Hey guys, I don't want to leave The Mole hanging much longer, but I want to pause for some introspection first. The game is taking a lot longer than I expected, partially because I haven't been as strict about scheduling as I wanted to but also partially because a twelve-player, thirty-challenge game was a wee bit overambitious from the start. At this rate, the game's going to be a yearlong event.
So I ask you this: What do you think about just flat-out eliminating two players right now, docking six challenges from the lineup, and therefore essentially proceeding as if we were on to Episode 6 instead of Episode 4?
Mind you, these wouldn't be any random two players. They would be a particular two players whom I don't want to name because I don't want to definitely deny that they could be the Mole... but whose identities I think you can guess pretty easily from reviewing the player list. One of them has participated very sporadically in the challenges but never even taken the quiz; the other one has taken the quiz at least once to my recollection but virtually never shown their face in the challenges.
If you're reading this, you're almost certainly not either of them.
I realize that in addition to the player question, dropping six challenges also reduces contestants' opportunities to observe each other and figure out who the Mole is, but since that will affect all contestants equally I think that's fair. And really, thirty challenges was overkill. Twenty-four of them is still more than enough for the observant to make the right conclusions.
What do you think? Move this along?
