Julia Romanesco sat in a leather office chair behind a dark wooden table. Fluorescent lighting was drowned out by bright sunlight streaming in through a large window on one side of the room. The other side was lined with bookshelves filled with literature regarding the human psyche and cognitive sciences. A few of the books were more colorful than the others; their titles and logos suggesting tricks and illusions rather than hard science.
The woman stared at the computer screen and sighed. This was getting ridiculous. There was definitely something wrong here at the Archipelago Site.
Julia made sure to log out of Formspring and closed her laptop. She had originally gotten it so that her patients could send her anonymous questions in an open forum (of course she also had a paper inbox and an email, but sometimes publicly answered questions helped everyone), but it ended up only with someone messing around with her account.
The first case was definitely one of her more troublesome clients. He confessed to it when confronted at his next session. It had a clear cause: Julia had forgotten to log out and left the computer on.
The second case was not so clear cut. The computer was off. She had logged out. But someone still used her account.
The worst part was that the techs said the hacked messages were still routed through Saeptum's servers, meaning that someone still managed to use her computer, or at the very least it was someone—or something—in this building.
Julia stood up, unplugging her computer and cradling it in her arm. She had an appointment with the techs today to scan her laptop for any problems. The doctor walked across the carpet, grabbing her purse off her couch as she passed, then opened the door to the rest of the building.
Without the furniture, natural light, or dark carpet, the white-walled hallway looked absolutely sterile. After locking her office, Julia began walking down the long corridor. A few minutes of dull steps later, she was in one of the main hallways. It was much wider, and for good reason: there was more traffic from various personnel. The techs had an office at the end of the hall.

Rando topic that I thought of after flubbing Julia's formspring again and figured that anyone could join if they wanted to explore Saeptum a bit more (or if anyone wants to solve the mystery of the wayward formpsprang). Potential possibilities of entry off the top of my head: random agent, new recruit, random supervisor, established (or un) touring the facility, etc.
