“Aw, zut,” ‘Dille spat, shielding his eyes against the sun. He’d already meandered his way up the steep Muraille Coast, battled his way through an assortment of tourists and townsfolk alike, and had now found himself at the ‘Piste Piquante’. The ‘Piste’ (often fittingly pronounced “Pissed” by the tourists) had a reputation not just in Kalos, but world round as one of the nastiest hiking paths imaginable. It was rife with huge sloped boulders that made finding purchase nigh impossible, insidious scree that could send you careening off the mountainside, and fields of jagged stone that could shred through even the most rugged of hiking boots. Not to mention a complement of territorial wild Pokémon, and delusional hardcore survivalists… Quite the welcoming party.
Still, if he was going to make it to the Grotte Etincelante, the “Sparkling Caverns”, he’d have to be willing to brave all of those hazards. Possibly more, even, considering how things tended to go in his life. A brisk mountain breeze rifled through his dirty blonde hair as he shouldered his pack, though his bun remained secure. Giving himself one more once over, he made sure that his two Pokéballs, both black with yellow and red detailing, were properly placed and easily accessible in gunslinger style hip-holsters dangling from his belt. Many of his fellow Kalosians had called such a utilitarian, almost Orrean setup tactless and crude, but fashion had always taken a back seat to pragmatism for the college-aged trainer.
Allowing himself one more look down the side of the mountain, he took his first step into Route 9 of Kalos, the much reviled Piste Piquante.
Before he’d even had time to lift his other leg, his footing gave way, and he slammed facefirst into the gravel.

OOC: Transcribed for our newbie, since she doesn't have an account yet: The fluffy tail of GiGi's Sylveon whisked past the face of the apparently clutzy hiker that had just tumbled into the path. GiGi tilted her head and giggled, the sunlight adding a lustrous shine to her long white hair and heightening the playful sparkle in her wide blue eyes. "For a disaster with feet, he's kinda cute," she mused. "Well, Syl, we better go see if he needs help," she said to her Sylveon whilst starting in the direction of Trippy the Tumbling Traveler.
Tiny as she was, stacking up at about 4' 11" and weighing very little, GiGi knew that her footsteps barely made a sound on the earth as she approached. Unfortunately, she was much more shy in reality than she was in her own world. Once she was within hearing range of the strange person still sprawled across the path, she summoned up her courage and began to speak. "Excuse me, but, I saw you fall. Do you need any help?" She extended a small, delicate hand in his direction.

"Umf, I'm..." Cedille tried to discretely spit out some bloody saliva, and wiped his lips on his sleeve. He offered his clean hand to the newcomer, his calloused hands dwarfing her fairy-like digits, "I'm fine, but thanks. Just trying to get to Glittering Cave, since I'm looking for a kind of Pokémon that can only be found there."
"I'm Cedille Martel, by the way. Enchanté de faire votre connaissance." He took advantage of the fact that he hadn't yet stood up all the way, and bowed his head in greeting.

GiGi's cheeks turned bright pink. "I-I'm GiGi. GiGi Sparkleburst. It's nice to meet you" Searching for something, anything , intelligent to say, she asked, "Glittering Cave huh? I like glitter." Nice one Gi. Real classy, she thought to herself. She could feel the color in her cheeks brightening even more
She peered up at Cedille to gauge his reaction.

"You're welcome to come along. Just don't fall off the mountain, okay? My Drifloon PROBABLY won't be able to break your fall." Cedille offered gently but firmly.
Raising an eyebrow, GiGi replied, "I'd love to come. But let's keep in mind which one of us was just planted facefirst." Upon saying this her eyes widened and her hand flew up to her mouth. "I'm so sorry! I didn't mean... well I did but... oh gosh..." With that she turned heel, fully intent on running as far away as possible

OOC Note: Due to the way this plot is playing out, I've decided instead of going post by post, I'm going to instead gather up all the posts from a day and post them each night (or if things slow down, once a week). Henceforth on, BloodWolf7 will be in GREEN AlbatrossTrevelyan will be in BLUE Our newest writer, who has yet to pick a pen name for herself, is in PINK And I will not color tag my own stuff, as I'm likely to be the most verbose.

"Careful, you don't want to fall too" said a young woman as she slid carefully down a nearby boulder. "Hey you said you're heading towards Glittering Cave, right? Sorry, I couldn't help but overhear you." She held a hand out to Cedille. "If it's alright, mind if I tag along? I have business there too." she said, smiling brightly at him.
Barely audibly, with a faraway look in her eyes, GiGi whispered, "please don't leave me behind."
"Of course not." said the newcomer, turning her smile to GiGi. "Safety in numbers, ya know?"
Gigi look up, and nodded her head slightly in agreement.
"Come on, come on, this is Kalos," Cedille chirped, planting his boot on a boulder and looking out over the vista. "If there's one thing a Kalosian man knows, it's that you never, ever, ever, leave a lady behind. Especially not the pretty ones."
GiGi's eyes widened in surprise as she turned her head sharply to look at Cedille. Did he mean me? She wondered. Her heart fluttered slightly. Knock it off, Gi! So he's eloquent. And charming. Big deal! Having concluded her mental conversation, GiGi shook her head, her previously bewildered expression being replaced with a determined pout as she breezed a short distance ahead of the group, her Sylveon close behind her.
Suddenly, GiGi stopped dead in her tracks and pointed ahead. "What's that? It's so fluffy!" And with that she ran even further ahead, determined to identify the fluffy thing
