Okay, that's
Lee Prolly Loogs Prime Aurora Pikachu Cinders
Who else? Andurin? RLRL? Dragon Lord? Bulbs? Kara? Baboon? I'd be happy with at least three or four of you guys, but all six would be AWESOME.

Sure, I'll play your game, potato. It actually sounds interesting, just make sure it's really tightly organized and it should provide a bit of amusement.

We should all choose a replacement voter/have one chosen for us so that we don't get jammed up when one of us can't get online in a night, no?

Hm. Is it definitely going to be each night at a single time? I don't know if we can get everyone on in each night, and there aren't enough replacement people, I'd imagine. Maybe each round should be 2 days? I dunno, let's leave it up to potato. (Yes, I like calling him potato.)

The game revolves on a day/night cycle, but I doubt this will conform to real time, for the reasons Baboon listed. Most likely each "day" will be 24 hours, as will each "night". Doubling the lifespan of the game is not a bad thing in our case.
Lee brings up a good point too. I'll address that when the game begins in earnest. If we're just talking "replacement voter" as in "someone whose vote counts double in the absence of someone else", I think it might be interesting if replacement voters were chosen privately instead of publicly. So you know who your replacement voter is, but you don't know for whom you serve as a replacement voter. If Lee was thinking replacement voting would work another way, I urge him to elaborate.
I'd like to set a deadline for signups. Why don't we start the game on Wednesday morning? That gives the others a couple more nights to sign up.

I think that unnotified double count adds even another element of intrigue to this whole thing, especially with some of the twists it could unleash. What roles are there, other than doctor?
Sounds like it's pretty solid for a plan.

Just Doctor, Madia, and Townsperson.
You could call the mafia hitmen if you want to.

I actually have more ideas than that. (I say "ideas" without any pretension of originality; these are all archetypical characters in the game.) For instance, on the side of the Innocents is a Detective who can ask the Host (via PM) about the alliances of other characters. He may do so during the night, and up to three times throughout the course of the entire game. The Host is expected to answer truthfully but does not reveal anything about the player's particular role beyond their alliance with either the Mafia or the Innocents.
To make that more interesting, there's a special Mafia Member called the Godfather. If the Detective asks about this particular character, the Host must lie and claim that the Godfather is an Innocent. Conversely, there's an Innocent called the Miller; if the Detective asks about him, the Host must claim he is a Mafia Member.
I have other roles, too, mostly culled from the Wikipedia article on the game. My hope is that there won't be any "generic" Innocents with no active or latent powers whatsoever.

Hush! They can't know about that until the psychological exp-- I mean, Mafia game is over! I have to separate the ruthless killers and cunning orators from the rest of the drabble for March's "recruitment"!

It's a fun game. Though we use to play it with 1 Mafia, 1 Doctor, and 1 Host. Everyone else who played was townspeople.
Sure I'll play.

Thank you.
EDIT: Sent invitations to Lugiasian, Dragon Lord, RLRL, Diamond Princess and ch00beh. Nobody else seemed to have posted recently enough to merit an invitation. Which is not to say that surprise returning members like Kevin or Gilgamesh would be anything less than totally welcome to join.

No, not Gil. But PM Cinders if you haven't already, she'd join. She's already anxious for the new board to go up.

Lee Prime Aurora Pikachu Cinders Baboon Bulbs Dragon Lord
That's a good number, but there are still some people I want in on this, mentioned above. I'll extend the deadline to Saturday.

True, true; I might be pressing my luck, but since at least one person has to die each "day" and each "night", the game would be awful short as it currently stands.

Great!
I think one reason why we've stalled at the last couple of members is the private message display. It's so inconspicous. I've done gays (meant to write "gone days", there, but the best Freudian slips should always be left untouched) without noticing new PMs, and it seems the same has happened to Diamond Princess, RLRL and ch00beh, none of whom (my Outbox tells me) have actually read my PM yet.

You can set your profile options to prompt when you have new PMs. It's incredibly convenient.

Yes! I was hoping somebody else would sign up to fill Aurora's void (nine players was what I wanted).
I'll talk to Lee about getting this thang STARTED yo.
EDIT: Wait. Darn it! I forgot, we only have eight players. Should I PM ch00beh and Diamond Princess again? Will they receive a popup message this time, Lee? I looked on my profile to see if that was just me, but it appears that option has vanished.
