Here, millions of people live on three gigantic islands, ruled by one man who's only desire is to reach beyond The Walls Of Gale, and conqure the world beyond.
The three islands are connected by three bridges, the Red Bridge, the White Bridge, and the Gray Bridge. In the center of these bridges lies the Green Sea, the only water that is safe to sail on, for outside the bridges lies a wall of hurricanes which no one can penetrate. Each bridge is so massive that a town lies at the center of the bridge for travelers to rest and trade at.
The Three Islands, Taer, Judas, and Suffuis, are all ruled by Emperor Deiz. Deiz, five hundred years ago, formed a pact with the Lord Of Darkness, Thorzac, who, in return for his everlasting loyalty, gave Deiz immortality and incredable power. Deiz used his power to overthrow the Three Kingdoms, and formed his empire, which he has ruled with an iron fist for five hundred years.
Many have sought to overthrow the Emperor, and many still do, as the Emperor relies mostly on soldiers, and seems loath to leave the Imperial Palace exept in dire emergencys.
In the five hundred years of his rein, Deiz has encouraged scientific exploration and magical exploration, to a bit of an exessive point. Many who don't come up with idea's quickly enough end their lives mounted on his castle walls, as a warning to to others. But as a result, firearms, cars, trucks, unusual devices, aircraft, trains, and all manner of technoledgys infect the planet. Still, magic is strong in the land, and many a magician can easily render such toys useless.
After many struggles, and much hardship however, many of the factions have come togeather to form the Overthrown, a group whose soul purpose is to overthrow Deiz, and kill all his followers. They've become powerful enough for people to believe in, and many begin to throw their lot in with the Overthrown. Deiz has begun to conscript many people, gathering an army to protect him and his castle, and its only a matter of time until things erupt into civil war.
Chose your own path, their is no destiny to guide you.
OOC: Alright people, new string. No old characters here, you bring in all new characters for this thread. Everyone has an equal power level, as in, you all start at the bottom and work your way to the top. No killing other character, you can work with whomever you like, or no one at all. Btw, lots of magical creatures, so if you want a pet, go right ahead. (Dragons included, but limit yourselves until your really are powerful eh?) Also, I'll be adding a map later, with towns and citys and such for everyones benefit.
BIC: Inochi yawned and pulled himself out of bed, throwing a look at the window. Looked like it was going to be another hot day, great. 'Another hot, sunny day, under the rule of Emperor Deiz, who's soldiers only let us sleep because we work better if we have', he thougt. He heard steps echoing down the hall outside his room, cell might actually be a better word, and then the door opened. "Alright, get moving kid. Lots more work to do today." Inochi nodded to the soldier, and slouched out of the room. Walking briskly down the hall with the rest of the workers, he soon reached the castle square, in which quite a few people were still trying to haul up great stone blocks to build walls for a new barracks.
OOC: Just so I'm clear, this is like western tech. Six shooter hand-guns, rifles, maybe some super artifact tech now and again, but the cares are crappy and break down a lot, and trains, horses, and boats are the only reliable means of transportation.
BIC: He took stock of everything around him, and then walked over the the pit just beyond the wall. Climbing down into it, he began digging again, trying to take out all of his anger on the dirt below him, because he knew if he tried to take it out on the guards, they'd simply kill him.
Several more hours passed this way, until the sun rose high above them, sitting right at the center of the sky. The great blue sun that had changed from orange in the last century, so that everything was now cast into a blue shadow. Inochi climbed out of the massive hole to get some water, and thats when it happened. A massive explosion went off at the other end of the castle, and the guards rushed off to find out what it was. After they'd all gone, roped men cut through the barred fences surrounding the work zone, and started hustling the workers through it.
Inochi rushed over to one of those men, "What's going on?", the man gave him an appraising look, then answered gruffly, "Overthrown has set you free, for now we'll take all of you back to one of our bolt holes, and from these you can do whatever you like." Inochi looked at the man in frank surprise, but overcame his brief shock and stepped out of the workyard, following the men that were now leading the workers away.
Several days passed, as they wandered through the forests off to the side of Deiz's royal city, and near the end of their trek, some of the weaker men and women had died. Each time, some of the robed men stayed behind to burn the bodies, "To make sure the empire can't follow us," they'd said. Inochi still thought they could've done better, and given them decent burials. But he wasn't about to protest, they could leave him to tend to himself, or burn him so the empire couldn't follow them...
After several more hours, they all filed into a dark caves, and fumbled around for a while before coming to a larger chamber. Once there, one of the men flicked on the lights, and another said, "Welcome to the Den Of Refuge. Its the only place any of us feel safe anymore." Many of the other workers began to make themselves comfortable, as the hooded men started passing out food and water rations. As they did so, the hooded man who had spoken last continued to speak. "We are the Overthrown, or those who have been thown from our rightful heratige and land rights because of our Emperor. Our only aspiration, for the moment, is to kill Deiz. I don't know what the future will bring after that, but we must fight. And before you leave, we ask that you consider fighting as well. You've seen what the Empire has done to your lives, and only the very rich live in a semblance of comfort, though even then it's only a fleeting illusion, torn down at the Emperors whim." He paused, and looked around at the gathered workers before continuing. Inochi didn't stick around to find out, he knew when cannon fodder was being recruited, and he didn't intend to get killed. Sneaking back up to the enterance, he spotted two guards, stone drunk already it looked like, with there swords about 5 feet from them. Inochi grinned, walked up to the guards, and swiftly knocked both of them out. Taking the second guards boots, pants, and chain mail, seeing as they fit better. As well as strapping both the swords around his waist. He took both of the guards rations, tied them into a bundle, and tied the bundle to his newly aquired sword belt.
Giving the guards underwear a disguisted look, he grabbed the bottle of booze they'd been passing between eachother, and took a swig, before heading out into the forest.
It seems he'd been granted a second chance in life. And he was going to use it to take Deiz's head. __________________ "Where Dragoons meet, blood will flow, when they leave, time does slow."

His limbs were covered in scratches and cuts but he was alive, that was the main thing. He hadn't made it out along with the rest of the workers. Luckily he was nimble and had managed to evade the guards long enough to make an exit on his own. A few days had passed since his escape, he had spent those days hiding from the guard units sent to recover the escaped workers. They never seemed to find any but they always came back to look again. Kami decided it was time to leave the area he was in, it was too close to the royal city. He watched as the last of the guards stopped searching and headed back toward the city. He stood up and pushed the branches of the bush away. As he stepped out on to the grass he noticed the state of his clothes. They were nothing more than rags now, his time spent hiding hadn't done them any favors.
"I need some new clothes badly." He though looking down at the tattered clothes. "The chance to have a wash would be nice too." As quick as a flash Kami dived behind the bush as the thunderous sound of horses hooves got closer and closer. One of the guards had returned on horse back. Kami watched as the guard dismounted and began looking around.
Kami moved some branches apart just a fraction so he could get a better view. "He must have lost something." He continued watching as the guard moved further and further from his horse. The young escapee moved back a little as the guard moved even further away. As he did something almost threatened to topple him. He looked down, on the ground behind him was a large club like branch. Without hesitation Kami picked up the club and began moving from hiding place to hiding place, stalking the guard. As the guard bent down to pick something up Kami sprung forward, he swung the club with all his might bringing it down hard on the guards head. A sickening crunch signaled the end of the guards life. Kami dragged the guard into a thick patch of foliage, hoping that nobody would notice him for at least a couple of days. Having disposed of the body he returned to the place where he had taken the guards life. Lying on the grass was a large gold coin, Kami smiled, this was most fortunate. With the money he would be able to buy food and possibly a sword. The coin was worth a lot, most people traded goods but actual money could get you a lot more. He went back to the guards body and took his heavy boots, his own boots were full of holes and had large chunks missing. The boots were a little large but they were comfy. Kami thought about taking the guards clothes but he didn't want to hang around any longer if he could avoid it, as he pondered his next action he remembered the guards horse.
"Perfect." He thought with a grin. He ran to the side of the horse, it wasn't tied to anything, it didn't need to be Deiz made sure animals used by his guardsmen were strictly trained. Kami mounted the horse and set of at a fair pace, the further he was away from the royal city and the quicker he could get there the better.

Bishies! YAY! Posts: 1,354 iTrader: (0) Default Sachio gazed around the enclosed clearing where he had made his make-shift camp. The guards had failed to notice him slip away from the main group on their journey, along with his few provisions and his father's blunt dagger, which rested in his hand. The pick lay by his side, ready to be used if necessary. A few apples from the forest and the last of his food from the work camp were in front of him, divided into groups. Sachio gazed at the small scraps on the far left, counting down the seconds, waiting for the time... Suddenly, he grabbed the food and started eating at a ferocious pace. He hadn't eaten since escaping, and was starving. The remaining food would be used through the coming hours, days, months or however long faced him. When he ran out, he would go back into the forest to forage for more.
Finishing the last piece of stale bread crust, the worker stood and wandered around the clearing, examining all possible directions someone could find him from. Judging by the sun's position, the guards would most likely come from the left: the direction of the camp. A few more clearings lay that way, providing him with sufficient warning as the guards would be clearly seen. The only other exit was in the direction of the heart of the forest, near where he had found the apples. No one would come from there, why would anyone bother coming from that direction? Not someone who was searching for escapees, that was for sure. Settling down by the food once more, Sachio sighed and began counting down the hours once more. Only another day to go before he could eat again.
Suddenly, the worker heard a twig snap behind him. Leaping to his feet, he grabbed the pick and held both his weapons firmly in his hands. A startled young man stood there, dressed like the guards. He had a sword hanging loosely at his side, but he was obviously slightly too stunned to use it. Without any further hesitation, Sachio swung the pick and the dagger at the same time, hitting the guard poorly but sufficiently over the head. He fell, his skull exposed to the skies bleeding profusely. The escapee smiled, and strapped the sword to his own side. Searching the guard's pack, he found some fresh bread and water, and a few medical supplies. Stuffing these into his makeshift backpack his mother had made for him as a child, he picked up his own supplies and set off towards the middle of the forest again. This was the direction the others had taken, and hopefully he'd find some help. All he wanted to do was live, even if it was only for a little longer. __________________ Soon to come! Posts: 1,405 iTrader: (0) Default Dedjik followed the others as they were being led to their "freedom" by the Overthrown. He was just another worker, who had also encountered the robed men. He hated the forced labor, so, after being liberated, he was already starting to like these people. However, that opinion changed over the next few days. He watched as the dead were unceremoniously burned en masse for simple security reasons.
What really got him was their attempt to recruit him in the cave. Just because they had given him freedom didn't mean they could take it away. He knew where this would go: poor training for a few weeks, then get sent into battle, most likely as a distraction, probably like what happened back at the camp. He snuck out of the chamber and into one of the rooms.
Oh happy day, it was the armory. The entire place was full of weaponry of all sorts. Dedjik looked at what lay around him. He picked up a six-shooter revolver. It was like fate had led him to the gun. It was exactly weighted for him, and fit his grip perfectly. He smiled, then grabbed a belt filled with bullets and a holster on it. He grabbed a couple more belts and arranged them in an X pattern across his chest. Hopefully he wouldn't use them all...
The ex-worker looked for some sort of defensive thing. He wasn't looking for something heavy, just something to keep himself a little safe. He saw a set of plate armor. Dedjik took the arm of it and tried it on. It was made of at least ten plates, each of which moved fairly well with his arm. He kept it and looked for another weapon.
Dedjik found a two regular swords hanging on the wall. He picked them up, then swung them a few times. They felt good. put them in their scabbards and slung them onto his back in another X. The amount of weaponry he had was getting heavy, and if he hadn't been doing manual labor since he was a child, he wouldn't have been able to carry it all. He stepped out of the armory's second door.
Light. It hurt his eyes to walk out of the dark cave and into the bright outside. As his eyes adjusted, he noticed one of the cloaked "liberators" smoking. He crept up behind him then hit his head with the hilt of one of his swords. Dedjik took the man's cloak and put it on underneathe his swords. He then walked out into the forest, finally a free man.

He started keeping an eye out for a town, he'd heard there was a costal town nearby, and he certainly could see the coast. He needed to pick up a few things, his chain mail would serve, but the swords he'd aquired were little more than metal cutouts with sharpened edges. He could also use a few pieces of armor, seeing as he saw a lot of combat in his future. Making a beeline for the coast, he managed to spot a ship sailing in, smiling, he headed in that direction. Once in town, which was apperantly called Helios, he took a quick look around. It was obviously a trading town, people were bustling around everywhere. And it all seemed to be growing out from a central square. He made his way into the square, and looked around, asking for a black smith. An elderly woman pointed him towards the edge of town, and a few minutes later he found the blacksmiths forge. Smiling, he checked the house over thuroughly, the blacksmith wasn't home, and the smithy was silent. He asked a passing man if he knew where the blacksmith was, "Uhhh, I think he traveled into the Royal City, to meet with a noble who wanted some mechine parts crafted. So unless he's had a change of plans, I doubt he'll be back for a few days," Inochi thanked the man, and walked around the back of the smithy, scaling the wells and dropping in through the roof. "Well, its been a while since I was in a smithy with my father, but it'll all come back," he said. Laying his things down in the corner, he went to the wall and dragged a 50 pound anvil over to the side of the kelm. He then took the door out to the back of the fenced in smithy, and dragged in a full barrel of water, as well as two bags of slow and fast burning coals. Thorwing the fast burning coals in, he lit them with flint, and stroaked the fire, watching the coals burn into a vertical pyre of flame, then he threw the slow burning coals in. The fire would burn at the appropriate temperature for hours. He grabbed his two swords, and checked them over. "Crap," he vocalised rather loudly, "Stupid Overthrown m***ns can't even buy proper equiptment. These things are steel, but its so low grade as to be of no use to anyone. I wouldn't even use this for a belt clip!" He threw the swords aside, which landed with a dull clanging noise, and proceeded to look around for some iron ore. Which didn't take long to find, half a wall was stacked with it, and the other half was piled high with carbon dust in small packs. He also found several bars of titainium, which is nutoriously hard to work, because of the heat required to melt such a metal. He took another look around the room, attempting to acertain why a blacksmith would have titainium, and saw something rather interesting beside the kelm. It was labeled very interestingly, 'Chemical Heater'. He walked over to it, and read the lable on the side. It seemed as though that it would burn at a temperature high enough to melt titainium for a short period of time, allowing for jewelry crafting, or pouring straight-out molds. Chuckling to himself, he looked around and located the supply cabinate, in which he located several more packs of chemical fuel. Dragging them out, he set them beside the chemical burner, then reached into the bottom of his water barrel for clay. Molding the clay into a hollow, he formed a chest plate, then another, and an 8 piece back plate, as well as shin and thigh plates. He also added a blue powder to the chemical mixture, so all his pieces of armor would have a blue sheen. Then four interlocking plates for his stomach, and set them aside to dry. Turning his attention back to the iron ore, and carbon. He pulled out a large high temp bowl, and shoved enough iron in to form a 5' 1/2' foot long sword, as well as a small amount of carbon, about 4 percent of the entire mixture. He then set it in the kelm, and waited for the iron and carbon to melt and mix. About a half hour later, after pouring the titainium into all his moulds, he went over to the kelm and checked on the mixture. It'd mixed togeather nicely, so he poured it into a five foot long bar, and let it cool for a few minutes. He then went to the wall and pulled down a hammer, and a pair of tongs. The next several hours were spend hammering the blade into folding, over and over again, thus increasing the strength and density of the blade. He also pounded out a handle, and guard. This done, he heated and tempered the blade in the water several time's, then set it aside to finish cooling to the core. He also used the tongs to drop each of the titainium pieces into the barrel, then reached in, pulled the clay off, and put them on the table. He looked around, and located what he needed. "D***, I can't believe this smithy is so well stocked." Taking a rolled up piece of leather from the wall, he glued togeather several thick pads, and ficed them to the back of each piece of armor, by boring holes through them, and making several complex nots with leather string. Afterwards, he strung thicker leather through the holes, and fixed on metal buckles for the leg armor. The chest plate he wove togeather with the stomach plates, and back plates, and slipped on over his chain mail. He then belted the leg armor on, and crossed the room to where his new sword lay. He carfully wrapped the hilt in black leather, and held the sword up lengthwise in front of him. "You are a worthy blade, and I hope you will please my fathers spirit. I name you Zenmetsu Saseru, and hope that you will bring peace to my familys spirits, and the familys of many others as well. With that, he walked out the front door. Several people gave him an odd look, and rushed off to tell the guards. But he didn't care, he was Inochi Shi Soyokaze, and with Zenmetsu Saseru, he would have his revenge. OOC: For those of you who don't speak japanese, Zenmetsu Saseru means annihilate, but for the purposes of the swords name, its 'The Annihilator'. And my characters name means, Life Death Breath. Oh, and here's a link to an image of Inochi's sword. img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...etsuSaseru.jpg__________________ "Where Dragoons meet, blood will flow, when they leave, time does slow." "The poor beast must be tired." Kami thought to himself, he patted the beast and pulled on it's reins bringing the animal to a halt. "I guess we'll have to rest now, it's been a long day, we can head for the village tomorrow." Climbing down from the horse he looked around. The area wasn't very well shaded and there was nowhere to seek shelter if it should rain. He mounted the horse again and urged her forward. They'd have to find an area with better shelter before they could stop. The horse galloped along wearily while Kami scanned the passing countryside for a potential resting place. It seemed they would have to head for the village afterall, the area they were traveling in just wasn't suitable for resting not even for one night. It took them around two hours to eventually reach the nearest village, the horse was incredibly tired by this point. Kami dismounted and led the horse through the center of the village, he was sure they could find a place to sleep. What he ended up finding wasn't exactly what he'd had in mind. A shed used for storage behind the busy market place. He tied the horses reins to a random iron bar that protruded from the wall behind the shed and attempted to open the door. It was locked but not very well, a flimsy sliding bolt was all that held it in place. A few minutes of shaking the door and the bolt came loose. Kami smiled, a job well done and the shed didn't look all that bad either. Luckily for him this particular storage unit housed fabric, rolls of pure silk and other fine cloths adorned the walls and floor of the shed. He climbed inside and shut the door, he'd finally get some sleep. He only hoped that nobody would need anything from the shed before he woke up. His father had been a cartographer and explorer, and he would often tell Dedjik of his last adventures, as well as showing him maps that had been recently drawn. Because of this, Dedjik had a fairly good sense of direction and were everything generally was, as well as knowing any dangers he should avoid, or good people to visit. If memory served him, the nearest town would be Helios, a shore town. The nearest coast was to the west, so he went that way. He would have to stay clear of the hills just to the south of his path; there were rumors of a lone half-cyclops that attacked travelers. Surprisingly, Dedjik heard something rustling in the bushes. He instinctively pulled out his gun. Earlier he had loaded it, so he pulled back the hammer and pointed the gun at the bush. A few second later, he saw a rabit emerge. He was suddenly reminded that he hadn't eaten since he left the cave, because he had snuck out before the rations were handed out. He slowly and sloppily shot three bullets at the rabbit, the first two missing, and the last piercing the animal's leg. It squealed, then died. Dedjik took out a blunt knife and skinned the rabbit, then made a fire to cook it. After enjoying his rabbit meal, Dedjik buried any evidence of his presence, then continued to walk westward. Hours later, he could see the town down the cleared path. It was dark out by the time he reached the town's border, so he looked for a place to stay. As he walked closer to the town center a man stopped him and held out a gun. "Gimme all ye got, or else me and my little friend are gonna have a werd wit yeh," the robber threatened. Dedjik slowly put his hands up, and the theif approached, gun still pointed. When the thief tried to find Dedjik's wallet, he put the gun down, which was a mistake. Dedjik brought both his elbows down hard on the man's shoulders, pushed him down, then took out one of his swords and hit the man's head with the broad side of the blade to render him unconscious. He searched the thief's pockets and found several gold coins. That would be helpful later. Dedjik sheathed his sword, then continued to the town square... hopefully he'd find a place to stay.... __________________ "The ability to quote is a serviceable substitute for wit."-W. The rather unfortunate place was tattered, and though the people inside were cheerful and roudy, the place itself was dismal. But the main part, the thing he'd been looking for, while avoiding the town guards, was the cage. There was a large cage in the center of the inn, where the fights went on continuously, any takers, and weapons. The town guard was suppost to stop things like this, but they probably each got a percentage to leave the tavern alone. He walked over to the bar-keep, "The cage, how much money for a fight?", he asked. The bar-keep looked up from his glass for a moment, then continues cleaning it while speaking in a dull monotone, "Your payed in copper, silver, or gold. Different rules for each of the money types. Copper, you fight hand to hand, no armor and no one dies. Silver you can use whatever you want, and you stop before you kill your opponent. Gold, you fight until your dead, and the inn keeps whatever you had if you die. 100 coppers for a normal fight, 50 silvers for a no rules, knock out type fight. 100 Gold Pieces for a fight to the death," he finished. Inochi nodded, "I'll fight to the death, for ten rounds," the bar-keep looked up in surprise, then called a man over and told him the details. The man nodded and said, "This way please." Fifteen minutes later, he was in the cage, with a screaming crowd all around him, and a man called Orik in front of him. The guy was completely covered in plate-mail armor, head to toes. He also had one of the largest axes Inochi thought he'd ever seen. The bell rang, and the guy swung his axe right down at Inochi's head. He side stepped without even drawing his sword, and kicked the guy in his helmeted head. It made a satisfying clanging noise. Orik ripped his sword out of the ground and swung crosswise at Inochi's waist, which didn't connect due to the fact that Inochi jumped over it. Quickly stepping in, Inochi put his face up to the slits in the helmet, "Die," he said, and brought all 60 pounds of his massive sword down on the man's head, shearing through his armor and cutting him in two down to his waist. The crowd around him cheered themselves hoarse, as Inochi pulled his sword free, 2 men stepped into the ring to retreave the body. After it was gone, a man stepped up to him and said, "Try to keep their armor intact eh?", before stepping out of the cage. It was a good hour later before they could find another challenger, some noble called Damien Ross. Damien stepped into the ring looking determined, though a bit scared. Inochi quailed at the thought of killing the man, he looked little older than Inochi himself, who'd barely turned sixteen when he'd been broken out of the slave camp. Inochi stepped forward, towards the kid. He drew his sword, which was all he had on him, and pointed it straight at Inochi's throat. Just then the doors burst open, and what looked like half an army broke in. Damien looked around, his eye's wide. "Damien, damnit, I told you not to come here! Men, kill the scoundrel in the cage and retreave Damien!", as man from the door barked. 'Oh great,' Inochi thought, 'Just my luck, a family squabble.' The first man who reached him was cleaved neatly in two, as Inochi darted around him, heading for the door. The noble who had ordered the men stood there, looking quite large and solid in chased silver armor, two longswords hung across his back. He drew them both, and took up a ready stance between Inochi and the exit. Scowling, Inochi brought his sword down on the man, who blocked it with cross swords and was pushed out of the door from the force of the blow. Out on the street a crowd started to form, several people started calling out Grimstor, in very loud and exited voices. Grimstor grinned across his blades at Inochi, "Well boy, it seems you've got yourself in a bit of a fix. I am the Lord Captain of the Doom Knights, of the Royal Empires army, you cannot hope to beat me!", the crowd roared. It seemed blood sport was rather popular in this town. Inochi sniffed, and lifted his sword into a ready position, waiting for Grimstor to move. They stood there staring at eachother for a long time, then Grimstor moved. He came straight at Inochi, slashing from opposing directions with his swords. Inochi backstepped, and ducked, preforming a roll over to Grimstors left, and stabed his sword straight out as Grimstor, who's life was saved by his armor, which deflected the blow, but took a large dent in the process. He looked surprised for a moment, then came straight at Inochi, one sword following the other. Inochi parried two blows, then stepped to the side and smashed his sword into the ground, creating a five foot long gash. Grimstor stepped over it, and swung at Inochi's head, which he blocked with the back of his blade as he pulled it up, then shouldered his whole massive blade forwards, pushing Grimstor back. His foot got caught in the gash, and he fell over backwards. Lifting his sword up, point down, he drove it into Grimstors chest, silencing him forever. The crowd went very silent. Inochi bent down over the body, untied the man's money pouch, which contained a hefty amount, and went back into the tavern. He sat in the corner drinking for about a half hour, before a man approached him. "He, I'm Drijn," he said, shaking Inochi's hand. "Look, I know you got a hefty amount off of that noble outside, and I'd like to suggest something to you. Two things actually," Inochi waited silently, and taking his silence for assent, the man continued. "First of all, in the center of town is a tower, a mage lives inside it. He's a bit hard up at the moment, so he's been enchanting items more cheaply than mages usually do, also if you pay him a rather larger amount, he'll teach you the fundamentals of Red Magic," Inochi nodded, thinking he might pay the man a visit. Drajn continued, "And second, I suggest you get out of town as quickly as you can. The royal guards have likely been summoned from the city, and while the local guard may not be a match for you, they certainly will be," Inochi nodded, and thanked the man, passing him a gold coin. In truth, the man's money bag had contained 3,557 small gold coins, quite enough for anyone to get by on. He knocked on the tower door, in the center of the town as Drajn had said. It opened, and a man stuck his head through it. He blinked twice, rather owlishly, and asked, "Look, unless you have money, please go away, I'm rather buisy," Inochi raised his eyebrow, and shook his money pouch. The man's eye's widened, and he opened the door, quickly ushering Inochi in. I assume since your here, you want one of my services," he began, "So, before you say anything, I'm going to tell you the price of my services, and the extent of my abilitys. First off, for enchanting items, I can only enchant an item with one spell, and one spell only. And it will cost you five hundred gold pieces per item. And secondly, if you want to learn magic, it will cost you 2,000 gold pieces to learn the basics of Red Magic," Inochi nodded. "I want a gravity spell each on the sword and the armor, and I will also be paying for the basic training," he said. The magician nodded, "Money is up front, I don't like being scammed," Inochi sighed, and handed over the money. That left him with 557 gold pieces, which would be quite enough to get on with for the moment. The magician, who was apperantly called Kit, took him into a room covered in book shelves, which were covered with books. He took two books off the wall, and gave them to Inochi. He instructed Inochi to read them, then took his sword and armor, and went into another room. Four hours later, Inochi has finished reading the books, and Kit came back in to check on him. "Done? Good," he said, "Step into the center of the room, yes there, and focus on blackness in your mind. You should be able to remember all the spells from those books, as magic spells cannot be forgotten after they've been read. Now, as you focus on the blackness, prepare for a shock," Inochi prepared for his shock, and suddenly his mind was forced open to all the terrible wonder's of the magical world. He recoiled, and closed his mind. "Good, I take it you felt that. Now, you'll be able to find your way there again, exept next time, just use a smaller door. Do it now, and cast the Blizzard spell," he said. Inochi searched, and found the opening. Forcing it wider, he envisioned the blizzard spell in its entirity, and watched as the magic lit it up, and watched it fly from his palm, and hit the floor. A 20 foot circle of ice resulted, as well as having his boots frozen to the floor. He fell over, and tried in vein to pull his boots off. Kit roared with laughter, "Stay there, hehehahaha, I'll be back in a few hours with your weapon and armor. The ice should melt by then," he grinned, and walked out of the room. Inochi sat grumbling for a second, and opened his mind to the magic again, this time casting a fire spell. The ive melted around his boots, but much of the circle was still frozen. As he walked out of the room, and followed the loud bangs the mage was making, he felt something begin to inform him how strong he was, and how many more of each spell he could cast. He smiled, they could all come in handy in a sticky situation. He stepped into the room, where the mage seemed to be casting some kind of spell. Thinking it best not to disturb the man, he walked into the hallway, and went back into the library. Lying down on the floor, he decided to take a nap. __________________ "Where Dragoons meet, blood will flow, when they leave, time does slow." You are free to break the chains of fate that bind you. My real name is Damien by the way, though my last name isn't Ross lol Kami was forced awake from his deep slumber, it sounded like there was a bit of crowd gathered outside. Startled and still half asleep he got up and slowly opened the shed door. The crowd could be heard just around the corner, Kami decided to make a hasty exit before any of them ventured into the area he was in. He untied the horses reins and pulled himself up on to it's back. He gave the reins a quick flick which let the horse know that he wanted it to move forward. As Kami and the horse trotted around the corner several people from the crowd looked at him but most took no notice. "Excuse me." He called out to nobody in particular. "Why are you all gathered here?" "You haven't heard?" A man said turning around, he was short with dark hair and piercing blue eyes. "Heard what?" Kami replied jumping down from his horse. "A man entered the cage fighting at the Inn, he was quite incredible, he almost cut a man clean in half. Then he ended up fighting and killing Grimstor......" The man was cut off before he could finish. "Where can I find this guy?" Kami asked, curiosity getting the better of him. He guessed by the commotion the man had caused that he wasn't local. Kami wondered if it might be another escapee, it was a long shot but he wanted to be sure. "I saw him go into the tower belonging to Kit the wizard, quite a few hours ago. I don't know if he'll still be there." The man said pointing Kami in the general direction of the wizards tower. "Thank you." Kami said before mounting his horse again. He decided to check out the tower, it was possible that the man could still be there. A gentle kick and the horse was off, running full speed toward the tower. Kami could see the tower from about half a mile away. It stood high above most of the towns other buildings. When he reached the tower he jumped off the horse and tied it up before knocking hard on the large wooden door. He waited several minutes but nobody answered, he decided to take a chance and go in any way. He twisted the handle and pushed gently, the door opened easily revealing a large staircase. Kami began climbing the stairs, it wasn't look before he reached a second door. Again he twisted the handle and opened the door slowly. The first thing Kami noticed was a large ring of ice on the floor, it had clearly been there for a while as the floor was soaked with water. Kami stepped in to the room, looking around for any signs of life in his haste he failed to notice Inochi sleeping by the window however. Assuming that nobody was around, he decided to check any other rooms, there had to be someone in the huge tower. As he moved closer to one of the other room doors he could clearly hear loud banging. He opened the door to find an old man who appeared to be casting a spell of some sort. Upon noticing Kami however the wizard looked shocked and turned a glowing hand to the young man. "Who the blazes are you and what do you think you are doing in my tower?" Kit asked waving his hand about like a crazy person. "My name is Kami I'm sorry for my intrusion, I knocked but nobody answered. I've come here in search of a man, I have no description of him I just know that he visited here a few hours ago." "Your intrusion will be forgiven this time, it would be a terrible mistake to enter in to my home without permission a second time. I do know who you speak of, he is a young man named Inochi, he came seeking magic training and enchantment for his armour and sword. He should be in the library, now please leave, this particular spell takes a great ammount of concentration." Kit said turning back to the armour laid across the table in front of him. Kami simply nodded and backed out of the room, closing the door quietly as he left. He returned to the first room he had entered and spotted Inochi asleep on the floor. "How did I not notice him before?" Kami pondered, he decided to be more observant and less hasty in the future. He started moving toward the young man before deciding against it, Inochi might not appreciate being woken up. Kami chose instead to wait, he grabbed one of the many books in the library and sat down. The book was titled 'Mythical Creatures'. "Interesting." Kami thought as he opened the book and began to read. OOC: Yeah kind of strange lol just wanted a decent sized post and a way for our characters to meet. __________________ λѕ wє wїиd ои đоwn тнё яоаd оur ѕђаđоωѕ таllэя тhаи our ѕόuls. тђєяє ώаlkѕ а lаdу wє all kиоω whо šніneѕ ώђітё Ііgнт аиd wаитѕ то ѕђоω hоώ єνєяутhіиg stіll тuяиѕ то gŏlđ. λnd іf yоu lїѕтёй νέяу ђаяd тне тuńę ŵill сомє то уоu ат lλst. ωђёй аll аяё ойє аnđ оnє iѕ аll то βе а яосk аиđ nот тō яоlє. He didn't look particularly harmless, though he didn't have any weapons on him. Inochi silently berated himself for not checking of the wizards front door was locked, and wondered what to do about the man. He wasn't causing Inochi any harm, and if he'd wanted to, he could've killed him. Inochi shrugged, and pretended to wake up, just as Kit walked back into the room carrying his sword and armor. "Ah, your awake," Kit said, the strange man looked around. "You've finished the enchantments?", Inochi asked. The wizard nodded, and handed over Inochi's things. He quickly sliped them on, and the wizard commented, "That's one mighty sword you have there, and with that enchantment its all the mightier," Kit looked Inochi over for a second, "I hope it doesn't bring evil to the land." Inochi nodded, "That I would hope as well," he turned towards the stranger, "Now, who are you, and what are you doing here?", Kit broke in, "He came here looking for you, though I have no idea why." Inochi nodded, and kept his eye's on the stranger. __________________ "Where Dragoons meet, blood will flow, when they leave, time does slow." You are free to break the chains of fate that bind you. "I wondered if your situation might have been similar." Kami didn't really need an answer he could tell by the mans build and the state of the skin on his hands that many years of his life had been spent doing hard labour. The kind of hard labour he had been forced to do during his time in the city. Diez was never the kind of ruler who cared for the health of his workers, it wasn't uncommon to see a fellow labourer faint on the spot or even drop dead. __________________ λѕ wє wїиd ои đоwn тнё яоаd оur ѕђаđоωѕ таllэя тhаи our ѕόuls. тђєяє ώаlkѕ а lаdу wє all kиоω whо šніneѕ ώђітё Ііgнт аиd wаитѕ то ѕђоω hоώ єνєяутhіиg stіll тuяиѕ то gŏlđ. λnd іf yоu lїѕтёй νέяу ђаяd тне тuńę ŵill сомє то уоu ат lλst. ωђёй аll аяё ойє аnđ оnє iѕ аll то βе а яосk аиđ nот тō яоlє. Posts: 1,405 iTrader: (0) Default As Dedjik neared the town square, he heard the sounds of a large ccrowd, and he could almost make out the sounds of metal clashing on metal. He ran forward to see what was going on, to see a large man and smaller boy, maybe only a few years younger than himself, with a big sword fighting. He watched the boy destroy the bigger man, then walk to another house. Dedjik decided against following him, since the boy looked dangerous, and he wasn't that great of a fighter with swords. Plus, the boy's sword looked like it was actually crafted well compared to the flimsy pieces of steel on his back. He went into the tavern, and saw the arena. Perhaps he could quickly train himself, while getting a bit of gold in the process. He asked the barman how it worked, then decided to enter a Gold fight. Dedjik entered the arena and saw his opponent. It was some person completely decked out in thick armor, holding a long spear. Someone yelled "Begin!" and his opponent wasted no time in raising up his spear and trying to bring it down hard on Dedjik's head. The boy moved to the side, and the spear hit the ground with a metalic ring. Dedjik promptly stepped on the spear, holding it down. He pulled out his gun and shot the shot the shaft, the force from this range easily snapping the wood in two. His opponent droped the spear and pulled out a short sword and rushed forward, this time slicing horizontally at the boy. Dedjik jumped back, then brought out his own swords and struck at the man. THe attack did absolutely nothing except for break the sword. Dedjik cursed aloud, then threw away that sword. He took out his other and tried to stab his opponent in a joint, but he moved, and the sword hit armor, and it too bent. The boy jumped back, and as he did so, his opponent tried to slice him again. This time, he put up his left arm and blocked the sword with the armor plates. He then put the barrel of his gun inside the slit in his opponent's helmet and pulled the trigger. A loud bang resounded, and the man flew back and hit the ground, dead. The crowd cheered, and Dedjik collected his money. That would make a grand total of 2132 gold coins collected tonight. He was suprirsed at how much money the thief had on him. He must have attacked more than one or two rich travellers on the way in. Because he was weapon-less, save for his revolver, he decided he would visit the boy with the big sword to see where he had his sword forged. If it was nearby, he could easily find his way. Dedjik found the house the boy entered and knocked. A mage answered the door and asked who it was. "Sorry to disturb you sir, but I was hoping to find a young man who came in here earlier. He had a big sword with him." "What is this, a party? Yes yes, he's here. In fact, I just finished putting an enchantment on that sword of his. Come in, I guess." "Thank you sir," Dedjik replied. He entered to find two other people inside. To the mage, he spoke again, "You say you do charms?" "Yes." Dedjik asked the mage if he could put an Accuracy spell on it. The mage said yes, and said his rates. Dedjik payed him the gold, and gave him the revolver. "Hello," he said to the others. "My name's Dedjik. Can I ask where you got that fine sword?" he said to the boy with the sword. OOC: Gotta go .... BIC: Inochi looked around, at the man who'd spoken. "Uhhh, hello Dedjik, I'm Inochi, and the sword that I have here was forged by me, in the smithy close to the edge of town," he said, wondering why the hell people kept coming to look for him. "Oh, I see. Well in that case, would you mind if I asked you to forge a sword for me? I have some very specific idea's actually, if you wouldn't mind hearing them. I could pay you," Dedjik said. Inochi nodded, "I can make your sword, or anything else you require, as for payment, I ask that you accompany me north, across the White Bridge. Its never good to travel alone in those parts, things just seem to spring up from no-where," Dedjik gave Inochi a shrewd look, the thought, 'Ah, what the hell. Anywhere far away from Deiz is good with me,' "Alright Inochi, I'll go north with you. As for the sword, I have some very specific idea's, which I will tell you on the way to the smithy," OOC: Ummmm, hope you don't mind Pikachu, but I'm going to auto your character so he comes to the smithy with us. BIC: Kami broke in with, "I think I'll go with you, I have no love for Deiz, and I could use some weaponry myself." Inochi nodded, and headed out the door, the other two men following him, "Hey," Dedjik called over his shoulder, "I'll be back for my weapon mage!" Kit closed the door behind them. As they walked, Dedjik began to talk to Inochi in a low monotone, who nodded every now and then. It seemed Dedjik wanted a folding weapon, a weapon that could join into one at the guard, or seperate into two, three, or even four weapons. Inochi had a full design plan in his head by the time they got to the smithys, and instructed the other man to light up the kelm, and pull down various materials from the walls. Over the next few hours, he hammered out the blades repeatedly, folding them for maximum strength and efficiency. During that time, Dedjik went and came back from the Mage's tower, recovering his weapon. Otherwise he spent his time leaned up against a wall, calling out suggestions to Inochi as he hammered out the three blades. Once finished, he tempered the swords in the water barrel several times, before laying them out on the table and getting to work on their handles and guards. About a half hour later he'd fixed it so that two swords could be fixed togeather at the guard, and the third fixed onto the bottom with a twist on lock to for the overall weapons blade. In this mode, the lower, seperate swords handle would serve as a hand guard, and the swords that could be fixed togeather each had a half handle than formed the full handle when fixed to eachother. Adding weighting to the handles to balance the blades perfectly, he handed the finished, and quite magnificent weapon, to Dedjik, and turned his attention to Kami, "So, what kind of weapon would you like forged?", he asked, as Dedjik brought the kelm back to a roaring flame. Kami began "But I'd like a set of clawed gauntlets and two daggers." Kami moved toward a table in the corner and grabbed a sheet of paper. Then he picked up a piece of coal and began shaping it into a pencil like object. The next 15 minutes were spent sketching the weapons he wanted Inochi to craft for him. The first design came from a weapon he had seen in Diez's personal armory. The daggers were a 2000 year old design, the carvings on the handle were ancient writings about a supposed god of light (much like earths egyptian god Horus). The claws were just an idea of Kami's, he had a feeling that they would fit his fighting style well. "I'd like the claws to retract, I'm going to ask Kit to enchant them to extend on command. The gauntlets need to be as flexible as possible. It could be quite awkward wearing a pair of stiff gauntlets day in and day out with a set of 8 inch claws protruding from them. Oh, one last thing, could you do a belt for the daggers?" Kami knew it would take time and a lot of work but if they planned on taking on Diez and his men they would need the right equipment. __________________ λѕ wє wїиd ои đоwn тнё яоаd оur ѕђаđоωѕ таllэя тhаи our ѕόuls. тђєяє ώаlkѕ а lаdу wє all kиоω whо šніneѕ ώђітё Ііgнт аиd wаитѕ то ѕђоω hоώ єνєяутhіиg stіll тuяиѕ то gŏlđ. λnd іf yоu lїѕтёй νέяу ђаяd тне тuńę ŵill сомє то уоu ат lλst. ωђёй аll аяё ойє аnđ оnє iѕ аll то βе а яосk аиđ nот тō яоlє. For the claws, he pulled out a pair of leather gloves, and fitted custom frames around Kami's hands. Then he began hammering out the 8 blades, the two daggers being ten inches instead of eight. Once finished folding and tempering each blade, Inochi fixed them to the custom frames on each glove, and pulled out the chemical burner again. He poured more titainium steel molds for the backs of the gloves, and for the back of each finger. Then he fitted a gear contraption onto the inside of the custom frames, that would withdraw the blades so that only an inch or so of steel was apparent when they were unwanted. Then, taking the backplate for each guantlet out of the mould, (with much yelling and shouting of ouch!) he hammered them into plate around the frames. Then dropped the other molds into the water barrel, and quickly withdrew them and fixed them into place on the back of the gloves. Including a palm plate, and lower covering for each finger. Then he fixed wooden handles to each of the daggers, and (keeping his back to Kami) carfully carved out the designs on the hilts. He then handed the daggers to Kami, and walked to the wall, where he pulled down a strip of leather, and fixed a belt buckel to it, along with two sheaths for the daggers. Laying that to, and then the claws on the table in front of Kami, Inochi sat down and could think of nothing else but a well earned nap, and maybe some lobster. __________________ "Where Dragoons meet, blood will flow, when they leave, time does slow." Kami couldn't stop himself from smiling, Inochi was indeed a skilled craftsmen. Kami picked up the weapons one after the other and admired them. He placed a gauntlet on each hand and smiled again, the gauntlets were a perfect fit. The daggers too seemed to fit in the palm of Kami's hands amazingly well, even with the gauntlets on. He picked up the belt and put it on, with the daggers in place he felt ready to take on anyone or anything. He tested the locking mechanisms; he seperated it and put it back together several times. "Just one more thing, and we can be on our way... I'm gonna have this thing enchanted..." Dedjik walked back to the Mage's home. "Sir, I have another set of enchantments that I would like you to cast." "Okay, what would you like?" Dedjik handed him the three swords. He explained that on the biggest sword, he wanted a Shielding spell, then on the other two, an explosion charm and a shockwave spell. The mage nodded, took pretty much the rest of Dedjik's gold, then set to work. About an hour later the mage came out holding the sword all folded together. "This is an amazing sword. Take care of it." Dedjik nodded then thanked the mage for all he did. "Alright, I'm ready. If we have nothing more to do, we can leave." Seeing as Kami already had a horse, he'd forgon getting a new one for him. He passed a pack over to Dedjik, which was filled with the man's provisions for the journey, and one to Kami as well. He tied his to his horses saddle, and hoised himself up into the saddle. "Its two days to White Bridge, the bridge itself will take ten days to traverse, and there is a small town in the middle for travelers. We'll be able to restock if we run low on food, also, Dedjik you might like to know that there is a munitions expert there," the others climbed onto their horses as Inochi set a corse that would take them out of town. "Keep your eye's peeled, Deiz doesn't like losing his possessions." __________________ "Where Dragoons meet, blood will flow, when they leave, time does slow." "Back in a bit! Don't leave without me!" Kami yelled as he started running toward the mages tower. The mage answered looking slightly grumpy.
"I'm glad for all this extra work but couldn't you all have gotten it done at one time?" The mage said his face eventually breaking in to a grin. "Come on up."
Once at the top of the tower the mage quizzed Kami on the specifications of the enchantments he wanted.
"Well..." Kami began. "I need the claws of these gauntlets to extend on command. Then I'd like a light enchantment on both daggers." The boy said laying his weapons down on the table infront of the wizard.
"Ok but what do you mean by light, it can often mean a lot of things." Kit said looking the daggers over.
"To be honest I hadn't thought about it, it just fits in well with the carvings on the handles." Kami said looking down at his weapons.
Kit smiled "I'll see what I can do." The mage began working on the weapons the process took around 4 and a half hours. Kami spent the time talking with the two others. When Kit was finally done he appeared next to the trio with the weapons held tight in his arms.
"Kami, here you go." Kit said smiling "The gauntlets claws will extend with any word you say, so long as it is meant as a command to the weapons they will respond. The blades have been bestowed with some interesting powers but....I'll leave you to figure them out. Oh, and don't worry about the money I know your situation, I shall see you in a few months for the payment."
Kami thanked Kit before mounting his horse, he looked to the others.
"I guess it's finally time to get going." __________________ λѕ wє wїиd ои đоwn тнё яоаd оur ѕђаđоωѕ таllэя тhаи our ѕόuls. тђєяє ώаlkѕ а lаdу wє all kиоω whо šніneѕ ώђітё Ііgнт аиd wаитѕ то ѕђоω hоώ єνєяутhіиg stіll тuяиѕ то gŏlđ. λnd іf yоu lїѕтёй νέяу ђаяd тне тuńę ŵill сомє то уоu ат lλst. ωђёй аll аяё ойє аnđ оnє iѕ аll то βе а яосk аиđ nот тō яоlє. Distinctly grouchy, having to wait another four hours with a talkitive person and a loner, he got on his horse and rode north, not bothering to look back to see if they were following.
Two days later they arrived at the base of White bridge, which was so large Inochi took some time to admire it. The width of the bridge was more than enough for the town at the center, seeing as you could only faintly see the edges of the bridge in the distance. Every mile or so extending into the distance, giant towers stood on each side of the bridge. The whole thing cleamed white, casting its reflection into the green sea. As the horse shoes hit the material the bridge was contructed of, a dull ringing was sent through the material, and hummed in Inochi's ears. He looked around to catch the reactions of the others. __________________ "Where Dragoons meet, blood will flow, when they leave, time does slow."

Bishies! YAY! Posts: 1,354 iTrader: (0) Default Stumbling out of the forest, Sachio fell onto the ground, exhausted by his trek through the forest. His makeshift weapons hadn't helped on his journey, and his supplies had slowly dwindled down to the measly slice of bread and apple core in his pack. He had no water, and needed to rest from his journey. He had been walking non-stop for days on end trying to find the path - or at least, that's what it felt like. He'd given up counting down the seconds after he'd eaten half of his provisions.
However, he had not found the path he looked for. Instead, the beginning of a huge bridge mocked his incompetence, small stalls set up with smiling salesman offering their goods to the few travellers. Struggling to his feet, Sachio limped forwards to the nearest stall. The shopkeeper looked down at him pitifully, and offered a loaf of bread. When he looked questioningly at it, the salesman said softly, 'It's for free. Take it, you look like you need some nutrition.' Smiling weakly, Sachio accepted it, and took a bite. It was quite fresh, and warmed his insides perfectly. Taking more bites, he tried to stand straighter - but his strength gave out. His legs folded in on themselves, and the ex-miner fell to the ground, pack, food and weapons sent flying. The last thing he remembered was soft hands pushing there way under his body, lifting him off the ground...
Waking up suddenly, Sachio yelled in surprise and hurt as he jerked upright. The shopkeeper, along with several others, were clutered around him, holding bottles of water and platefuls of food. Seeing him awake in this manner scared them slightly, but they offered the supplies immediately. Struggling to contain the pain in his abdomen, he accepted these wordlessly and gulped down the cold liquid as soon as he got his hands on it. It soothed the pain, and allowed him to stand slowly. 'You had quite a fall there,' said the first salesman, taking his arm to hold him up. 'We got a good scare from you, mate.' He was grinning. Why was he being so nice? Sachio had never known hospitality before, and was often the one giving it, not receiving it. 'Come on, we'll get you across the bridge - they have medical supplies. You can get back on your feet properly there. We'll take my horses.' At this, the escapee's eyes widened. Never in his wildest dreams had he imagined riding a horse, and now he had the chance! What an honour!
'Thank you,' he gasped out, before taking another gulp of water. 'I owe you one.'
'You're welcome,' smiled the shopkeeper, and brought him over to a small paddock. Two large white horses stood proudly there, waiting for the two to mount. 'Up you go,' said the salesman, heaving on Sachio's arm to swing him onto the saddle. he slumped down, only just managing to stay on the large steed. The salesman mounted on the other horse, and grabbed both reins before setting off at a steady pace.
It took them a few hours to reach the middle of the bridge, at which point the sun was high in the sky, reflecting off of the bridge's surface straight into Sachio's eyes. Holding a hand up to shield them from the blinding light, he looked up, and saw the group of warriors. They all looked vaguely familiar, and it only took a while for him to place them - they had all worked at the camp before being "rescued". A grin spread across his otherwise forlorn features, and he called out to them: 'Hey! I'm sure I've seen you before!' Suddenly, his voice gave out to a bout of coughing, before he regained his ability to speak. 'Sorry, could we stop here? These are some friends of mine,' he said haltingly, talking to the shopkeeper. 'They might take care of me.' __________________ Soon to come! A new manga webcomic from your very own Prof. Cinders! Win a Nintendo DS here! See the 4th gen starter pokemon here!

BIC: Inochi looked around to see another man that looked like he'd come from the slave camps in royal city, he trotted his horse over to him and conversed with the shop-keep in an undertone from a minute. Then helped the man off the horse and onto the back of his. Inochi motioned to the others, and set off again, quickly locating an Inn and some food, before sitting down on a bench with a mug of ale and saying, "So, what's brought you here? If my eye's don't deceave me, your another former slave from the royal city, though certainly not anywhere near as well off as us." __________________ "Where Dragoons meet, blood will flow, when they leave, time does slow."

Kami said placing a tankard of cold ale before Sachio. The man looked incredibly tired and under-nourished. He'd obviously spent many days traveling without food or water.
Kami layed his hands on the table, admiring his gauntlets again. He still couldn't believe Inochi had done such an incredible job.
"Perhaps I should test them?" Kami wondered looking down at his gauntlets. "Extend." The young man commanded, steels claws instantly sprung from gaps on the top of the gauntlets. Kami smiled with glee, the weapons were perfect, he was eager to test them for real though, preferably on Diez's throat. A guard or two would do instead though.
Kami looked up from his weapons and back at Sachio.
"You know, if you plan on traveling with us, you're going to need a decent sword or something. Are you good with any particular type of weapon?" Kami asked taking a long drink from his own tankard. The refreshing liquid felt great as it went down. Kami raised his tankard to Inochi thanking him for buying the drinks. He would have bought his own if only he'd had the money.
"Never mind." Kami though taking a second drink of his ale. He would be sure to repay Inochi in the future, after he'd given Kit his money of course. Kami didn't really like the idea of having a disgruntled wizard hounding him.

Dedjik said as he handed the new comer his water pouch and some slices of dried meat. "And yes, Inochi is right, my name is Dedjik."
"I'm going to explore this town. If you want to come, go ahead," the boy said as he started to walk away. He headed for the center of the town, passing many shops, both temporary and permanent. All of the merchants who weren't busy haggling with another trader called to Dedjik, telling him of their 'fine' wares and deals. He chose to ignore them and continue walking. None of the ads actually interested him, or he could tell that some of the merchants were scammers.
As he reached the town square, he saw many people and the various shops. A statue of Deiz digustingly stood in the center of the town, it's golden surface reflecting sun light into Dedjik's eyes mockingly. He scowled, then made it a point to take down that statue 'by accident' should there be a fight of some sort. The boy then looked around, seeing that any of the Inns near the square were somewhat expensive, the restaurants too fancy, and the weapon dealers not up to Inochi's standards. He decided to head for the tavern, after remembering that a gunsmith resided somewhere in the city.
Dedjik entered the tavern; the only people inside were the barkeep and a few regulars. They casually glanced at him as he walked in, then went back to their business. He approached the bar.
"What'll it be?" the barkeep said as Dedjik sat down.
"Nothing for now. But, you wouldn't happen to know where the Gunsmith of this town lives, would you?" Dedjik responded. Then he added, "And a place to stay for four that doesn't cost too much would be nice too."
"Yeah, he lives near the western edge of town. He's got a sign over his shop, so you shouldn't miss it. There's also a cheap inn near that area. I think it's something like the Three Monkeys or something..."
"Thank you," Dedjik said. He tossed the barkeep two coins as a gesture of thanks and walked out. He found the group and told them that there might be a place to stay for the night __________________ "The ability to quote is a serviceable substitute for wit."-W. Nothing much else to tell, really. My father was a weaponsmith though, but didn't pass on any skills or anything. All I got was a dagger. My brother got all the expertise...' With this comment, his eyes clouded over for a second in memory. He had left so many things behind... Including his brother's memory. Coming back to the present, he returned to the conversation. 'Well, that's behind me now. Bit too late for tedious memories. You say you make weapons? I have a few coins of my own...' Digging into his pack again, he drew out some gold and handed it to Inochi. Posts: 1,405 iTrader: (0) Default Dedjik walked west, trying to find the Gunsmith's shop. The shops began thinning out, and the houses began. Occasionally, he spotted the odd sign of a family owned business, but he mostly ignored them and continued looking for the Inn or the smith.
After about an hour of walking, even the houses began to thin, and he could see the sides of the bridge through the buildings. The sun was starting to set, but Dedjik didn't really mind. Then, as the sun began to disappear below the edge of the bridge, Dedjik saw a sign that read "Gunsmith." A couple houses to the left was the sign of the Inn "The Three Monkeys."
The boy ran to the building and knocked on the door. A man opened it up and looked at Dedjik. "Yes?" he asked.
"I'm looking for the Gunsmith."
"That'd be me, kid. Come on inside."
Dedjik followed the man in and looked around. The house was small, but every wall had various guns hung up on it. The man had several tools and pieces of a gun strewn across a wooden table. He sat down and continued to work on the gun. 'So I guess you want a gun, right?"
"Actually, I'm looking for an upgrade to this gun," DEdjik replied, holding out the gun he had stolen. "For me, the weight and the grip feel perfect, but I think it could be better. And all that it's got is an accuracy charm on it."
"Accuracy charm, eh? Well, good, that means less work for me..." the Gunsmith said... he stood up and took the gun. "You see, the way accuracy charms generally work on guns is that it smooths the bullet inside the chamber and sometimes even puts grooves in it that'll allow faster flight. I usually do that myself, except without magic..." he mumbled as he looked over the gun and tossed it from side to side.
"Tell ya what: I'll do this job for about 500 gold."
"500? Aww, I don't have that kind of money right now. I guess I'll be leaving now..." Dedjik responded, dejected.
"S'alright, I'll let ya come back at another time to pay, but I'll have to charge 600 instead. Business, y'know?"
"Okay, that's fine with me..."
The Gunsmith sat down at his table and started to take apart the gun. He looked at each part carefully, then took out another set of parts. The only thing he kept from the old gun was the chamber, which was where the charm was focused. Over the course of a few hours, the Gunsmith crafted the new gun. He took out a metal tube and hand carved grooves on the inside, greasing it all the time, and occaisionally dropping a weight through it to see how it went through. He took out a handle, adding various plates of metal to adjust the weight. Anything he added was obviously hand crafted by the way they were made.
After those few hours, Dedjik now had a new gun. It felt the same way in his hand, but it looked a lot better. He thanked the Gunsmith, bought a few more bullets, then went out to find that it was the middle of the night. __________________ "The ability to quote is a serviceable substitute for wit."-W. Lord Of Blades Top-decker Lord Of Blades's Avatar Join Date: Jan 2005 Posts: 202 iTrader: (0) Default Inochi was just about to start on his third tankard of ale, when a fireball streaked down out of the night, causing the building next to their's to explode. "What the hell?" he ran outside, the others close on his heals. Almost fifty dragons flew overhead, the more massive one's carrying ten men each on their backs. The largest dragons, ten of them, hovered over the town, each strong gust of wind knocking people over, and even Inochi had a hard time keeping his feet. From each dragon, ten men dropped down to the ground, each man armed with gun and sword. They set about ransacking the village as the dragon's flew overhead, destroying everything in range of their breath. A few of the men noticed Inochi, and came charging for him, gun's pulled out and firing.
He ripped his sword off his back, and hid behind the massive blade as the pullets smashed into it. They're guns were quickly emptied, and he pulled his sword off the ground, commanding his enchantment to lighten it to an absurd point. As the first guard reached him, he swung it with one hand as though it were a sword 10 times lighter, and bisected the man. The second man nearly met the same fate, but brought his sword up quickly enough to deflect the blow. The last man stabed at Inochi, but found his sword battered aside by the hilt of Inochi's sword. He looked down on the man for a moment, before his hand connected with his face, and turned back towards the man who'd actually managed to defend himself. He brought the sword crashing down over his head, but the man dodged aside, and made a stab for Inochi's kidneys, who also stepped aside and brought his sword around at knee level, chopping through the man's shins with ease. He dropped to the ground, and Inochi finished him off with a quick blow to the head. One of the rider's noticed him, and commanded his dragon to send a blast down on him. He heard a dull roar and locked up, to see a massive fire-ball hurtling towards him, cursing, he flung his sword up flate side to protect himself, and the fireball slammed into him. It pushed him and his sword all the way across the street and into the opposite wall, where he took a rather undignified fall right on his arse, and rubbing it, ran down a side street, looking for a way to seek vengence on that dragon. __________________ "Where Dragoons meet, blood will flow, when they leave, time does slow."

Posts: 1,405 iTrader: (0) Default Dedjik took the short walk from the Gunsmith's home to the Three Monkeys Inn. He entered the building and found himself in a grungy looking tavern, Inochi already inside drinking. The boy was about to sit down and have a drink himself when the building next door exploded. Dedjik cursed then ran outside, a few seconds after Inochi.
Inochi was already taking on his set of enemies and looked like he could easily take them. Dedjik ran towards the next dragon. The ten men were busy destroying the houses in the area to notice him. "Let's see if this thing works...." he muttered tom himself as he took out his new gun. He pointed it at the nearest man and pulled the trigger, the bullet flying cleanly through the barrel, and right into the head of the man. He crumpled to the ground, dead. Dedjik fired again and took out another attacker, hitting him in the heart this time.
By then, 4 of the attackers had noticed him. The other 4 were probably already in another part of town, or they were inside one of the houses. THe four ran towards Dedjik, firing their guns as they ran.
Dedjik quickly put his gun back into it's holster, then took out his sword. He unfolded the first layer, taking the largest of the three swords and stabbing it into the ground in front of him. He activated the shield spell and watched the bullets fly completely around him. The boy held the remaining part of the sword above his head, then slammed it straight into the ground. The two spells of the sword, Explosion and Shockwave, activated at the same time, firing a large explosion at the attackers. It hit all four of them, but the explosion drew out the other 4 men.
The other four men came to attack him, but they were smarter and spaced themselves out so a single blast wouldn't take thme all out at the same time. Dedjik looked at each of his opponents, then unfolded the other two swords he had. He picked up the shield sword and put it on his back to help defend himself. This time the boy didn't wait and rushed the nearest attacker. He sliced downwards with one sword, which was blocked, then quickly slashed from the side, catching the man in his side. Dedjik activated the shockwave spell in his second sword, blowing the unfortunate man apart.
Suddenly, he felt the force of a sword on his back. Had the shield spell not been activated, he would have been killed. Dedjik stumbled forward, but pulled into a roll and stood back up to face his new opponent. The boy slammed his explosion sword into the man's defending sword and activated the explosion. He quickly cast the shield around himself so he wouldn't be killed by the explosion as well.
After all those spells, Dedjik was feeling quite drained of energy. With each magic attack, he had to use his own energy to power it. He stuck one of his swords in the ground and leaned on it, while watching the other two men, advancing more cautiously now that they saw the might of his weapons. His vision blurred a little, but that didn't stop him from pulling out his gun and taking two shots at one of the men, the first shot completely missing, and the second hitting the man's sword, making a sizeable dent in it. A third shot hit the man in the foot, but that didn't stop the attacker, and his fourth and final shot also missed.
The two men then rushed Dedjik, swords held high, to attack him at the same time. Suddenly, both of them crumpled, a gunshot ringing from behind them. The Gunsmith stood there, a pistol in hand, smiling. "Though ye might need a little help," he said. __________________ "The ability to quote is a serviceable substitute for wit."-W. Killing another man that tried to waylay him, his eye's set on one of the many towers along the side of the bridge. The town was sitting right in the shadow of one, so, an idea suddenly coming to him, he rushed over to the nearest tower, bursting through the door, and started running up the stairs. Once on the top of the tower, he found the dragon and its rider waiting for him.
"I'll give you a choice," the rider called, "Join Deiz, or die." Inochi grinned, a smartarse comeback on his lips, but he retrained himself, and instead simply gave the man the finger. The rider frowned, and the dragon launched itself into the air. It hovered over Inochi, the rider spoke again, "I'm sorry you feel that way, its unfortunate for you, now die!" The dragon sucked in a huge breath, but Inochi was quicker. He used the swords gravity spell to lighten it as much as possible, and flung the sword at the dragon. It spin twice and then went right through the dragons neck, which fell to the growned, its rider crying out in agony. A little overpleased with himself, he used his armors gravity spell to reach out to his still flying sword, and pull it back to him, catching it neatly in his hand. "Inochi Dragonslayer, I like it," he grinned, and ran back down the steps. __________________ "Where Dragoons meet, blood will flow, when they leave, time does slow."

As the men started attacking the warrior drew both weapons and ran forward. His blades peirced the back of one of the attacking men who was busy counting the money of a dead villager. The man fell to the ground, both lungs had been punctured, he lay dying as he tried to suck air in to his bleeding organs. A second attacker rushed Kami attempting to slash him with his sword. Kami dodged and grabbed the mans wrist, he gave an almighty twist which broke the attackers arm. Screaming he dropped his sword which Kami quickly picked up, he looked it over, it had the Diez's royal seal upon it. The sword made a clanging sound as Kami dropped it, he grabbed the man again and stuck on of his daggers handle deep in to the guys gut. Kami sliced upward and drew the blade out of the mans body, wide eyed the attacker fell to the ground stone dead.
Almost as soon as the body hit the ground a third man grabbed Kami from behind, his arms were wrapped tightly round the warriors neck. As he struggled the man tightened his grib, slowly crushing Kami's throat. Reaching behind himself, Kami was able to push his clenched fist against the mans side.
"Die.." Kami croaked, his gauntlets responded to the word like any other command and claws shot from the end. The steel spikes peirced the side of Kami's attacker, they wedged themselves between his ribs which cracked and broke under the strain. The agony felt by Kami's attacker was unimaginable, his arms loosened up as he tried to push himself away. Kami pulled his hand out and spun to face the man, his face showed nothing but fear. He had realised that the end was near, Kami watched as he began stumbling backwards. Blood poured from his wound soaking his clothes and leaving a puddle on the ground.
"Allow me to put you out of your misery." Kami said walking forward, he slashed the mans throat with his claws, like the other attacker the guy dropped to the floor dead. He had lost too much blood and his body had simply given up. Kami looked around Dedjik had just finished fighting a group of Diez's men but Inochi was nowhere to be seen.
"I'm sure he'll be ok." Kami said looking around again, he was being careful this time, he wasn't going to let anyone sneak up on him. __________________ λѕ wє wїиd ои đоwn тнё яоаd оur ѕђаđоωѕ таllэя тhаи our ѕόuls. тђєяє ώаlkѕ а lаdу wє all kиоω whо šніneѕ ώђітё Ііgнт аиd wаитѕ то ѕђоω hоώ єνєяутhіиg stіll тuяиѕ то gŏlđ. λnd іf yоu lїѕтёй νέяу ђаяd тне тuńę ŵill сомє то уоu ат lλst. ωђёй аll аяё ойє аnđ оnє iѕ аll то βе а яосk аиđ nот тō яоlє. He ran out the doors of the tower, and came skidding to a halt. Standing before him in blood-soaked armor, holding a long sword in both hands, stood the dragon rider of the dragon he'd just slain. His jet black hair was cast over his eye's, casting them in an angry shade. He lifted his sword up, and took one of his hands off it, grasping the blade in his palm. "You killed my dragon, my mind mate Fydbra! I know swear this blood oath, if it takes a thousand years I will kill you!" He swept the sword across his palm, drawing an intense amount of blood. He pulled a red leather glove onto the hand, and took up a ready stance.
Inochi raised his sword, readying for the charge, but he barely got a chance. The rider rushed forward at an impossible speed, and swept his sword in towards Inochi's throat. Inochi just managed to parry the blow, and was knocked back a good five feet. Cursing, he turned his sword back towards the man, only to find a bolt of fire heading his way. He reached through the magic barrier, and used it to create a magical shield before the bolt. It struck, and his shield shattered. Blinking the afterimage out of his eye's, Inochi could just make out the man coming at him, like death himself, right after the fire-bolt. He brought his sword whipping across at waist level, and the man jumped over it, stabbing at his throat. Inochi reversed parried with the back of the sword, and brought it around over his head. The man dodged to the side, and swung at Inochi, drawing a deep cut in his leg. He yelled, took both hands off his sword, and grabbed the man's throat, lifting him full off the ground and flinging him away. The man made a quick tuck-roll on the ground, and came back up facing Inochi. Inochi pulled his sword out of the ground, and looked at the rider with cold anger.
A horn blew somewhere, and a sour look crossed the man's face, "I'll see you again, warrior. Know that Fuer Chaos comes to take you heart!" he took off at a full run, stoping to drop something on his dragon, which disapeared into thin air, and continues running down the street. Inochi felt no desire to follow him, for the moment, and instead went to look for Dedjik and Kami. __________________ "Where Dragoons meet, blood will flow, when they leave, time does slow."

Suddenly, they were stopped by a roar in the air, the sound of a wild beast attacking its victim. The two looked up to see a Dragon and its rider descending down onto them. It reared its huge head, breathing in a gust of air, then breathed out again, releasing the special chemicals that would melt just about anything.
The boy quickly reacted by bringing up his sword, which was fully folded together again, and activated the magical shield. The shield surrounded both himself and the Gunsmith, barely protecting them from the blast. As the breath of flame surrounded the two, Dedjik could feel his energy quickly being sapped by the sword. Apparently, the Mage had put enchantments that drew directly from the user's energy. The boy was slowly brought down to one knee, trying to keep the barrier up. The fire relented seconds later, but it had felt like an eternity to him.
The dragon landed heavily in the charred remains of the area it had burned. Dedjik took a few breaths, then readied himself. He unfolded his sword again, putting the shield sword on his back and holding the other two swords in each hand. Dedjik rushed forward, and as the dragon was about to release another breath, he slammed his shockwave sword into the ground to catapult himself into the air. The flames roared below him as he switched his shockwave for his shield. The dragon stopped its attack, then looked up at Dedjik only to get hit in the face with the explosion sword. As soon as he had released the spell, Dedjik activated a frontal magical sheild to protect himself from the blast.
The boy was thrown into the air, this time away from the dragon. He didn't have anywhere near enough strength or agility to land, so he hit the ground hard, rolling as he hit because of momentum. He put his sword in the ground and brought himself up with it, leaning on the blade as he watched the smoke dissippate. As it cleared, he stared in horror to see that the dragon was barely affected, except for the change in color where it was hit.
Suddenly the Gunsmith sprung into action. With agility a man of his age should not possess, he leapt onto one of the charred remains of a building. He took out a large handgun and aimed at the dragon and shot. The bullet hit the dragon in the head, making its head fly back, but didn't quite pierce the scales. The Gunsmith shot again, again hitting the head. The dragon's head flew back again, but it quickly regained its balance and lunged at the Gunsmith. The Gunsmith jumped out of the way of the dragon's claw and landed on another piece of building. He shot, hitting the head again, jumped as the dragon's tail destroyed the building, and landed on the ground. The dragon again tried to hit the man with its claw, but he jumped onto the dragon's arm and ran up. As the dragon attempted to bite him off, he flipped onto the dragon's head and at point blank range, shot the dragon in the eye. The Gunsmith jumped off and landed on the gorund.
The dragon bellowed in a combination of pain and rage, but the angle of the shot was such that it didn't actually kill the dragon. As the Rider drew his sword to avenge his dragon's pain, a horn blew. The Rider looked at the Gunsmith, shook his head, cast a quick healing charm on the dragon's eye, then flew away. __________________ "The ability to quote is a serviceable substitute for wit."-W. Posts: 1,354 iTrader: (0) Default Sachio ran out of the inn, and beheld the scene of distructon that met his eyes. Men ran past him, many covered in blood, some carrying swords marked with the King's crest. His eyes glazed over, remembering his family, remembering how each had died at the King's command. Pain flooded his senses, then sharpened them to give him the full sense of battle. Anger quickly followed, breaking through the boy's weakened mind. Blind to anything else, he sprang into action, drawing the flimsy sword and pick and jumping into the midst of battle. Wielding the two weapons fiercely, he struck two soldiers down with two mighty swipes, whirling around again to face the next few. Bringing the blades together, he hacked through one's shield to land on another's side, bringing him to his knees. The now shieldless warrior lunged with his sword, striking Sachio's side, but he ignored the wound and stabbed the soldier in the chest. Another attacked from behind, but he spun on his heel and hacked his legs off at the knees. With his newfound strength, the boy worked his way towards the nearest dragon.
Suddenly, the warriors heard the sharp call of the horn and backed away from the frenzied boy. Sachio didn't stop chasing them until they were out of sight, and even then whirled his weapons around like a maniac. Screaming wildly, he fell to his knees and dropped the sword and pick. The pain of myriad wounds overcame his body, along with the compounded emotional wounds that should have been healed long ago. Breaking down, Sachio screamed again, and fell crying to his side, landing on the gaping wound on his side. Exhaustion took his mind, reminding him of his weakness from the journey there and the energy used in battle. Closing his eyes, tears fell onto the ground and he let himself fall into the beckoning unconsciousness. __________________ Soon to come! A new manga webcomic from your very own Prof. Cinders! He looked up to, in time to see every dragon rider begin casting some kind of spell at the bridge. He open his mind to the magic, and scanned the riders, his heart suddenly gripped by cold at the strength of the spell they were casting. He looked around at the others, gripped by sudden fear. "Run," he shouted, and putting word to action, raced off around to the stables a pulled out the horses. As the others mounted the horsed, he ran over to Sachio, laying the unconsious man across the saddle, he jumped on himself, and rode full pelt out of the town, the others close on his heels.
Four-hundred meters from the town, something suddenly beat the air, sending vibrations through marrow, bone, and blood. They all turned in unison on their horses to look towards the town. The riders had focused their energy between the town and themselves, and a single ball of black energy hung in the air. The dragons all teleported away, and the ball of energy contracted to nothing. All was quite for a moment, the an intense burst of white light, and a shock-wave that threw them all hundreds of meters crashed through the night.
Inochi awoke in the growing dawn, every inch of him in pain, and looked slowly around in the half light. Where the town had been, there was nothing. A gaping hole in a bridge five miles wide, leading down to the ocean. Nothing remained. He collapsed again, unconsious. __________________ "Where Dragoons meet, blood will flow, when they leave, time does slow."

Sitting up he was almost sick with disgust at the actions of the dragon riders. A busy town full of people, free, happy people. People who had avoided the slavery of Diez's royal city, people who had worked hard to make a life for themselves. All of them gone, destroyed for no good reason.
"Diez will pay for this." Kami spat, looking in to the distance at the great hole where the town once stood. His mind was a mess, unable to comprehend the actions of Diez's men. How could they take so many lives without regret, without cause? He sat quietly just staring across the bridge, a lone tear clinging to the corner of his eye. Hours passed, Kami never shifted once, his eyes stayed fixed on the great void in the center of the enormous bridge. Kami gave a deep sigh, his heart felt heavy, all he could think about was the people of the town. They had no idea what had been awaiting them, as they sat in there homes, laughed with there friends, tucked there children in to bed.
"Those people....." Kami muttered, attempting to speak, but the rest of the words would not come. He was in shock, never in his life had he seen such needless distruction or such great loss of life. The warrior lay down, unable to look at the bridge any longer, all he could do now was wait for the others to wake. __________________ λѕ wє wїиd ои đоwn тнё яоаd оur ѕђаđоωѕ таllэя тhаи our ѕόuls. тђєяє ώаlkѕ а lаdу wє all kиоω whо šніneѕ ώђітё Ііgнт аиd wаитѕ то ѕђоω hоώ єνєяутhіиg stіll тuяиѕ то gŏlđ. λnd іf yоu lїѕтёй νέяу ђаяd тне тuńę ŵill сомє то уоu ат lλst. ωђёй аll аяё ойє аnđ оnє iѕ аll то βе а яосk аиđ nот тō яоlє. The sun had risen to a good hight, it looked like it was early morning now. The water was glowing a dull orange, and everything seemed peaceful. He looked around, and spotted Kami sitting some distance away, staring at the whole that was once a town of innocents. He started to move forwards, then heard yet another horn in the distance, similar to the one used on the battle-field to recall the dragon riders. He looked into the distance on the bridge, on their side of the bridge, an entire line of horse-men were riding towards the whole, and on the other side, a line of soldiers was advancing. "Just great, wonderful. Today would not be a god day to die, now where the hell are the horses?" He looked around, trying to spot them. His horse was a few hundred yards away, the others horses were scattered in various positions across the bridge. He ran over to his horse, and collected the other horses once he retreaved his own. Sachio was still on the back of his horse, lucky S.O.B, not even a scratch on him. Inochi grumbled about this for a while, then rode the horses over the Kami, "Hey Kami, looks like we're going to have to ride through that, you feel alright?" He scanned around as he spoke, looking for Dedjik. He growled, those riders were getting awfully close, and he couldn't see Dedjik anywhere. "Kami?" __________________ "Where Dragoons meet, blood will flow, when they leave, time does slow."

His eyes were still watery as he jumped down to rejoin his new comarades.
"Dammit, Deiz... he'll pay for this..." he said as he walked up to Inochi and Kami.
Suddenly, one of the bigger bushes nearby started to shake. The Gunsmith instinctively drew his gun and pointed at the bush. There was a moan, then Dedjik pushed his way out. He held his head, indicating that he must've hit it somewhere.

Morning dew soaked into his ragged clothes. Rolling onto his back, he slowly sat up. 'Wh... What happened? Where am I?' Looking at the others groggily, his memory kicked back in. The battle replayed in his mind's eye. His features switched from tired to surprised, then to anger. 'Those dragons... Damnit. What happened after I-' He had glanced at the bridge. Seeing the scores of soldiers and the gaping hole, he jumped onto his feet - and promptly fell over again. He swore silently, then stood slowly, clutching his head. Feeling his side, he noted the still bleeding wound and found no weapons. 'Must've dropped them,' he muttered to himself, and shrugged his bloodied pack off of his shoulders. Opening it, he took out bandages and quickly bound his side. 'Anyone else need these before we fight again?' he asked, offering the bandages to the others while grabbing a slice of meat from the pack. Tearing at it with his teeth, it was soon finished. 'You'll need 'em to stop bleeding, if you are; unless you've got your own, of course.' __________________ Soon to come! A new manga webcomic from your very own Prof. Cinders! Win a Nintendo DS here! Looking down he found an odd shaped gash with a thin river of blood running from it. He hadn't noticed it before because he'd been too buried in his thoughts. He didn't have that luxury this time and the throbbing pain began to kick in.
"Ow, I think I might need one of those." Kami said reaching out. Sachio leaned over and handed a loose bandage to his companion. The warrior quickly set about strapping the bandage tightly to his wound, making sure to apply enough pressure to retard the bleeding. As he watched Sachio tuck in to his meaty snack Kami soon became aware of another sensation. The sensation of having your stomach try and devour itself.
"Wow, I'm kind of hungry, do we have any more food?" The young man asked looking at the others. He knew they'd probably be hungry too, none of them had eaten since before the Three Monkeys Inn. __________________ λѕ wє wїиd ои đоwn тнё яоаd оur ѕђаđоωѕ таllэя тhаи our ѕόuls. тђєяє ώаlkѕ а lаdу wє all kиоω whо šніneѕ ώђітё Ііgнт аиd wаитѕ то ѕђоω hоώ єνєяутhіиg stіll тuяиѕ то gŏlđ. λnd іf yоu lїѕтёй νέяу ђаяd тне тuńę ŵill сомє то уоu ат lλst. ωђёй аll аяё ойє аnđ оnє iѕ аll то βе а яосk аиđ nот тō яоlє. He then threw half a load of bread, and a block of cheese over to Kami. "Anyone else want anything? Don't eat to much though, those soldiers won't take pity on us just because our belly's are full," he pointed at the line of advancing horsemen. "And does anyone have an extra weapon? Sachio seems to have lost his." __________________ "Where Dragoons meet, blood will flow, when they leave, time does slow."

He reached over, holding it handle first toward Sachio.
"Don't lose it, I'd like it back someday." Kami said smirking. Sachio took hold of the weapon and looked it over. The dagger was incredibly light yet still very well balanced. The blade seemed to glow with an unatural light and the edge was razor sharp.
"Perfect." Sachio grinned, he could wield a dagger well and this one was a particularly well made weapon.
"The dagger is enchanted. I don't know the commands to use it's powers, the wizard told me I would find out for myself." Kami said taking the second dagger from his belt. Just holding it made him feel calm, as though his troubles had been lifted. He swiped the air which lit up as the blade moved through it. Suddenly a low growl resonated from Kami's stomach.
"Heh heh." He laughed sheepishly, grabbing the bread and cheese from his lap. It wasn't long before he'd eaten his fill. He passed the food on to Dedjik and continued looking at the second dagger.

BIC: Sachio glanced over the short blade again, then tucked it into his belt carefully. It seemed to be like one his father had made long ago, but it wasn't the same. He would find that blade one day, and return this weapon to Kami. 'Thanks, mate,' he muttered, and repacked everything. Stiffly stretching his sides, he winced as the cut rubbed against its bindings. The blood had stopped flowing, but stained the bandages badly. Grinning grimly, he gestured at the horses. 'Can I have a ride? Still no horse of my own. Sorry about being such a resource drain,' he said, shouldering his pack and resting one hand on the dagger's pommel. __________________ Soon to come! As he waited for the group to move, Dedjik took a bite out of the bread. With each bite, it felt as if new energy was being funneled into him. He quickly finished up, hopefully ready to take on the approaching army. He made a mental note not to use his weapon's spells unless he really needed to because of the massive amounts of energy it took to use them. __________________ "The ability to quote is a serviceable substitute for wit."-W. "I want you all to stay directly behind me, I'm going to use magic to try and break a hole in their advancing line. If anyone is left, and you get knocked off your horses, its up to you to deal with them. But remember, if you get knocked off your horse, you'll probably die, so stay right on my arse and don't get split up." He looked over to Dedjik, "I want you to take out anyone 20 meter's on either side of me, once we get within a hundred meters. Hopefully that will cut down on the mount of people that will get in out way," He looked back at Sachio, "Listen Sachio, the energy of the spell I'm about to preform will either knock me out, or just leave me extremely weak, so be prepared to keep me on this horse, I've no wish to die, I have to remove Deiz's throat first." He looked around at everyone grimly, and looked towards the advancing horsemen. "Alright, no use sticking around waiting for them to come to us! Charge!" He rod off towards the center of the horsemen's formation, not bothering to look back to see if anyone was behind him. As he rode, he began to chant in an ancient tongue, and gathered energy from the beyond that lived at the edges of his mind.
He saw a few men go down to either side of him, so he assumed Dedjik was doing his job, and let loose his spell. Like water, fire flowed forth from his hand, forming a ball 10 meters in front of his horse, and then he released the fire from his control, and it flew forwards, incinerating everything in its path. All that was left of those in its path were red hot pieces of armor, and it dissipated another 50 meters beyond the troops. Inochi slumped down on his horse, semi-consious. __________________ "Where Dragoons meet, blood will flow, when they leave, time does slow."

Drawing the dagger, he stabbed passing horsemen with a yell. Taking the reins and, hugging them to Inochi's chest, steered the horse carefully through the line, stabbing those who got too close. Several clipped the two on the side with swords or the edges of shields, and one almost knocked Sachio off completely. However, few of them seemed to be able to get close to the pair, as those behind were killing them off as fast as they could. Clearing the last enemy, the horse leapt into the clearing beyond the advancing line, and Sachio grinned.

As they neared the line of troops, the two readied their guns. The Gunsmith took out his gun, the barrel alone about the length of a grown man's forearm. He flicked his wrist while simultaneously depressing a lever which caused the barrel to snap down ward on a hinge. Inside was the cylinder which held 8 bullets, rather than the standard 6. He loaded, snapped his wrist back up, then pulled back the hammer.
"Which is yer better hand, kid?" the Gunsmith asked.
"I guess my right," Dedjik responded.
"Alright, I'll take the left side then."
Dedjik nodded and pointed his gun to the soldiers to the left of Inochi. He fired several times, missing several times, but hitting more than fifty percent. The Gunsmith, on the other hand, used each bullet to take down it's specified target, and sometimes he even caught two soldiers if they were standing too close together and the bullet went through the first. __________________ "The ability to quote is a serviceable substitute for wit."-W. His heart was suddenly filled with dismay, "Oh hell guys," he half yelled, "Looks like their gonna chase us! Head north east," he said, pointing. A great wall of forest was in that direction, and it wouldn't exactly be hard to lose the soldiers in there. "Follow the wandering path, its how the animals get around, it'll look like a half trail, sort of grown over, but vaugly visible." He slumped down, un-consious once more. __________________ "Where Dragoons meet, blood will flow, when they leave, time does slow."

Quickly grabbing him and pulling him back onto the saddle, he steered the horse towards the forest. Urging their steed into a faster pace, they managed to leap through the small barrier of overgrowth hiding the path Inochi had mentioned. The boy heard the horsemen turning behind them, coming towards them rapidly. However, the noise was soon lost to the engulfing silence of the forest Sachio had had to live through for days on end before he met the group. Trying to forget his experiences, he tried to wake the boy after tying the reins to the front of the saddle. __________________ Soon to come! A new manga webcomic from your very own Prof. Cinders! Posts: 1,405 iTrader: (0) Default Dedjik nodded and lead his horse towards the forest. He looked back at Deiz's soldiers, his heart sounding in his ears like a giant's footsteps. He looked back to the front and tried to make the horse gallop even faster into the relative shelter of the woods. However, the attackers still seemed to be slowly gaining on the group.
"This should buy us a little time..." the Gunsmith muttered. From one of the pockets within his worn brown leather jacket he pulled three spheres. With a quick shift, he was now facing the back of the horse and towards the soldiers. The Gunsmith threw the three spheres at the approaching line of horsemen, then shot them all in quick succession. Each sphere exploded sending down flaming debris, which upon touching the ground, exploded into more fire. The man faced forward again. "Experimental bombs I made recently. It's a mixture of homebrewed chemicals and fire enchanted balls.... Good to see they worked as planned." He winked and looked back to see the horsemen now trying to avoid the intense chemical fires.
Dedjik smiled as the horse jumped over a small hedge. They found the path and followed it, like Inochi said. Suddenly, a particular map that his father drew came to the boy's mind. "This forest isn't a particularly large one. It should only take us a day or two to get through it following this winding path. When we get out, we're probably going to see the Vitsaran Steppes." His voice was slightly worried. Although the forest was fairly safe save for the wild animals, the Vitsaran Steppes were known for the dangerous bandits and for being a sanctuary for wanted criminals. __________________ "The ability to quote is a serviceable substitute for wit."-W. The horse burst in to a full on run. It's large muscles rippled as the beast tore through the forest. He knew from what Dedjik had said that the trees wouldn't last long but he hoped they would last until they could outrun the very last of the attacking riders. The thick branches overhead weaved together to create a canopy that blocked out the sun. Kami had to strain to see where they were going once they got nearer the center of the woods. Luckily the horses seemed to have a good sense of where the trees were and where they could move while running.
"Dedjik, about the Vitsaran Steppes. Are we likely to be in danger? I know we've fought well so far but we can't kid ourselves, sooner or later we will come up against someone who is truly powerful. I have a feeling that Diez's dragon riders that attacked the village were far from being his strongest soldiers. Inochi won't be able to fight as well as usual until he has a chance to rest and recover. This adds to my fears, what if we cannot fight our way out of the next situation?" Kami called to his companion.

BIC: Prime dreamt. As the darkness overtook him, he beheld a vision. A woman, all dressed in green, eye's red as fire glared at him. He stood before her, and around them, a great hall. Grey as all stone seems to be, silent hung inside of it, profoundly disturbing. A sharp sound behind him, a sword hitting the ground. He whirled around. A tall man in grey robes stood there, his sword a slice of darkness taken from a black sky. Behind him, the woman spoke. "My lord Diez, the ones called Inochi, Dedjik, Sachio, and Kami are free again. I've sent out trackers, but they've been unable to procure them." She looked at though she was deeply sorry, but somehow Dedjik sensed she was not. Rage crossed Diez's face, but was quickly controlled. "Find them! Bring them to me! They must not live, I was to leniant last time, this time they die. Take care of this for me, Lady Hellion." The lady bowed her head, "Yes, My Lord." She left, her heels connecting sharply with the stone floor. Inochi locked his eye's on Deiz, "You murdered my family, DIE!" He ran across the stone floor, and brought his massive blade down on Deiz's head. The figured vanished, and Inochi woke with a start...
And fell off the horse. "Oh, damn, ouch!" He got up, to see Sachio charging off on the horse. "Hey man, get back here and pick me up!"

Grabbing the reins from the saddle once more, he pulled the horse round to face back the way they came. 'Inochi, where are you?' he called out, not wanting to trip over the boy before he found him. After a while, he realised that he must have missed him. 'Damnit,' he muttered, stopping in a small clearing. Looking around, he glimpsed the fallen rider a short way through the trees. Kicking the horse into action, he closed in on the location. 'Inochi, man, you had me scared for a second there!' he called out, holding out a hand to catch him in full gallop. There are of course, the normal bandits and theifs who are about as strong as we would be without any magical weapons and such. Then there are the bandits who ban together to form small parties. A lot of the time, they'll have their strengths complimenting each other, so they could be a bit harder. Then there are the massive raiding parties. There are raiders who travel in bands of over 100, who periodically raid towns and such.
"But, I'm fairly sure we should be able to take on any normal bandit or raider given enough time. What we need to worry about are the criminals who hide there. These aren't your normal jail breaks. These are people who are on wanted lists across the islands. They're the types who were kept in maximum security but managed to escape. They might know high level magic, they could be insanely good swordsmen, they might be skilled in ninja-like stealth, etc."
Dedjik left it at that and continued to gallop on to the end of the forest. As soon as they reached the steppes, the soldiers would probably be called back. The commanders wouldn't be stupid enough to let their incompetent troops into the dangers of the steppes with little provisions and with the badnits and criminals lurking there. __________________ "The ability to quote is a serviceable substitute for wit."-W. This showed that they were now on there way toward the end of the small forest. The warrior looked around and his friends to make sure they were all still together. After Dedjik had stopped talking it had gone rather quiet apart from the sound of the horses hooves hitting the ground.
"Sachio, is Inochi ok?" Kami shouted to the rider infront. He wasn't sure if Sachio was concious again or not after that fall. He hoped that he was, it was likely the group would meet some hostility once they reached the steppes. If Inochi was still out it could put the rest at disadvantage. __________________ λѕ wє wїиd ои đоwn тнё яоаd оur ѕђаđоωѕ таllэя тhаи our ѕόuls. тђєяє ώаlkѕ а lаdу wє all kиоω whо šніneѕ ώђітё Ііgнт аиd wаитѕ то ѕђоω hоώ єνєяутhіиg stіll тuяиѕ то gŏlđ. λnd іf yоu lїѕтёй νέяу ђаяd тне тuńę ŵill сомє то уоu ат lλst. ωђёй аll аяё ойє аnđ оnє iѕ аll то βе а яосk аиđ nот тō яоlє. Sachio yelled back, hoping that what he said was going to remain the truth for at least ten minutes or so, this time. 'Where exactly are we headed now?' He glanced over the clearing, pulling Inochi up to the saddle and spurring on the horse. The trees seemed to be thinning slowly, meaning that they had to be close to the edge now. He grinned with barely concealed exitment, he was starting to enjoy being a warrior instead of a blacksmith. __________________ "Where Dragoons meet, blood will flow, when they leave, time does slow."

Dedjik said as he rode his horse through the edge of the forest. As the trees cleared, the rising sun shone into the boy's eyes, temporarily blinding him. He stopped his horse at the treeline as his eyes adjusted to the light.
The vast, hilly landscape overwhelmed the group. The plains stretched almost as far as the eye could see, stopped only by the Mountains of Farth. There was very little vegetation; grass was barely even able to grow in the harsh climate. Most of the ground was hard, cracked dirt. A climate shift had long since changed the steppes into a desert. Dedjik scanned his eyes back and forth, absorbing the sight. As if on cue, the wind picked up and blew a dust cloud off in the distance.

It didn't look like a picnick, they'd have to find a river or stream if they wanted to survive on the way through. Thankfully, river's and streams also often meant towns close by, and even a criminal wasteland has towns in it. He took the reins of the horse, and started heading north east. They still had a long way to go, and the steppes weren't likely to be kind to them. He could faintly see a cliff ahead, and it looked as though there was a white streak in the middle of it. He pointed it out to the others, thinking it might be water, and headed towards it.
An uneasyness settled over him during the ride, it seemed to him as though he was being watched, but he couldn't see his watchers. The land did provide plenty of opportunity to hide however, so he could easily be missing anyone wishing to prey on them. Inochi silently hoped he was imagening things, he was in no condition for a fight. His head still hurt and his limbs still trembled, he very much doubted he could even lift his sword in his current condition. He looked back at Dedjik, and made a sign to him, trying to convey that he thought they were watched. He was unsure if he got the message however. He leaned forwards and whispered into Sachio's ear, "I think we're being watched. Keep you eye's open." Movement flashed in the corner of his eye, but when he looked there was nothing. The growing sense of uneasyness threatened to crush him. __________________ "Where Dragoons meet, blood will flow, when they leave, time does slow."

If they were being watched they would have to be prepared to fight at any moment. The youngster was worried that Inochi might struggle to fight, though he was sure he would do his best.
As they continued on it became clear that someone was indeed following them. Whoever it was had become less bothered about hiding there presence. Occasionally the sound of rustling and twigs breaking could be heard from the thick strip of trees that lined the road. Kami rested his hand on his dagger, ready to strike if needed.
Suddenly an arrow hammered in to the ground infront of Kami's horse. Frightened the horse reared up throwing Kami to the ground. As he looked up at the rough mountainside that stood on there right a band of thieves could be seen clearly. Two of them were holding bows and three had melee weapons. It looked like the group were in for a fight after all.
"Guys! Watch out for those arrows!" Kami shouted trying to get the others attention before one of them got hit. __________________ λѕ wє wїиd ои đоwn тнё яоаd оur ѕђаđоωѕ таllэя тhаи our ѕόuls. тђєяє ώаlkѕ а lаdу wє all kиоω whо šніneѕ ώђітё Ііgнт аиd wаитѕ то ѕђоω hоώ єνєяутhіиg stіll тuяиѕ то gŏlđ. λnd іf yоu lїѕтёй νέяу ђаяd тне тuńę ŵill сомє то уоu ат lλst. ωђёй аll аяё ойє аnđ оnє iѕ аll то βе а яосk аиđ nот тō яоlє. Posts: 1,405 iTrader: (0) Default Dedjik cursed. Bandits were always annoying. The gunman dismounted from the horse and calmly loaded his weapon as an arrow hit the ground in front of him. Dedjik on the other hand, was feeling a bit more courageous. He pulled appart his swords, the shield sword in one hand, the explosion and shockwave swords folded together in the other. He kicked the horse to move forward while holding the shield sword in front of him.
Any arrow that came anywhere near the horse and rider were deflected as if they hit a wall. However, each arrow took its toll on Dedjik's energy reserves. With only three arrows blocked, he could already feel sweat on his brow. As soon as he reached the closest melee warrior, he turned the spell off, hoping that the other thieves weren't stupid enough to fire so close to an ally. Then again, they were bandits. They could have no guilty feelings shooting at a comerade.
Dedjik jumped off his horse and quickly brought both swords down on the thief. The thief was fast, though, and quickly brought up his own halberd , blocking the attack with the long shaft of his weapon. As soon as Dedjik's swords came off the halberd, the thief smoothly transitioned into a twirl above his head then used the momentum for a massive blow to the side. Dedjik ducked under the twirl then brought up one of his swords to block the attack, while thrusting with his other. The thief easily stepped to the side while pulling his halberd back, spun it around his body, then stabbed at the boy with the metal spike at the bottom of the weapon. Dedjik tried to dodge this one, but took the stab to his left arm. He let out a cry of pain and dropped the sword in that hand, but then brought his other sword around and into the thief's armpit, completely cleaving off the man's arm. As the man let out his own cry, Dedjik kicked him straight in the chest to knock him down, then finished the fight with a stab to the chest. __________________ "The ability to quote is a serviceable substitute for wit."-W. Bishies! YAY! Posts: 1,354 iTrader: (0) Default Sachio glanced round, saw the fight, and cursed illustratively. He pulled the horse onto an interception path and charged at the nearest bandit, pulling his dagger from his pack. Giving a blood-curdling yell, he trampled the startled bandit before leaping down and stabbing him in the back. The thief fell, not even able to cry out. Sachio moved onto the next enemy, working systematically - stab, dodge, underarm stab, kick and trip them up, stab - working himself up into a frenzy. He completely forgot about his surroundings, the landscape curving into oblivion as he worked towards the others.
Finally, an arrow caught him in his path. It bit into his side, reopening the wound there. This time Sachio had to pay attention to it. He gasped, clutching at his side as he stumbled and landed on his knees before the next bandit. The man grinned, holding his weapon down. 'Time's up,' he said gruffly. Sachio looked at him, terror filling him as he realised that it could all be over. __________________ Soon to come! A new manga webcomic from your very own Prof. Cinders! Win a Nintendo DS here! The bandit gurgled and fell over, twitching and soiling himself. Inochi looked at Sachio, "You really should pay more attention, those bloody arrows hurt eh?", he tried to grin, but could only lean on his sword. He was still bloody exhuasted from casting that damn spell.
Sachio took the opportunity to gape, and point at someone behind Inochi. Inochi raised his eye brow and turned around, and felt like gaping himself. Behind him stood a simply massive man, with a rather massive and menacing morning star. Inochi decided that he wasn't tired anymore, on the grounds that he liked being alive. The massive bandit raised his weapon and brought it crashing down on Inochi and Sachio, but Inochi had grabbed Sachio and jumped out of striking distance of the big man. He left Sachio there, to tend his own wound, and headed straight back for the looming bandit. He noticed respectfully that the man's blow had left a small crater where he'd struck, and firmly decided that blocking this guy's attacks would probably get him killed. So Inochi swung at him instead.
Inochi couldn't move the bandit far by any means, he was incredably strong, but the bandit was that much stronger. The bandit tired of defending eventually, and flung Inochi into a rock face. He grunted, then jumped aside as the morning star rearranged the features of the landscape. He sped forwards once more, dodging the attack meant to fend him off, and striking full on at the guys leg. It didn't come off, Inochi couldn't even get the blade to the bone in his current condition, but it certainly would slow him down. Inochi jumped off of the man's leg, taking his sword with him, before he got soundly smacked by the massive bastard. The bandit howled, a cold enraged thing, and hurled his morning star at Inochi, who only just blocked it, and flew back about 20 feet to land heavily on the ground. He gasped, holding his ribcage. "Oh ****," he moaned, "Something is definatly broken in there.", he scowled at the huge bandit, and picked himself up, ignoring the pain. He hefted his sword, staring at the bandit. He had no weapon now, he was defencless, and they both knew it. Inochi charged forward, and the huge man turned to run, but his leg stopped him, and Inochi's sword bit into his back, and burst out his chest, ripping out most of the man's ribs in the process. Inochi took a deep breath, pulled his sword out, and whipped it on the bandit's clothing, then went back to the horse looking for some food. Using his sword as a big cain. __________________ "Where Dragoons meet, blood will flow, when they leave, time does slow."

He watched as he plunged is weapon in to the brute's back and out through his chest. Kami was surprised at how little the blood, gore and killing bothered him. It seemed that even in the short time the group had been together his mind had been hardened against things that would normally make people sick. The life of a warrior was a hard one, it was a strain on the mind and the body. Often people lost sight of the things that were drummed in to them from birth. Killing is wrong, but what else can you do when the other person is going to end your life if you don't take his first?
Maybe that was just Kami's way of thinking, he had been brought up in a none violent surrounding. He had always thought of warriors as brutish, stubborn people. He now saw that they were deep individuals who fought to survive, not just for the sake of it. Now, this band of warriors had formed an alliance, one that gave them all a chance at helping other people. A chance at ending the reign of a tyrant who ruled with fear and aggression. Real warriors were a noble breed, the defenders of those who couldn't defend themselves. Kami was proud to be part of that.
Shaking himself from his thoughts, he turned his attention to Sachio. The wound on his side looked painful and blood was soaking the boys shirt.
"You need to bandage that up tight, if you don't stop the bleeding you could die and we don't want that." Kami said trying to make light of things. He then reached in to his pocket and produced the bandage from earlier. It was just long enough to wrap around Sachio's body enough to times to soak up the little blood that still escaped from the wound.
"Are you ok or do you want help getting to your horse?" Kami asked his wounded companion. Last edited by Pikachu : 02-05-2006 at 08:52 AM.

'We could probably take out the archers though, don't want our eyes out or something,' he added, pointing at the only visible archer from their position. He took up his weapon once more, grinning weakly. The young man had grown up under the watchful eyes of his father, the man who had shown his brother how to make and wield a dagger. As Sachio had been the youngest, he had not learnt how to use weapons, and had instead helped his mother with the cooking and other household chores. When he was old enough, he went to work in the mines, hating every moment - but his life had not been for the choosing, and he had to abide by the laws. Until they had been freed. Then the son of the daggersmith had been let loose with his father's favourite dagger and a pick, hardly favourable weapons, but enough.
Sachio went for the archer, intending to rip his head off if he had to. The man was quick, though, and quickly had several arrows flying through the air towards its target. Each one hit non-lethal points, and none bothered the boy. He continued his charge, so the archer pulled out a scruffy dagger, taking Sachio on close-hand combat. However, as the archer was not used to using a dagger, Sachio quickly gained the advantage and gave his enemy a quick stab underneath the ribs, piercing the heart from below. __________________ Soon to come! OOC: no chance in hell am I cleaning that up, so don't even ask! Anyways, we can now continue, one would hope anyways. I have to sent Prof and Andurin a note, but hopefully they'll be lured back. Same rules apply, if you want to join, you have to create a new character, not that powerful. And work your way up, blah, and please do recall that this is NOT planet earth. Enjoy, ^^.

Dedjik looked at the remaining bandits. The scratch on his arm was only a flesh wound. He would live. The neareset bandit, on the other hand, wasn't. Dedjik picked up his sword then advanced on the man when suddenly his left eye had an arrow protruding from it. The gunsmith looked at the source of the arrow, and hadn't been the bandit.
Standing a few steps behind the archer was a man with green hair that was fading back to its natural brown. The man wore a brown leather sleeveless shirt, covered with steel scales. He wore long pants of the same style as his shirt: leather with scales. On his hands he had normal leather gloves and bracers. The man stood in archer position holding a strange bow in his left hand. Its base was simply an ornately carved composite bow. However, on either end protruded a short blade. Steel scales were embedded along the outter edge of the weapon.
Taking advantage of the group's surprise, the man quickly drew two arrows and shot them at the gunsmith. One impaled the old man in the foot, the other missed completely. But the foot was enough; it would stop the man from moving at his unnatural speed. Three more arrows found their way into the gunsmith's chest.
The bandit slowly turned around to see what had happened. his friend was preoccupied with someone else, so who else could it have been? That was all he could think about before a flash of metal in the corner of his vision ended his life by slitting his throat. The man looked at the rest of the group, wary of their tenseness.
"This boy here and that gunsmith over there are both agents of Deiz," he stated. "They were here to watch you and kill you if anything were to jeopordize the empire. My name is Behudir Seranthad. That's all you need to know."
Behudir knew they were not going to trust him still. "Check their right shoulders. Wash it and the makeup will come off and you'll see the tatoo of Deiz's soldiers."

Shimiku Izuru, last of the Hyuuji Clan. Last of the true assassins. Deiz had taken her on as a young child, feigning sadness after destroying her hidden village, killing her family, and taking her way of life. In ignorance, she served him. The Imperial City feared her green eye’s, the green eye’s of death. It was a well known that, in the city, the Jade Raven could take you at any time, and she often did. But lately, Deiz had been slipping in his act. Letting things pass that would normally have been hidden from Shimiku. No doubt it was brought on by the Inochi crisis. Unknown to Inochi, his family had caused the Emperor a great deal of trouble, due to the power of his blood line.
Shimiku didn’t know much about the power itself, but she did know where his blood supposedly origionated. Outside of the wind wall in the ocean, for across Dirocha, where his familys origins, born from the legendary Beast, Kyuuso. A semi divine being of life. But, she also knew, that Inochi’s power had never awoken, even as the Emperor sent crueler and crueler tasks to the captured young man. It was assumed he’d never be a threat, but now he’d escaped. Deiz was in a rage.
Shimiku’s eye’s were opened because of that rage, because Deiz didn’t pay enough attention, and now she knew she was being used. Two days ago, she’d decided to leave Deiz, and go see why he was making such a big issue out of this Inochi character. Most-so, she didn’t like being used, and she hadn’t relished finding out the true cause of her villages demise. So she’d become determined to kill him, and she thought Inochi may be able to help her. She strapped her bouches onto both of her legs, and put her demon wind shurikan across her back. Pulling her purple and black clothing into place, she left her room and climbed up onto the top tower of the castle.
She didn’t have to expend a lot of effort to leave, no one really paid any attention to her comings and goings anymore. She stood on the edge of the tower, and her demon wind shurikan unfolded behind her, opening its full four blades. Focusing her thoughts and her energy, she fed it the energy it needed to fuel the spell held within it. “Fly!” She yelled, and jumped off of the tower. She fell several feet before the spell asserted itself, and propelled her forwards towards the horizon.

Sachio didn't notice Behudir. He wouldn't care even if he did. Instead, he was rather busy kicking an injured bandit's head in with his hard boot, trying to kill him in the most painful - and slow - way possible. Finally, the bandit's body shuddered as its life left it, and the boy could rest. He slumped back, sighing as he looked around and saw that the field was cleared. 'Is... Is that all of them?' he gasped, gulping down as much air as he could to revive his now stiff limbs. His dagger was slick with the blood of the bandits.

Kami eyed Behudir carefully as he began to speak. Ready to fight should the need arise. However, his voice held no ill tone, he appeared sincere. The young warrior raced over to the gunsmith's body, he turned him over, spat on his sleeve and used it to rub. Slowly the mark of Diez began to show, the very thought of what these men could have done turned Kami's stomach. He pulled the Gunsmith to his feet, blood pouring from his wounds. The gunsmith, with his very last ounce of life, looked Kami in the eye and smiled.
"Long live...." He whispered between sharp gasps for air and that was it, his life was over. Kami let go and the body fell to the ground, face forever twisted in that sadistic, knowing smile.
"How could we allow ourselves to be fooled? Behudir, I guess we owe you our thanks. I must ask you though, why help us? What importance are we to you or anyone else for that matter?" There was so much the boy wanted to ask. They were on the run so it made sense that Diez would want them imprisoned. Spying on them, having Dedjik watch them for so long, that did not make sense. Did the Emperor really see their small group as that much of a threat?

"I don't understand this." Inochi said. "He was with us from the beginning. How did they get to him?" Inochi walked over to Dedjik's body. "Now I regret forging that sword of yours." He bend over and picked up the folded weapon. "Its unfortunate, you were skilled with it." He sighed, and walked over to Sachio. "Looks like your going to be weilding a dead man's weapon, but its better than your current armament all the same. I assume you know its abilities?" He asked quietly.

'I learn quickly,' grunted Sachio, taking the weapon and examining it quickly before tucking it into his wide belt. 'It's much better than this old thing.' He tossed the pick away, glad to be rid of the inefficient weapon. Besides, the weight at his side seemed somehow right. By the looks of it, it was one of the best weapons around, too. Remembering his manners, Sachio looked up at Inochi once more. 'Thanks,' he said, honestly, attempting a smile that was spoiled by the blood on his clothing. 'So what do we do now?'

Behudir sat down and took a sip from his waterskin. He was silent for a minute after the barrage of questions then began to speak.
"It has been foretold that a group, very much similar to yours, would rise and overthrow Deiz, end the reign of terror, perhaps even clear the wall." He paused to let it sink in. "I watched while the ring of mages were prophecizing. The glowing lines of fate twisting through the air, the images flitting inside the lines that the mind could somehow still perceive, the words emmanating from everywhere and nowhere at the same time." Behudir didn't bother to mention how he saw the prophecy, but that was besides the point. He wouldn't say even if they asked.
"Myself? I'm against Deiz. And that's why I helped you." The archer took another sip from his waterskin before standing up and putting his bow on his back.

Inochi barely had enough strength left to lift his sword, but still, he hobbled over to the newcomer and leveled his blade at the man's throat. "Give me a reason I should trust you." He said, though not unkindly. "You killed a friend of mine, and I find that somewhat troublesome to think of." He said. "He was in the slave camp just like me, are you trying to say Diez predicted I would escape? Where did you get your information?"

Behudir moved only his eyes to quickly glance at the threatening sword tip, making sure not to make any sudden movements lest Inochi slip forward. He looked back up and into Inochi's eyes.
"Let's not be too hasty now, shall we?" he said, quite calmly for someone with a sword at his neck. "I've already said that prophecies are made. It's not too surprising that Deiz would know about it, since, after all, he's the emperor. He has people working for him whose only job is to report any word of dissent. And, he, like any other tyrant, wishes to keep his power, and he would thus not mind killing a few likely suspects, even if it turns out that the prophecy is false.
"Dedjik was, in fact, planted in the slave camp to watch you. He was probably only a spy, not an assassin, and that is why he never killed you. The Gunsmith, however, was an assassin. He was probably waiting to kill you in your sleep.
"I know because I've seen the Gunsmith doing his job. I know, for a fact, that he works for Deiz. Dedjik, I had seen walking out of the imperial palace and disappearing into the night before he was transferred to the slave camp."

I must inform both of you. We all have the right to critique each other's RPs, and to tease things we see as less than optimal/ not very creative. However, we do not have the rights to do it in a jerky manner. Balbanes, please use a little more tact. Prime, understand that he still has the right to critique RPs. That is all.

"Inochi, I believe him, it was all a little too...." Kami paused for a second. "..I dunno. Things just seemed a little scripted, they were never surprised by anything. As if they knew what was ahead. I think it's time we made a move, tired as we may be the cover of night would do us well." Kami said looking toward the setting sun as it fell just behind the trees in the distance.

"I still have more proof, if it's needed..." Behudir muttered. He didn't really want to reveal much more about himself, at least not at the moment, because he didn't trust the group much either. But if he needed to avoid conflict while going after Deiz, he'd have to resort to this.
Slowly, Behudir reached for his belt and pulled out a small gem. He held it up. "I wasn't going to tell you guys yet, but I know a bit of magic, specializing in conjuration, even though I'm a fairly low level mage." He closed his eyes and touched the gem to his forhead, which flashed for a few brief seconds. Behudir then but his foot into a nearby puddle, then dropped the gem into it. He muttered a few words, then the puddle suddenly contained not the reflections of everyone, but a reflection of the archer's memories.
The edges of the scene were blurry, but in the center was an Imperial Tower. The view was pretty much unobstructed, and the only things that were clear other than the tower was the road that led to it and the two guards at the entrance. A cloaked figure walked up the stairs and to the door, then lowered his hood, revealing his face to the guards. It was Dedjik. The guard nodded then opened the door for him.
Suddenly the puddle blacked out for a second, as if the recorder had blinked. Images once more swirled into focus, this time revealing what appeared to be a deserted bar. It was night out, so it was mostly dark, except for the few candles still alight. The room was in complete disarray; books lay on the ground, tables and chairs were splinters, and there were a few bodies slumped over various objects. The vision quickly focused on a middle aged man on his knees. "I don't have it..." he whimpered, when a gunshot rang out of the darkness, blasting off the man's arm. The room rushed to the side, indicating that Behudir had turned his head towards something else. When things focused, the Gunsmith stood there, an outsretched arm holding a smoking gun. "The Emperor is displeased." The Gunsmith shot again, and the scene shifted back to the man, who now had a large hole in his chest.

"Yet, I see a certain truth in your eye's." He lowered his blade. "For the moment, at least, I'll trust you. Though you have to understand, if you endanger us, even for a moment, I will have to kill you." He said levelly, than turned around and stumbled back to his horse, almost completely spent.
