“All right Ekans, let’s use your Screech followed by a Poison Stink.” a tall young man called out calmly.
A huge purple snake with a yellow stomach, neckband, and rattler at the end of its tail stood powerfully against a tangled mass of blue vines wearing a pair of red tennis shoes. The mighty Ekans opened its mouth full of razor sharp teeth and let out a blood-curdling scream. The ultrasonic pitch washed over the battlefield and struck the ball of vines known as Tangela, sharply lowering its defensive abilities. Without wasting a second, a flurry of purple needles erupted from Ekans mouth, striking Tangela. The thousand points of poison seeped into the grass types body and knocked it out cold. The trainer motioned for Ekans to come back and patted the large snake of the head.
“Good job there Ekans. All these years of training have really paid off. Your Poison Sting was amazing and Screech is really coming along. We’ll head out north and keep training to try to get you to become an Arbok, how does that sound?”
Ekans called its name is a raspy call and wrapped itself into a coil around its trainer’s legs. Ekans had always dreamed of becoming its evolved form of Arbok. A deep-rooted passion in becoming more powerful and becoming all that it could be had clenched Ekans soul since it hatched. Nothing had seemed more appealing to Ekans because of the simple fact that it wanted to be able to protect its trainer, for he had hatched Ekans and protected him from being eaten by a Zangoose. Since that day all Ekans wanted was to evolve to gain revenge and protect his precious master.
The trainer recalled Ekans into his pokeball and began heading north towards a heavily forested area. The young man was in his late teens and wise beyond his years. A deep brown feuxhawk graced the top of his head and a goatee on his chin. The young man wore a long sleeved black shirt with a brown tee over it. A tan skull and cross swords graced the front of the tee. Around his waist rested a black leather belt that held his pokeball and held his long, boot cut blue jeans up over his brown skater shoes. A brown-green messenger bag hung across his body, holding all his needed supplies.
As he walked north he began to pass a few odd sights. A group of young Smoochum played near a small pond. An Azurill hopped about on its tail and tried to grab an apple hanging high in a tree. A Wynaut rolled in the grass like a little child in the middle of summer. This all wouldn’t seem odd besides the fact that these were all very young pokemon and there were no parent pokemon or trainers nearby. It all seemed to make no sense. While standing there trying to make sense of the whole situation, a strange sight caught his eye.
A young, yet powerful, Geodude was called out loudly at a pokemon that the trainer had never seen before. The pokemon appeared to be a squirrel that was all white. Its tail was very large and had a blue stripe with a set of three spikes at the top. The top of the pokemons head had a similar design with only a pair of spikes. Two yellow circles on the pokemons cheeks gave it a cute appeal even through its fright. The trainer approached the pair and yelled at the Geodude to leave other pokemon alone, which frightened the ground type into running away. The strange white pokemon still cowered at the presence of the trainer, but seemed to be a bit more at ease.
“Hey there little one. I’m Zander Dimir, but everyone calls me Zee. You don’t have to be afraid anymore, that Geodude isn’t going to bug you anymore. You can go now little one.” Zee said softly to the little squirrel, but only got a shake of the head in response.
“Alright then, how about you come with me on my journey. You can stay on my shoulder and I’ll keep an eye on you. I’ve got an Ekans that will be more than glad to protect you. What do you say little one?” Zee asked as he extended a hand holding a pokeball out to the squirrel.
The tiny white pokemon sniffed the ball before it and with a bit of hesitation tapped it with its head, drawing the creature inside. The pokeball shook for a moment and then stood still. Zee smiled widely and then tapped the white button on the front. The white squirrel appeared back on Zee’s shoulder and remained silent. Zee began back north with many new thoughts in his head.
“What kind of pokemon is this? I’ve never seen this kind of pokemon and I have no idea where it came from. I don’t even know what type it is. This is all really weird.” Zee thought to himself as he walked into the thick woods before him.
Suddenly an explosion rocked the trees and set masses of young flying type pokemon flying in all directions. Zee began sprinting towards the source of the explosion to find a blacken crater with shards of metal sticking out of it. Zee inspected the area for a moment until he noticed that two dark figures were running deeper into the woods. Being one who worries, Zee ran after them. The branches and vines caught on Zee’s clothing and his body as he quickened after the two figures. As Zee and the two figures he pursued neared a clearing and a beautiful sight caught Zee’s eyes.
A massive grove of plants and vines grew up like nests and small beds. In these nests rested hundreds of pokemon eggs. Each one rested in its own little nest and was warmed by the sunlight above. Zee stood in awe as did the two figures he pursued. Nothing like this had ever been seen before by anyone and it was no wonder. If anyone had ever seen this place before they would have had access to just about any pokemon ever to exist. The legendary Pokemon Nursery was real.
The two figured that Zee chased after stepped into the light and appeared in strange clothing. Each wore a green jumpsuit with a star-like symbol on the back. One was a tall male with a blond buzz cut. The other was a shorter female with long red hair. Each one pulled out a pokeball and tossed them to the ground. A large Lickatung and a stout Pelipper appeared on the ground and without a command began to gather the eggs.
“Hey, stop it! Those eggs don’t belong to you. Put them back!” Zee protested as he pulled out the pokeball containing Ekans.
“Who? Oh, it’s just a late bloomer. Lickitung, Pelipper, keep up the good work, we’ll handle this little punk.” the woman said as she pulled out another pokeball and the man followed suit.
A pair of Houndoom appeared before the single trainer and growled low at the confident teen. Zee tossed out the ball containing Ekans and it burst into white light. Ekans took up a tight curl and glared at the two dark types. A battle was about to begin and it was one that Zee couldn’t take on his own.
“Man, I hope the smoke attracts someone that will help me. Ekans is strong, but he can’t do this alone.”
