Another thing I'd like to see added; binoculars. It'd make observatories a lot more effective.
Also, I want clouds to not go through my buildings. Outside of them is fine, but it's really annoying when I'm working on my single player version of Sky Sanctuary Zone and clouds fly through my tower and greenhouse.

Actually, until I made the hut on my observatory (the construction of the roof took forever >.<), I had found those to be kinda cool, since on an older file, I had a mountain spa of sorts and the steam was simulated by the clouds.

Actually, my girlfriend and I have a server up and we're pretty open to getting people to join it. Actually, we'd kinda like more people to play on it.
Sadly, we can't keep it up 24/7

Sure. I've got my friend's info so I can get on your server until I get my own account. When are y'all broadcasting?

Should be up later tonight. I don't know when exactly though.

And just to warn you, we're not on the main continent. We have territory there, but we're not on it.
You're more than welcome to set up shop there if you want, or you can leave it and go elsewhere.

No problem. Will check it out. I've got some specific things in mind anyway. Y'all don't play on peaceful...right?
When are your broadcasting hours for the server?

Aren't you busy right now?
Anyways it's usually up by 6 p.m. or so EST, though I could probably ask Yellow Skittle to put it up earlier.
Also, we should have flintlock rifles or pistols. They'd deal more damage and have longer range, but the ammunition would be harder to make (they'd require gunpowder) and if you miss, the shot can't be collected (also, shots don't arc), also, they'd have a slower fire rate.
Why do I propose this? Because I've noticed that some creatures are horrendously hard to kill (heaven help you if you are around multiple ghasts, especially since they're typically out of arrow range).
Another thing; a telescope. I'm pretty sure I've mentioned this before, but called them binoculars. They'd allow you to see distant details (such as what that shadowy monster is), but cost you your peripheral vision.

Nah, I was wondering if y'all had it up between classes, since I was taking a mental rest, but... Oh well. Won't be up for couple days. Lmao, I'd love to see a bolt-action rifle... But yeah, it's hard as hell to guess the distance (thus the required angle) of the ghasts... luckily, at least, they die within a couple shots. A telescope would be VERY useful. I'd love to get one for the exploration platform. Btw, Blood, here, take a look at my map. I know I don't have all that much up (and my biggest things are underground), but... Just thought it'd be cool to share (thanks Cartographer).

I wish I could get a decent picture of the multiplayer server. Sadly, the file is too big.

Btw, arrows deal 2 hearts, ghasts have ten. I'd like guns to deal at least 4 hearts, maybe 5.

The file is too big for what?
Hmm, I remember taking ghasts down in two arrows before...god those things are huge when close by... Oh well.

I'm finally back in Sky Sanctuary Zone! HUZZAH!
Now I'm working on Redstone Dust and learning how to work it.
Also, interestingly enough, no one seems to know how to work cannons on the server I was visiting while I couldn't access my own. I offered to teach an Op, but he was paranoid that he'd get in trouble with the Admin.
I have to say, this makes me feel kinda powerful, but it's pretty much impossible to create legit TNT because it's on peaceful, and I doubt I'm going to get to spawn my own. Especially since someone's house was griefed and I'm new (and they have like 3 or four Ops already >.>)
Also, out of curiosity, how do you all feel about tunnels that are one block wide and two blocks high?

That is what all of my tunnels are.

Some people don't like them on that server and they've apparently made a rule against them, though I never saw it. If I go back on, then I should probably tell someone to post it in the spawn area.

Beta sucks. The only good thing I've seen come out of it is that the names of things are displayed in your inventory when you put the cursor over it. Otherwise it killed some useful bugs and created a bunch of save issues.

did he implement lanterns?

Post by {WW}BetaBloodWolf7 on Dec 22, 2010 8:00:25 GMT -5
No. He implemented lag (for both single and multiplayer), server killers, killers for new servers, killers for people new to a server... basically, he killed it. He killed it with fire, ice, poison, lightning, lead, and poo. He essentially took a big poo on the game and then went away for a couple days. Might still be away, at least there's nothing we can see coming to fix it, and I really don't like that, if he's working on it right now, I'd like to hear it (he's apparently just taken off after an update in the past and didn't do anything about it for awhile. He also promised to make an update and didn't do anything for about a month afterwords)
People used to argue that he was updating it for free, but now that's not quite so true. Now people are paying more and it's part of his job to work on the game.
Items are now labeled, armor is now visible in multiplayer and there's something else I'm forgetting, but for the most part what he did broke the game. Servers are crumbling for people, a lot of people are getting horrible lag, some saves were wiped out and overwritten... overall, he rushed what he did and essentially killed the game.

I'm a SpamBot and double post. It happens.
Updated Client and Server to Beta 1.1
The server update isn’t mandatory, but it’s HIGHLY recommended
* Rewrote Leaf Decay for the seventeenth time, and as a result.. * .. fixed HUGE fps drops in single player * .. fixed players getting spammed with data and getting disconnected in SMP * .. felt like a sexy programming god * Fixed the item dupe bug in SMP
So, I've been corrected. He did something, and now I'm thankful. Won't be able to have my server updated for awhile, and I hope it doesn't try to kill it again.
Also, it better work. Or else. Or else I don't know, but or else.

I love it when people go "HE BROKE THE BETA FOREVER OH MY GOD WORST MAN ALIVE I CAN'T BELIEVE I SHELLED OUT $10 FOR THIS 'GAME' oh hey he updated a pretty bad bug man fuck I still hate Notch for being a piece of shit."
You paid to be an alpha tester/beta tester, not a casual player. Part of the contract is that you'll have to put up with buggy releases so that you can tell Notch about the shit so he can fix it. If you wanted a full game, you should've waited until the full version came out, or at least a late beta.
