My big gripe with the new board style is, what the hell happened to question marks? That question mark up at the end of the sentence right there is probably going to display as a pair of dashes, and even editing it doesn't fix the matter. This really changes RP when you read it. It's all a David Mamet-esque cascade of people talking over each other. Gotta look around for a bug reporting service.

------
?
this is not an acceptable workaround, but in case anyone is wondering, ? is the ASCII code for question marks. Since a double dash is used as a substitute for an m dash, it's not gonna be a simple matter of using the censor to convert question marks at the moment.
technical shit: the transformation is happening on the backend. Request message is correctly posted with question marks rather than dashes. digging into why that may be
technical shit 2: inspecting the response headers, they're actually coming back as dashes, not incorrectly encoded question marks.

Couldn't I just set the filters to make -- into ? ? Then again, there are quite a few RPs where I use --------------- to break scenes. Which makes all my writing look like the Riddler invaded it. :S Wait... (sees Choobs post) Well, that puts a damper on my Gordian knot solution, doesn't it? :/ Here's hoping this gets sorted out quickly.
Also, I'm loving the related threads and news stories function. Not very useful, but delightfully dadaist.

It feels like we should be making a forum game out of these new features somehow.

Couldn't I just set the filters to make -- into ? -- But then all the actual uses of double dash would be wrongly changed to question marks. The double dash is my go-to dash -- I don't like how the single one looks - it's just not the same.

Wait WHAT.
Okay, the following rows were located in the censored word list:
(censored term) - (replaced term) question mark - single apostrophe question mark - double apostrophe question mark - double apostrophe again question mark - single apostrophe again question mark - ellipsis question mark - double dash
They were sandwiched in between the lines mole06 and sv_sig. I have no idea how they got there. Obviously the last of them, the double dash, was the one taking precedence. Anyway this resolves the case of the question mark.
OR DOES IT???
Yes, yes, as you can see, it does in fact.

And for once, it wasn't me trolling Pohatu! I'm guessing it was some ghost in the machine, that popped up when the update kicked through. :/

I must say, I love the new board's notification system. "Molebolge quoted you in the thread New shit"
"Did you hear? That bitch quoted you." "Oh no she di-n't!"

Also, just an interesting note: Karma no longer exists. You can like posts instead, which is actually a much more intelligent way of doing things. With Karma, it was impossible to know who liked what things you did and why. This makes it much more obvious and prevents inflated scores, far as I can tell.
