Note: Hm. I can't think of good titles. >.<
Anyways, this is basically the histories of 7 characters I made up for a movie that I'd like to animate, but I'm too lazy to do , who were also going to be used as characters for the futuristic RP, but I dunno what happened with that. So, I'll be rewriting Prime's scenario a bit (aka a whole bunch), setting stuff up with a prologue. Plus plot stuffs, maybe, if I'm feeling particularly inspired.
Prologue
Mankind has reached Mars. There had been another space race, much like the one to the Moon, between China and the US to reach the red planet, with a literal race between the two vessels as they were both launched on the same day. Leaps and bounds occured in space flight technology: the first two ships sent to mars were collossal structures propulsed by fusion reactions. Technology continued to leap as interplanetary movement became a high interest in the various space fairing governments.
When mankind had reached the asteroid belt, they began connecting smaller ones together or just using the largest they could find, creating full colonies to support the overpopulation on earth or bases for military and scientific use. The new region simply became known as "The Belt", with residents of the area called "Belters." Earth's moon and Mars were terraformed using genetically modified bacteria to help create an atmosphere at the same time that the Belt was being settled. Colonies were started on the two celestial objects after they were pronounced habitable, but most colonies still stay within large biodomes, like the ones used by Belter colonies, to help protect settlers. The moon was later renamed "Luna" by her residents.
Tensions were high during the space race. The allied effort between countries, the International Space Station, had been almost completely abandoned as soon as the race started. Competitions slowly drove the countries of Earth apart. It finally erupted into full scale war when a few Belter colonies were destroyed by Martian military ships. Belters, having to navigate through the asteroid field all the time, had genetically engineered their kind to maximize their flying potential, such as increasing reaction times but leaving physical strength out since that wasn't as important in the low gravity. In space, the Belters almost always won the battles with superior flying skills, but the Martian infantry was second to none, including that of the Earth, defeating anything that was attempting to fight near the ground. The Earth and Luna, who had an alliance with each other for obvious reasons, remained neutral in the war.
However, the war only lasted a few months as a new threat emerged. Unseen during the strife was a fleet of alien ships that took their base in the moons of Saturn and Jupiter. After the few months of the Belta-Martian War, the fleet of unnamed aliens attacked, destroying many asteroid colonies, also completely destroying Ceres, the largest of the asteroids in the Belt. The aliens refused any communications while they systematically destroyed the Belt with technology that outpaced humanity's. Earth, with all its resources, was able to rival some of their technology with advances in energy based weaponry and computer intelligence, and thus they sent new ships to the Belt, allowing the formidable pilots to take the ships to fight off the new threat. The Martian military also joined forces with the new United Terran Alliance, sending their ground forces to help defend the Belter asteroids.
Eventually, after a decade of fighting, the alien army was finally pushed back, and eventually retreated out of the solar system, destroying their bases on the various moons they used. No one had actually seen one of the aliens, as all the fighting was done from spacecraft or mechs.
53 A.S., the peace that had followed the Alien war begins to crumble again. To help their army, cloning and genetic experimenting was developed on Mars. However, these two things had been banned on Earth, and the ensuing moral debate caused tensions to flare again. With Earth and Mars concentrating on creating an army for an almost inevitable war, the Belt was left to recontstruct itself, thus falling into chaos and poverty.
