Now, our PRP setting has a very... turbulent relationship with the concept of levels. Some RPs treat it as an actual tangible measurable aspect of Pokemon (Fallfish) whereas most are more akin to the anime, implying that you can train to become more powerful without actually giving hard numbers. That said, where do you fellow authors see your Pokemon as falling?
Zebedee:
-Chinchou: Level 70ish. Zebedee's Chinchou is a fairly unique situation. I think neither one of them wants it to evolve, due to the loss of agility that comes with becoming, well, a whale.
-Pidgeot: Level 85ish. Zebedee's Pidgeot doesn't actually have all that many onscreen PRP battles under his belt. However, on the other hand, he's gone up against demons, aliens, vampires, summoners, armies, etc. I'm pretty sure he actually took down an alien mothership at one point. Though most of you won't remember it, before Zebedee unveiled his teleportation powers and his Full Holy Form, his Pidgeot was his go to weapon of choice.
Dace:
-Minnow (Burmy): Level 30, 35ish. As Dace implied, the same experimental procedures that made Minnow capable of form changing, gaining additional attacks, and actually using her cloaks for types like a Wormadam also seems to have hampered her ability to evolve. Minnow actually seems to be an example of neoteny in Pokemon, or retaining juvenile traits while at a greater maturity level.
-Burbot (Clamperl): Level 28ish. Just a Wild Clamperl, really, with barely any training yet. Dace has rehearsed attacks with them, but Burbot has precious little combat experience.
-Monkeyface Prickleback (Venomoth): Level 45ish. In Fallfish, it was heavily implied to be a Venomoth that somehow obtained a Berserk Gene, and in its rampage, ended up escaping Cerulean Cave. However, since he's far too high level to obey Dace, he isn't in her regular party yet.
Thyra:
-Sarracenia (Weepinbell): Level 55ish. Thyra's Weepinbell has been shown to be about on par with most gymleaders and Elite 4 level trainers, but she doesn't seem to be as exceptional of a trainer as Zebedee was. (With good reason, considering that she actually has a career and humanitarian works to attend to.)
-Feldspar (Onix): Level 50ish. Thyra's Onix occasionally turns up, but Weepinbell is her primary battler.
-Ursaring: 40ish, maybe? Every time her Ursaring comes out, the RP it's in dies. Assuming it's not the bear's Godlike power smiting the thread, it's really hard to gauge its power level.
Isambard:
-Monaco (Dodrio): Level 35ish. Monaco has some formal training, but has never really been able to thrive or succeed in any large way. Isambard's largely implied to be the sort of hapless background trainer that most protagonists encounter on their journey and crush without really thinking about it.
-Pays-Bas (Exeggcute): Level 30ish. Again, nothing very memorable, though he's agreed very well with Isambard's training style.
I think that's all the major ones from my current cast's parties. How about yours?
