human if not for the two glowing red slits that passed for his eyes. Eyes that gleamed with an eerie vacant stare directed down at the planet before him.
This man was out of place. He wore no spacesuit to protect himself from the emptiness of space, only a plain white t-shirt with blue jeans and sandals. No protection was needed, after all Omega was a Power of nearly limitless abilities. Surviving in the dark voids of space was only one power he possessed.
Omega reached into his pocket and pulled out a small palm device. It had a screen that was cycling through an alien combination of characters. He studied it for a moment then looked impatiently back at the planet. Only a little bit longer now…
A continuous stream of energy erupted from the planets North Pole. Glee etched itself into Omegas stone like face. He placed the palm device back into his pocket and watched as another erupted at the opposing pole. As the two erupting bursts of energy grew in intensity, bolts of energy several miles long would crackle to life at one pole and zigzag across the planet to the other. Only a few of these bolts of energy appeared at first, but as the poles became a mass of quivering energy the zigzagging bolts became more frequent.
On the surface the inhabitants fled screaming from their homes and businesses. Their cities were reduced to rubble as bolts of energy several miles long tore through their streets trying to get to one of the opposing poles. Red pulsating blotches began to appear on the planet where the continents seemed to be the greenest, Omega knowing the planets forests had ignited in an unquenchable flame.
The planet was now a swirling mass of chaotic color. The oceans began to boil causing massive amounts of dead aquatic life to float to the top. Even creatures that dwelled in the deepest parts of the ocean could not escape the boiling heat and floated lifelessly to the surface. Mountains exploded into lethal debris as more energy bolts tore through the land.
Finally the energy over took the planet. Omega could hear the screams of death coming from its inhabitants in his mind. Pleading for their lives to a god that would not help nor save them. So much noise. A blinding white light erupted from the planet in all directions, a stark contrast to the blackness of space.
It was an explosion, though their had been no sound. When the light finally faded it revealed a bleak outcome for the planet. Scattered rock laid spread out where the planet had once been. Their was nothing left to reveal that at one time their had been a magnificent planet floating in the void. Only a field of asteroids remained.
Two months of building and planning for seven minutes of chaos. I need to either shorten the time it takes to build the machines or make the destruction process take longer. Omega thought as he stared at the asteroid field. He sighed, unhappy with the results and disappeared.
His body reappeared in front of another planet, this one just as pristine as the last. This planet was larger than the last and he could sense much more life radiating from it, more life than he had felt before. Omega concentrated and heard thousands of voices in his head. He filtered through them until he found what he wanted to hear, Earth, he smiled and his eyes flashed red, I’m home.
