I was surprised to find myself alive, after the accident. A little over two days ago, an explosion caused by free activists took out an Etheric Generator. I was to be held responsible for a system wide collapse, cause by that first generators deactivation. Over three hundred people died that day, and I could clearly feel the ether weakening as it spread out to cover an entire planet. Yes, I am responsible, for revealing Aquaria to the world.
My name is Primus, I am of the Wartech guild. My family name is Cryst, we are of the White Feather that plies the sky. Cryst is now a rogue house, and I am their captured leader. I am saddened, that things could not be resolved. However, our fates were decided. We cannot resist them.
________
All the major nations went wild, anxiety and stress ran high in thousands of rooms across the world, as satellites detected fifteen cities actually floating over the open ocean. Both Pacific and Atlantic cities were in evidence, and hundreds of smaller heat signatures around these cities worried everyone. Upon examining satellite photographs, they were determined to be Skyships. Ships as large, or larger, than aircraft carries, flying in the sky. They're electromagnetic signatures were unreal.
Everything from diplomatic entourage to locked on missiles surrounded the cities, trying to make contact and figure out what the hell was going on. Any ship, however, that broke a broadcasted 5 km distance from any of the cities, was destroyed by odd high velocity fighters. They emerged like hornets from the Skyships, and it took nearly a whole squadron of fighters to take out one of those odd high velocity skyfighters.
Slowly, large fleets from multiple nations surrounded the cities. Five km away the the cities, the gray steel of ships could be seen stretching around each one in a halo effect. The largest was in the North Atlantic, larger the New York, it was surrounded by the largest co-operative fleet man had ever dreamed of. But, despite all this, no one learned even the tiniest truth about the cities. That is, until rogue Skyships started breaking off from the cities fleets, and heading inland.
______
Primus stood on the bridge of the Tesserac, his escape having been effected a short time ago. The small frigate was really nothing to brag about, for Aquaria anyways. However it was speedy, and carried two fighterships, and allowed himself and his family to escape. His entire family, of 122 people, was stuffed onto that ship. He couldn't help but feel responsible for their situation.
Eventually, the ship reached an island on the southern tip of Greenland, and Primus have the order to set down. The Tesserac hovered over the island as the people disembarked, and several large crates dropped from its cargo holds.
These crates quickly popped open, and formed, with a combination of ether and nanotech, several small apartment buildings. A final, glowing golden box dropped, and unfolded itself into a large golden tower. At the base of the tower, several beams were fired into the earth. As the light and heat cleared, glass tubes could be seen extracting rock, metal, and raw material from the earth.
Primus nodded, "How is everything?" He asked Jenny, who sat at the pilots seat. "Looking good bro!" Jenny said brightly, she seemed to have taken to the new situation well. Like many, he didn't think she'd liked being trapped in the cities in the first place. "The Alchemists Tower is up and running smooth. We'll be able to generate factory modules through transmutation soon." She said, as her hand darted across the control panels.
Several spears shot from the Tesseracs hull, and into the ground. They were effectively anchored in place until the tethers were cut. "Lyol!" Primus called, walking across the bridge to stand beside his younger brother. "What have you found out?" He asked, Lyol shook his head wearily and keyed the monitor on.
Primus was shocked, weapons that Aquaria had never known the mainlanders had, had been used to knock down some of the ships that had gone rogue. The vast majority prevailed, but a few had fallen, enough that they're technology could be studied and copied. And perhaps enough that the mainlanders would learn Ethers use as a spell-casting entity. He doubted their capacity to create the Ritual Weapons however.
"In addition, several ships are headed here." Lyol said, gesturing to an echo response coming back from the sea. "We'll be in for some fun, if they happen to be hostile. If not..." Lyol looked at his brother cautiously, "I suggest that you treat them well. We have no allies here, we could use some." Primus nodded and patted his brother on the shoulder, "We'll just have to wait and see." He walked off the bridge, and ten quick minutes saw him flying out in one of Aquarias skyfighters, to meet whatever was coming to see him.
