The sun set on the battered corpse of Lamby, but though it was gloomy outside, there was much merriment in the red light district. Lady Lugiasian, rejoicing on the return of Spiffy, was now thoroughly unsober, and a very friendly drunk. As she wiggled and jiggled around the room, she whispered instructions to her underlings.
"Well, let's have a great time tonight, everybody. Since Spiff's back, 10 Drachma to everybody, first thing. Second, we'll have an easy game tonight. Each of you will be dealt three cards, and then three more tomorrow night. You simply need to guess if the corresponding cards are going to be higher, or lower."
Proper Form: Card 1: Higher Card 2: Lower Card 3: Lower etc. Your ten drachma received is +5 for each correct choice, and multiplied by 2 for each success starting with the first without a failure. (Maximum earnings: 200 by guessing all three right.) Aces are the highest card.
DEAL: Photu 8 2 7
RLRL 7 Queen Ace
Babs 6 Ace 3
Kazkame 6 Jack 7
Prime Jack 5 10
Pope 5 6 10
Andurin 9 Jack Jack
Cinders Queen Ace 10
Ocelot 2 6 Jack
Crayolaking Jack 10 King
Pikachu King 9 Queen
Spiffy 3 Jack King
Loogs gave a slight hiccup. "Also, out of the players that participate tonight, two will be randomly chosen, and given Parts B and C. So be vigi-*Hick*lant."

200 vs. 20 and 15? Just for getting cards that were farther from the middle than other people got? My, my.

It's a game.

I know it is. That doesn't necessarily mean that pure randomness on this scale is right though. I'll trust that Lee knows what he's doing, however.

That's like saying that glaring plot holes in a movie are perfectly acceptable because "it's a movie".

No, they aren't. Glaring plot holes in a movie obviously aren't going to affect your regular life (I hope), but if the movie doesn't set rules for itself and obey them, then the characters might as well turn into purple trapezoids and have a lengthy discussion comparing and contrasting the works of Ibsen to a small scraping of paint from the wall. Similarly, if a game's rules are broken -- and I think, here, that the rewards system is indeed unbalanced -- the game loses its merit. Yes, it's just a game, but that doesn't excuse it from problems within its own structure. It just means no one should pull out a giant mallet and start trashing the place because of it.

This is another one of those extremely luck based ones. I actually prefer strategy and such, but I wanted to bomb the town with Drachma to kill the store inventory down to an appropriate measure. And I felt like a fairly random game would give one last chance to some folks who have been kicked around all game.
