A normal day, so far. That is, until the young man came running up.
"Officer! Officer!" The young man, obviously a trainer, gasped for breath as he came to a stop in front of a uniformed patrolman.
"All right, calm down. What's wrong?"
"It's Sabrina! Someone's attacked the gym, kidnapped Sabrina!"
"Did you see where they went?"
Finally, the trainer had caught his breath. "Not clearly, but I heard him say something about 'an excellent subject'. There's an abandoned building not far from the gym that was once a Pokemon lab. That's probably where he went."
The officer reached down, pulling a handheld radio from his pocket. "This is officer Three-niner-zero."
A staticky voice came back over the radio. "Roger, three-niner-zero. Report."
"Have just recieved report of kidnapping. Witness believes location to be abandoned lab near Pokemon Gym. Request backup."
"Roger. Proceed to the location. Backup will meet you there."
"Acknowledged. Three-niner-zero, over and out." The officer replaced the radio in his pocket.
"Thanks, officer. I'll head back to the gym. If there's anything more I can do to help..."
"We'll take it from here. Don't worry, we'll find her."
Later, a team of officers were gathered outside the abandoned building. "Something's wrong," said the leader. He pulled out his radio. "Officer two-five-two to base. There's some sort of strange red glow surrounding the building."
"Acknowledged, two-five-two. Proceed with caution."
"Acknowledged." With that, the officer stepped forward, reaching towards the door handle. Suddenly, he pulled his hand back as if he had just received an electric shock. "Two-five-two to base. Negative on entry. That glow's some sort of barrier. We can't get through."
"Acknowledged. Fall back for now, but remain on scene. We'll try to figure out how to get you in there."
"At least now we know something's going on in there. But what?" With that, the officers backed away from the building.
"I think we're in over our heads," said one of the officers. "Could it be one of the criminal Teams?"
"I doubt it. There haven't been any reports of activity from Team Rocket in a couple of years, and the other Teams never were active in Kanto."
OOC: Note that none of my characters have shown up at this point. This is intentional. If anyone cares, this is supposed to be happening after "Town Under Glass" but before "Sinnoh Adventure".

OOC: Sorry for the double post
===Edit===
Clarrisa knocked on a huge mansion door, the sounds of the knocking echoed in the loud corridors of the mansion. The door opened slowly and a man with a black and white servant suit answered the door. "Hello Mistress Morningstar, it has been quite some time."
"Yes..." Clarissa said with a deep breath "Yes it has..."
It has been a really long time she has seen her folks last, she severed ties with long ago, so that she herself could be successful and experience what it was like to own her own business. Now she was back to try and establish a relationship to those who raised her.
"Your parents are going to be thrilled to see you again ma'dear." The butler said with a monotone voice.
"I would only imagine" She replied hinting nervousness.
Clarissa walked through the familiar halls heading for the parents den, her heels clicking loudly through the marble floors. After a short walk she arrived to her parents den, where they spent most their time in the day.
Opening the door slightly she spoke with sincerity "Mom, dad, I have come to visit."
An elderly man stood wearing a brown vest and dress pants lifted his glasses, and rubbed his eyes. "Clarissa, that you?" he spoke softly.
"Yeah, its me, where is mother?" Clarissa replied quizzically.
"Oh.... She is out in Celedon, she is checking the company status." A warm smile erupted form her fathers face. "It is so nice to see you, you are so beautiful."
"Oh father..." Clarissa said flattered.
"Oh, how is your business doing? I hear your pretty successful!"
"It is doing wonderfully, I left it in the hands of my first assistant for the time being, until I return. I am raising a pokémon." Clarissa said confidently.
"Oh, now what kind of pokémon do you have?"
"I have an Eevee her name is Mai! We haven't been together long, but our relationship is definitely growing." Clarissa pulled out her pokéball and Eevee appeared in front of her.
Mai let out a long yawn and laid down at her feet. The warmth of the room making her drowzy and quickly fell asleep.
"She is just as spoiled as I am, but amazing in battle, I tell you that." Smiling the trainer bent over and stroked her companion, Mai.
"Why she is just as beautiful as her trainer" The phone rang next to her father, and he picked it up. A panicked voice on the phone... His eyes widened "Sabrina is missing, where could she be? Kidnapped you say!"
"Mai, return!" Clarissa said loudly, the pokemon going back into its ball reluctantly. "I have to go!" Clarissa ran (as fast as she coul in heels) out the door and hopped into her car. She drove to Sabrina's gym, looking for her most dear friend. She spotted police officers on the site, and questioned them as to what happened. They knew nothing except for the fact they could not enter the building. "Where are you Sabrina?" muttering under her breath.

Police cars. Lots of them, in fact. Tearing up the streets, sirens sounding, cutting into the otherwise peaceful surroundings. They were all aiming for the same place: an old, abandoned laboratory in the nothern part of Saffron City.
Yoshimitsu noticed this, the police activity. He mused to himself, considering it for a minute. He hadn't been in an exciting situation for a while, and this was just begging to be investigated. He shrugged, grinning, and started to jog after the police cars.
Minutes later, he was stood outside the building in question, just behind the police. All the officers had their guns out, a few of them taking test shots at the entrance. Yoshimitsu frowned. Whjy were they aiming at the broken doorway? Surely, if someone was inside, they would want to capture them, rather than kill them? Yoshimitsu looked closer. The door was covered by some kind of strange glow, one that was deflecting the bullets.
Quick as a flash, Yoshimitsu shot past the police, his sword drawn, and launched an almighty slash at the barrier. There was a bright flash and sound like a cannon being fired. Once the light died down, Yoshimitsu looked at the barrier. There was a gash in it, one that was sealing itself again.
"This looks familiar... Umbreon, I need a hand," Yoshimitsu said, dropping a pokeball. With a flash of light, Umbreon appeared beside Yoshimitsu, stretching and yawning, clearly glad to be out of his pokeball. He looked up at his trainer, awaiting instruction.
"'Kay, I need to break down this barrier. Can you channel your Faint Attack into my sword?" Umbreon nodded. "Cool. When you're ready then."
Umbreon closed his eyes, the golden rings on his body starting to glow. Yoshimitsu raised his sword, feeling the energy rush into it, the flow of the dark-type attack powering his blade. With a single, solid, quick movement, Yoshimistu launched a second slash at the barrier, which fizzled for a moment before dropping entirely.
"We wont have much time, that wont keep it down for long. Let's go, Umbreon," Yoshimitsu said, and the pair of them rushed into the building. He glanced back to see the barrier already trying to reconstitute itself. He guessed it would be back up in a couple of minutes.

"Two-five-two to base. A civilian has just breached the barrier, but it looks like it'll be back before we can get in. Please advise."
"Maintain your perimeter for now. Something tells me, if this civilian was able to get past the barrier, he's better prepared for this than we are."
The officer chuckled, but the mirth went out of it quickly. "Probably. I don't like it. Feels wrong to let a civilian take care of our job for us."
--------
Meanwhile, in the middle of the building, a woman was struggling back into consciousness. "Huh... whuh?" she grunted groggily, then realized that her legs and arms were secured to the wall behind her. She concentrated, evidently expecting to loose her restraints by sheer force of will, but nothing happened.
"Oh, come now, Sabrina," said a sinister voice. "Did you really think that after going to all the trouble to get you here, I wouldn't have accounted for your telekinetic abilities?"
"You'll never get away with this, whoever you are!"
"Why do people always feel compelled to use that line? You don't even know what I'm trying to 'get away' with. Oh, but how rude of me. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Keris Lisdon. And you, my dear, are going to be an excellent subject for my experiment." With that, Keris brandished a Pokeball and grinned. A few seconds later, his grin faded into a thoughtful look.
"Well, it looks like someone's decided to try to rescue my little damsel in distress," Keris said. "He's powerful, but if my experiment succeeds, even he won't be able to stand against me. Of course, that's even assuming he manages to get in here. I've set up a few... surprises for any uninvited guests." With that, Keris reached into his pocket, and withdrew a small piece of crystal.
Sabrina shuddered. "Is that... a shard of the Psychic Crystal? But, it was destroyed!"
"Yes, it was. I was there."
"But, I thought nothing remained of the crystal."
"So did I. I even lost what I thought had been the last shard to a trio of trainers. I only discovered this one after I had left." Keris smiled darkly. "The amount of power in this tiny piece of crystal is more than you would believe. This little bauble is an inexhaustible source of psychic energy. So far, I've only used the shard to fuel my own powers, but it's time to find out what effect it can have on a Pokemon." With that, Keris strode over to a strange machine in the center of the room, and placed the shard in a clamp in the center. Then, he took the Pokeball he had been holding back out of his pocket. Sabrina's eyes darted to Keris' belt, where she saw a row of six other Pokeballs. Her mouth gaped open in horror.
"It's too risky for me to try infusing my own Pokemon with the crystal's power, so your Alakazam should be a fitting substitute. Oh, but don't worry. If all I wanted for this was your Alakazam, you wouldn't be here. You and your Pokemon are about to be more closely linked than ever before." With that, Keris reached down. When he rose again, each hand held a small alligator clip, attached to a wire which ran into the machine. "You see, the crystal's power cannot be transferred without the help of a human psychic. That's where you come in." Keris stepped confidently over to Sabrina, and attached each of the clips to one of Sabrina's ears.
Finally, Keris stepped back over to the machine, and placed Alakazam's Pokeball in a slot that had evidently been intended for just such a thing. Sabrina began to struggle anew, to no avail. She was too securely restrained for physical struggles to do any good, and her psychic powers were evidently being blocked.
OOC: I recommend that anyone following the plot read "Town Under Glass", as this is directly growing out of it. <(0^_^0)>-ZzZzZ, you can bring Clarissa into the building in your next post if you still want to be in on this.

"Okay, let's see..." Yoshimitsu said, looking around briefly. There was no reception to this lab, the first room being little more than an antechamber. No windows, and only two doors, one of which being the one he just passed by. Yoshimitsu approached the other door, and examined it for a moment. It did not open as he got closer, which he didn't expect it to, but there wasn't a handle or alternate way of opening the door. He didn't have to look far to find out why - there was a keypad by the door. Obviously, some kind of code was needed to get in.
"Any thoughts, Umbreon?" Yoshimitsu asked his pokemon. Umbreon gave a non-commital "breeoon", and just stared at the keypad. Yoshimitsu laughed, then turned his attention back to the keypad. "Let's see, it needs a code, but... I don't have enough time to work it out. Maybe stupid brute force'll work." With that, Yoshimitsu punched the keypad, shattering the plastic. The effect was immediate - the door hissed, then slid back to reveal a corridor.
"What do ya know, it worked," Yoshimitsu said, grinning. Umbreon rolled his eyes. Yoshimitsu laughed again, and entered the next corridor. "Alright, Umbreon, can you use Foresight to see if there are any laser-triggers or anything?" Umbreon nodded, and looked down the corridor, his eyes glowing blue. Yoshimitsu, too, looked down the corridor, knowing how Umbreon's Foresight worked. If there were any lasers, it would reveal them for all to see, not just Umbreon. However, nothing appeared. Breathing a sigh of relief, Yoshimitsu began walking down the corridor.
Nothing had happened so far. "I'm kinda surprised," Yoshimitsu said to Umbreon. "You'd think that if someone went to so much trouble of kidnapping someone then hiding in here, they'd make it a bit more difficult to find them." Umbreon shot Yoshimitsu a look that clearly said 'Don't jinx it, you idiot'. "Ahh, stop it Umbreon. If nothing's happened so far, I don't really expect anything could."
As if on cue, the floor beneath Yoshimitsu gave way. Umbreon jumped to the side before he could fall, but Yoshimitsu was not so lucky. He caught a glimpse of the hole beneath him, a fairly deep one with what looked like spikes at the bottom. Instinctively, he drew his sword and plunged it into the side of the pit, anchoring him in place. "Okay, okay, I admit it, I was wrong," he said, pulling out a second pokeball. He pushed the button twice, and with a flash Gardevoir appeared at the top of the pit. Without an order, Gardevoir began glowing, and Yoshimitsu felt himself being lifted out of the hole, sword and all, back up to safety.
"Cheers Gardevoir," Yoshimitsu said, returning the psychic type. "Fine, I'll be more careful from now on," he added, seeing Umbreon's expression. Umbreon did not reply, and continued down the corridor. Yoshimitsu sighed, and followed his pokemon.
OOC- Ew, cack.

Keris pricked up his ears for a moment, then smiled malevolently.
"Ah, it seems our intruder is doing better than I thought at getting past my little... surprises. I admit, part of me was hoping he would make it; he will be an excellent guinea pig for my experiment."
Sabrina grunted. "It's official. You're completely insane."
Keris chortled. "Maybe so, but then, sanity is over-rated. Ah, I can feel the flow of power into our test subject. It's even greater than I had hoped. Once the transfer is complete, I doubt any Trainer alive would be able to defeat this kind of power."
"And what makes you so sure you will be able to control that power?" Sabrina spat.
"Nice try, but I know better than to reveal all the details, no matter how good the situation looks for me. You shall see for yourself, when the time is right. And if our... guest continues as he has been, that shouldn't be long. Still, I wonder how he will cope with the next set of obstacles."
Sabrina's eyes flashed, and suddenly, her expression was set in stone. Two soft clicks sounded. Keris gasped as Sabrina's restraints popped open, and she stepped out, her face alight with triumph.
"How did you get free?"
Sabrina scoffed. "I found a way to tap into that power flow, and used it to unlock my shackles. Really, did you expect anything less from a psychic of my caliber?"
"Impressive, but I'm afraid you're too late. The transfer of power is already complete. How fitting that you will be laid low by your own Pokemon!" Keris snatched the Pokeball from the machine, and quickly tapped the button. The ball burst open, emanating a flash of a dark purple light. Seconds later, a humanoid yellow Pokemon, holding a spoon in each hand, was revealed. Alakazam glowed with a harsh purple aura, and its eyes held a look of pure cruelty.
Sabrina held out her hand, and a flash of white light became a Pokeball in her hand. She tossed the Pokeball to the ground, releasing a burst of pure, white light. Quickly, this formed into a Pokemon which looked like a purple ball with arms, legs, a tail, and a face. "Gengar, let's show this creep! Shadow Ball!"
Gengar brought its hands together, and a blackish-purple ball of energy formed between them, quickly growing to the size of a basketball. The wily ghost Pokemon took one hand away, and thrust the other towards Alakazam, sending the ghostly energy ball hurtling towards the extraordinarily empowered Psychic. All for naught, though; Alakazam blinked, and suddenly disappeared in a flash of white light, appearing moments later directly behind its ghostly foe. Alakazam grunted, and suddenly Gengar was surrounded by a dark blue aura. The ghost screamed in pain, and collapsed, disappearing into its Pokeball in a dim red flash.
"That ghost may recover," snarled Keris, "but you may not be so lucky!" Alakazam turned to its former mistress, and in an instant, she too was bathed in a dark blue aura. The psychic trainer screamed, high enough and loud enough to shatter glass if there had been any in the room. Then, her former friend waved his hand, and she crashed into the nearest wall at an alarming speed. Sabrina collapsed to the ground, her eyes closed.
OOC: Will Sabrina live? I don't even know yet. I know, we don't usually use the anime in PRP, but Alakazam v. Gengar seemed like it'd be a good "battle" to write for this. Yoshi, I will PM you with the next set of obstacles in your character's way.

"Makes you wonder, though," Yoshimitsu said, carrying on down the corridor. "Why would someone want to kidnap Sabrina? I mean, sure, she's a gym leader and all that, but there hasn't been any kind of conditions for her release. Could it have something to do with her psychic powers?" Umbreon gave another non-commital grunt. Yoshimitsu ran a finger over his face, tracing out a couple of his scars. "I dunno, I haven't heard anything about a psychic villain or anything. Maybe a dark-type villain? Maybe pokemon types affect people now?" Yoshimitsu laughed, and invoked a glare from Umbreon. "Oh come on, Umbreon, it's funny!"
Suddenly, there was a shuddering sound, and some dust fell from the ceiling. Yoshimitsu looked up just in time to see a thick metal door start descending. "Whoa!" Instinctively, he dived backwards and rolled to his feet, looking up to see the door ram down into the floor. Yoshimitsu noticed red lights running along the edges of the door. No keypads were around this time, and no other visible ways of opening the door. Yoshimitsu stood up straight, his hand on his sword. However, Umbreon stood in front of him, clearly saying that it was a bad move to blindly attack the door. Yoshimitsu looked at his pokemon, then looked at the door. He could feel it. Some kind of power that wasn't normal, like magic or... No, it felt more like the barrier at the entrance of the lab.
"Hang on, I have an idea... Gardevoir, I need your help again," Yoshimitsu said, dropping Gardevoir's pokeball again. "Gardevoir, can you use Psychic to raise that door? And when you've done that, Umbreon, if there's anything else blocking it, it'll be that same power as that barrier. Can you take it down?" Both pokemon nodded, and immediately turned to the door.
Gardevoir clasped her hands together and closed her eyes, her plate on her chest glowing vivid blue. That same glow covered the door, and Yoshimitsu could hear it scraping as Gardevoir forced it upwards again. Slowly, the door rose, sending more dust falling from the ceiling. Just past the door, Yoshimitsu could see a second glow, red this time. A barrier. The same type as before. Umbreon glared at the barrier, his eyes glowing. Suddenly, with the sound like a cannon firing, Umbreon started channelling his dark-type energy into the barrier. Yoshimitsu realised one flaw just in time. "Gardevoir, Protect!" Yoshimitsu roared. Gardevoir teleported in front of Umbreon and threw up a barrier just in time - the barrier and the door both exploded violently sending debris flying everywhere. It hit the barrier and bounced off. Yoshimitsu looked ahead, waiting for the dirt to settle. Both the door and the barrier had gone.
"Alright, good work. C'mon," Yoshimitsu said, running down the rest of the corridor. Gardevoir and Umbreon exchanged a glance, then followed. Barely a minute later, they found themselves in a new room. Perfectly square, nearly completely blank. On the opposite wall, there were two doors, two meters apart. Yoshimitsu stopped, and looked at the room. "A split... How do I know which way is right?" Yoshimitsu muttered to himself. He glanced around the room again. There was no way of telling which way was right.
Suddenly, it hit Yoshimitsu like a sledgehammer. That power again. He could sense it, the psychic energy that was causing the barriers. "That's not right," he muttered. "It smells like a shell game."

OOC: OK, let's finally move this along. I gotta admit, I like how this is going so far.
BIC: Keris pricked up his ears, and chuckled to himself. "I see our guest likes to rely on brawn rather than brains. Ah, and he has a Psychic Pokemon with him. A powerful one, from the looks of it." Taking the crystal shard in hand, Keris closed his eyes, focusing on the psychic powers of his approaching foe. "Powerful, indeed," he said. "Its powers will be a great addition to my own. So, trainer, what will you do now?" With that, Keris launched into a wave of sinister laughter as he focused his powers, willing the crystal shard to drain the visiting psychic's powers into him.
Behind him, Keris heard a pained grunt. He turned to see the leader of the Psychic Gym struggling and failing to get to her feet. "So, Sabrina. It seems you have more life in you than I thought. But, no matter. Your psychic powers have been drained into uselessness, your Pokemon aren't there to help you, and you can barely even move."
Slowly, every word obviously costing her a great deal of effort, Sabrina replied. "You're insane. Somehow, you will be stopped."
Keris smirked. "Really, my dear, you must have watched too many Saturday morning cartoons when you were young. Think of me as a villain if you must, but remember -- the hero doesn't always win. Oh, and before you think of trying anything funny, just remember that I have more than enough power to end your life before our guest arrives. If you so much as raise a hand in my direction, I could crush your heart with a mere thought."
Sabrina shuddered, and slumped. What little of her psychic abilities were left told her that this was no idle threat. Keris had both the power and the psychological capability of carrying it out. Silently, she wondered if Keris even realized the effect that the power he had gained was having on him. Desperately, she reached out with her mind to the trainer who had been making his way through the building. Be wary, she thought to him, hoping beyond hope that he would somehow receive her message. You will be in great danger if you attempt to confront my kidnapper.

Two things happened at the same time. The first, Gardevoir grabbed her head and fell to her knees, looking as though she was suffering from a particularly painful headache, a dark purple glow covering her entire body. The second, Yoshimitsu really was hit by a splitting headache as Sabrina's mind reached out to him. His vision blurred, then failed completely, and instead he was watching a short scene between Sabrina and a mystery man. Before his vision had returned, he gave his order.
"Gardevoir, reverse the flow and take the psychic power!" He said quickly and urgently. There was a bright flash, and suddenly Gardevoir was on her feet again, glowing a violent blue, as though she had just performed several consecutive Calm Minds. Yoshimitsu nodded as his vision returned to him, and he turned to the door. "I was right, this is a shell game." Umbreon looked at him questioningly.
"It's pretty simple, actually. In a shell game, you have to pick the coin from under one of the three cups that get shuffled around," Yoshimitsu explained. "But making you pick the wrong cup isn't the guy's intention at all. What he wants you to do is pick any cup at all - the coin is in the guy's hand."
When Umbreon continued to look at him, completely bemused, Yoshimitsu laughed. "Right, let's say you have the power to make decoys. If you can make one decoy, then why not two? Whoever this guy is, he's trying to make up pick one of those two doors. Either one," Yoshimitsu said. "So that means..."
Much faster than the eye could follow, Yoshimitsu drew his sword and slashed the patch of wall directly in between the two doors. The effect was immediate. The whole wall flickered like a hologram, and faded, replaced by a wall with a single door. Yoshimitsu grinned. "Alright, let's end this chase," Yoshimitsu said, opening the door and running down the corridor, Umbreon and Gardevoir hot on his heels. He jumped and spinning kicked the door leading to where Keris was hiding with so much force it was thrown off its hinges. Yoshimitsu landed, ready for whatever was waiting.

"Ah, and here we go, the daring young hero, charging in to confront the villain," Keris said with a laugh, slowly turning to face the intruder. "Well done, young trainer. I'm afraid you're too late, though."
At that, Sabrina began to cough violently, her hands on her throat in the universal gesture of being unable to breathe. A few seconds later, she slumped to the ground, her eyes closed. "She's not dead yet," said Keris, "just passed out. Though, I wouldn't put odds on her remaining that way." Suddenly, the gym leader was enveloped in what appeared to be dark purple flames. Keris simply grinned. "If she does wake up, she'll probably have quite a headache. And I'd pay to see the look on her face when she realizes her psychic powers have been drained away completely. Ah, but enough fun. Alakazam, deal with this interloper!"
The superpowered psychic responded first by vanishing for a split second, reappearing in nearly two dozen different locations around the room. Before one could even blink an eye, all of the images were surrounded by rainbow orbs. As if on cue, all of them then pointed a spoon at Yoshimitsu's Pokemon, and the orbs exploded away from them, traveling all over the room before homing in on the two Pokemon. By now, all of them had taken on the pale yellow-green color that distinguished them as carrying a Bug-Type power. Their trajectories had been such that even though not all of the orbs were actually capable of doing any damage, it would be impossible to tell which image any given orb had come from, and therefore which was the real Alakazam.
