To get warmed up for some heavier RP and such, figured I'd get a little discussion going. I've been trying to figure out how to categorize the cast of RP.
I think it goes something like: A-List: This character has entire plot arcs and alliances revolving around them. They're a fixture of RP to such a degree that new readers probably should know about them as an important part of the setting. Examples: Terrian, Miko, Natalie, Sly (?), Yoshimitsu B-List: These characters are important within their area and turn up frequently, but tend not carry full plot-arcs of multiple RPs in and of themselves. They're best described as guest stars. Examples: Helen, Blaise, Alyssa, Telrien, Rhys, Emily C-List: These characters are almost never the star of plots. They show up for bit parts in various RPs and alliances, but typically don't have much of a long reaching effect. They're typically more for flavor and characterization than driving forces behind an RP. Examples: Maude, Vieve, Cesare, Didn't, Tsubota
Now, mind you, the place characters are ranked here has nothing to do with quality; it's arguable that Miko is a much less interesting character than much of the C-list. The list is more about how notable characters are as part of the landscape of ORP, really.
So where would you rank the different members of your casts in here?

...damn it, you always know how to get me.
But I don't think I have any A-listers besides Terrian. Williams, Yoon, and Renard can jostle for B-list slots, and the rest of them are a bunch of lousy C-listers.
It's not so much that "new readers probably should know about" my characters "as an important part of the setting" as that "new readers are probably going to end up knowing about" my characters "whether they like it or not because Pohatu is a self-promoting scraper."

Yeah, I didn't want to mention Yoon or Williams in the initial post, because they both muddy the waters a lot. Williams isn't a driving force behind a lot of plot arcs (though he is frequently a major antagonist), but he's the core of a major force in the Archipelago, and Yoon, on the flip-side of things, has no real significant ties to any major group (bar some mutual favors with the Mafia), but is a major force between probably half a dozen different RPs at this point. Both are very, very A from most respects, but tend to stay out of being the main focus of any given RP.
(I'll be honest, I wish we saw more of an A-list presence from Massimo. I feel like he needs to have a bit more of a spotlight on him; as it is, the G-bros have this weird situation where the shy, quiet one and the one who complains about being overshadowed have virtually forced their brother, the head-honcho, out of focus. As it is, though, the Archipelago Mafia adds a fascinating component to RP, due to not functioning at all like the standard "Alliances".)
