Ryuu and Aya huddled down into the shadows as a massive war-machine trod past them. The two of them had been discovered by a research branch some time ago, and had been running ever since. They had more than enough power to smash anything that came after them, with a few exceptions. The current war machine was an exception, as it broadcast an energy signal that caused their demonic vampire power to desert them in close quarters. So they hid, Aya's great pride breaking, and Ryuu sweating profusely, whenever they found themselves hunted by the massive walking war machine.
They'd heard it called a Dreadnaught on several occasions. Ryuu shook his head as it passed, and looked carefully around to take stock of the situation. They had fled to an old Aztec ruin, which had been somehow re-inhabited with a pretty varied crowd of people. Geneticists, Researchers, Black Market Merchandise, Shady Doctors. The place was mixed up and confused, and had more than a few significant mystics kicking around, stirring things up every now and then. Ryuu didn't mind them, Aya thought of them as below her, so the setting didn't bother them much.
The problem was the hunters, they never gave up, and they were persistent to a flaw. Both Aya and Ryuu were soaked in sweat, frustrated, and dirty. Their clothing was torn, soiled, and in Ryuu's case, missing huge sections altogether. He smelled, strongly, so did Aya, they tried not to talk about it. Ryuu had a sword, emphasis on had, the bastards had managed to snag it back when he was running at some point, and it was hard to keep a handle on his power without it.
His honest, overall outlook was that things weren't looking so great, and the fates conspired to prove him correct at that very moment. A flash of blue energy decended right behind Ryuu and Aya, blowing up in a massive explosion and taking their feet out from under them in a moment. Lying on their backs, dazed, they gazed up at the two people responsible for their further misfortune. "Hello," One of them said, with a strange metallic kind of voice. "Sorry about that, my name is Joshua, who are you?" He asked politely, reaching down to help Ryuu and Aya up. Ryuu was of the opinion that he should have fallen, as he pulled the vampire and the ghoul up, but his hand felt remarkably solid, and it was apparent he was a lot heavier than he looked.
"It's ok I suppose, where did you come from?" Ryuu asked, trying to remain polite and reign his temper in. "I'm not actually sure," Joshua answered, "But you might try asking him." He said, gesturing to the man beside him.
Bub@'s Post Below
Galen was scratching his head, feeling a painful headache, trying to regain his senses. He heard Joshua talking with some other people, trying really hard to identify their form and shape. He felt the anger on the man's voice, of something they had done, even though he still had no idea as he was barely getting a feeling of his surroundings.
Galen sit down, turning his head around, eyes closed. He closely inspected the whole place, watching the crowds of people around him, asking to himself in what freaking place they ended up. There was technology he'd never seen before, and outfits that did not resemble anything any person that had every been in his hometown wore. 'Am I even still in Tyr?' he thought, now looking towards his new, metallic companion, speaking to two different figures.
"Me? How should I know? I thought you were the one who brought us here" Galen said, further scratching his head, slowly standing up. "I'm sorry for whatever we did, but honestly, I have no idea how we even got here" he apologized to the two persons standing next to him.
Galen tried to remember how he had gotten to this point, and remembered the sudden disappearance of his "short-lived" companion, Prime. Suddenly, he turned around to Joshua, and filled with anger, screamed at him "You... what did you do with Prime? Where is he now!?"

"Well, he certainly wouldn't be here. Not now." A figure said, seemingly seeping up out of the shadows. He walked up to the group with a dark smile, his red and grey gaze seemingly glowing as he approached them. Dark shaggy hair with just a hint of a blue sheen hung low, almost over his eyes, and what appeared to be a gigantic orange gem was strapped to the back of his left hand. A long package, resembling a spear wrapped in paper, was tied to his back with several bands that looked like white leather with something written in a foreign language in golden ink on them. His pants and top were both made of rather abused looking denim, with muddy hiking boots on his feet. "In fact, this is all that's left of him..." The man stared at the group, fixing them with his gaze. "He died a while ago, in a battle with some mages. I took this as a souvenir after getting revenge on his killers." The man's hand went to a rather innocent looking pouch that was hung around his neck, and pulled the bag down, revealing its contents. A very human looking skeletal right hand, wired together with what appeared to be silvery strands, was suspended by a hole drilled through its wrist. A faint, bluish light shone from it, seemingly coming from inside the bones. "Oh, and by the way, my name is Abatis." The man added as an afterthought, dismissively tucking the macabre remains away again. OOC: Yeah, Abatis should not be trusted. But he can be a very helpful man, too.

"Strange, that shouldn't be possible." Joshua said curiously, looking at the slightly glowing hand. "Why?" Ryuu asked, curious. "The Prime this young man here is screaming about, was human." Joshua said, "And was accidentally killed by a sentient tree, which then created this body as a sort of apology." He said, then pointed at the skeletal hand. "But that Prime wasn't a thing of evolution, it was a being beyond normal existence composed purely of energy." He arched his eyebrow, then shrugged. "Unless I miss my guess that man is carrying the eqivilent of a rather antimatter reactor."
Ryuu cringed, Aya just looked at the hand haughtily. "It was bad enough we're being chased, now we're standing next to a nuke." Ryuu said, Aya just shook her head, scowling. Joshua turned to Galen, "Prime isn't dead, he's just changed." He shrugged. "I think its time we all introduced ourselves in any case. I'll go first, I guess. My name is Joshua." He said, waving. Then he pointed at Ryuu, "Ryuu, and this is Aya." He said, gesturing towards the girl huddled beside him. They were both still teenagers.
Joshua nodded, "This is Galen Wing I believe?" He asked of the young man. "And I believe you said you were Abatis? Good to meat you." Joshua said, nodding cordially. "Shuuuush!" Ryuu voiced, "I may have forgotten to mention this. But Aya and I are kind of being hunted by a lab of mad scientists. Little less noise please." He said, keeping his voice low. He only hoped they would do the same.

OOC: In case anyone wants to take a look at it, here a link genesisfantasy.proboards78.com/index.cgi?board=onlinerp&action=display&thread=4 with the first topic, as I might (or might not) be using some references here. "Yes, I'm Galen Wing. I am pleased to meet all of you, I'm sorry we bursted out of nowhere so suddenly." Galen said in a very low voice. Galen put both of his hands in the back of his head, sitting down in the middle of the room, enduring the painful headache. Everything was just passing too quick for him, with the sudden "teleportation" to this place, plus the fact that he had just recovered from a great blood loss seemed to have messed him up a little really bad. Galen couldn't even make a comment on Prime's "change", as his sight was greatly blurred with every passing second. "I need some medicine. Joshua, I'm not feeling ve-..." Galen said, before collapsing onto the floor, completely loosing consciousness. As he lay on the ground, a small injury on his head could be seen, and blood was slowly dripping out of it. OOC: Sorry I couldn't post earlier (and I didn't add much), but I'm approaching finals, and will be busy this week and the next. So, for the meantime, I figured I might at least not be stopping any posts.

"Believe you me, this hand is the least of your worries. I've got it so wrapped up in magicks that I couldn't accidentally trigger it in a thousand years." Abatis flashed a devilish grin. "And I am rather amazed to hear of root of his power... That information was VERY hard for me to come by." Abatis's smile remained sinister, his inhuman gaze enhancing the effect.
"Pleased to meet you all. Hopefully we can remain allies through whatever the coming turmoil is." Abatis nodded affirmatively. "I'll stay quiet. No reason to raise my voice-"
"That is, unless one of our new buddies keels over randomly and I need to heal them." Abatis sighed, kneeling to examine Galen's injuries. His right hand immediately went to Galen's chest, resting there with a subtle glow.
"Not much that I can do. It's a combination of a weak negative feedback to a spell and being beat up in the first place." Abatis sighed. "I can't heal him for a while. That could make him allergic to positive energy, and essentially a zombie for the purposes of healing... That'd, quite bluntly, suck." Abatis growled, standing up grudgingly.

"Oh hell," Ryuu said, looking at the unconcious man angerly. Aya's eye thinned, and she spoke up for the first time. "You know we should just leave him behind." She said quietly to Ryuu, and he nodded. "But you aren't going to are you?" She asked, and he nodded again. She bit her lip, and rested her head against the wall. "Dammit, this would be so much easier if you were a Vampire." She said, Ryuu shook his head. "I know, I'm sorry. But I am who I am, we both accept that."
He picked Galen up, and turned to Joshua. "I see you, under that fake skin. Perhaps you can tell me where we can hide this fellow?" Joshua pointed, and a short distance away, they could all see a small stone door that lead lower into the ruins. "In addition, someone seems to be scanning this area." Joshua said, "Whoever is chasing you, is quite intent on capturing you." Ryuu cursed, and shared a short worried look with Aya.
Being powerless wasn't unfamiliar ground for Ryuu, but for Aya it was the worst humiliation. He doubted she'd ever been helpless in her life, she'd even refused to let him die, despite his 'glaring flaws' as her eye's saw it. He shook his head, and moved away from Joshua, carrying Galen. Aya followed quickly, a highly annoyed expression on her face. Joshua shrugged towards Abatis, "Shall we follow them then?" He asked casually, though his voice still carried a faint buzzing sound."

"Ugh... what happened" Galen said in a very soft voice, realizing he was being carried by Ryuu. "Ryuu, I'm okay now, I think I can walk" he said. Ryu put Galen on the ground, and while leaning onto the nearest wall, Galen slowly regained his balance as his senses stabilized.
"Guys... I feel like we are being watched. It's like someone's looking for us but I don't feel them nearby" Galen said, growing a little worried and shivering a bit. Joshua nodded and told him how they were scanning them. "Were are we going now?" he asked, as Joshua pointed over to a stone door, leading into some kind of ruins.
Everyone started walking again, careful not to be making drastic movements so they could avoid the scanner. When they got close to the door, however, they found out it was sturdier than it look, and as Ryuu tried opening it up, it simply didn't bust.
"This door is very thick" Galen said, touching the door with his left hand. "Maybe if we-" he said, before completely stopping dead. He turned around to look at Joshua, and saw a great amount of energy concentrating in his stomach. Joshua, however, remained silent, and just slowly knelt on the floor. Two seconds later, this familiar sight of energy concentration clicked for him - Joshua was about to explode.
"Everyone! Run! I think Joshua is going to explode!" Galen cried, turning around as quickly as he could, and sprinting with all his remaining strength. Everyone else did the same, running far away from the now glowing Joshua.
Joshua exploded, sending a force of energy and shrapnel around 300 feet around him. The explosion blasted through the stone door, leaving nothing but rocks and metal on the ground. Huge chunks of what was once Joshua were scattered all around the place. Everyone seemed to be okay, lying on the ground, mostly covering their heads.
"Is everyone o-" Galen cried, before stopping in mid sentence. He could hear a great amount of footsteps quickly running towards them. "Damn! Everyone run towards the ruins! It's those scientists!" he cried, already hearing the first gunshots go past by him. He stood up, ready to sprint again, but he fell towards the ground, rolling once towards a near wall.
As he touched the back side of his right leg, he felt a great amount of fear and desperation - a large metal shrapnel was halfway piercing through his skin. He screamed in pain and desperation as he realized he could not stand up.
OOC: Ugh, over two months to post. And a crappy post nonetheless. I'll have to brush off my skills once again guys, I'm really sorry about that. Not really sure this is what you wanted Prime, but... oh well hahaha.

Ryuu hauled Galen onto his back, making tracks for the now open corridor. He made a quick gesture at the largest remaining piece of what had once been their companion. Aya looked reluctant, but she still scooped it up, and headed through the corridor after Ryuu. Sliding to a halt just inside the door, Ryuu picked up a smaller piece of Joshua from the floor, and chucked it over to Abatis.
"I'll think about doing something for him later, but for now I think that's the kind of trinket your fond of. Feel free to keep it, assuming you can get us out of here." Ryuu said, taking a two step back and ducking as a bullet winged him. He brushed off the wound, which healed slowly before their eye's, then took off down the tunnel again.
Aya rudely ripped the shrapnel out of Galens leg behind Ryuu, and quickly tied some cloth around it. Tightly. The bleeding quickly stopped, though that was more from lack of blood than congealment. Ryuu decided to wait a few minutes before restoring blood flow, so the wound could at least scab over, and restrict most of the bleeding.
Ryuu burst out of the end of the corridor, quickly skidding to a half in a small stone room. There was nothing in it, besides a small window. He paced over to the window, and stuck his head out. Bit of a long drop, but he and Aya could certainly survive it. Only issue was, the window wasn't large enough, and that suppressor device would soon be in range again.
"Any suggestions?" He asked the room at large, "And please, nothing blatantly moronic." Aya added.

"Okay, then," Abatis simply smiled upon hearing the news, and brought his hand with gem up to his face, "It's not often I get an excuse to do this!"
Bringing his right hand up to seize his left wrist, he threw his weight forwards. His red eye ignited, glowing so brilliantly so as to obscure his face in its light. The gem sparked, and a fountain of translucent orange errupted from it, meeting the concussive wave of the blast. The force of the explosion was shunted to either side of him, clearly a problem for his allies, but not for himself.
"Come on! Really!" Bits of shrapnel flew at him, disintegrating or melting before they could even come anywhere near him. One large piece of jagged metal punched through the barrier, only to have Abatis clench his fist more tightly. Like that, at the same moment, the core of the debris disappeared, leaving only a loose chaff of glittering metal where the threat had been. Abatis sighed deeply, and lowered his hands.
"One consequence of power is that there's no such thing as challenges beyond a certain point," He turned his left wrist, wiping the gem clean on his shirt. An awkward gesture, almost as if he couldn't use his right hand to touch it. He then took the remains in his hand, and indeed, began grinning.
"Technology isn't my taste. If just anybody can use it, it has no distinction. Still, remains make it so much easier to reconstitute somebody. I suppose that if we can find a spot where we could rest, I could try to fix him up for you," Abatis seemed not to care about the approaching scientists, simply walking away from them slowly. A bullet struck him at the base of the neck, merely splattering into a jagged remnant upon collision.
"Do you honestly think that I would be so easy?" He smiled, and snapped his fingers, instantly disappearing. He knew that it was a one-time bullet ward they had broken, but any lapse of a facade of invincibility was invitation for attack. He reappeared alongside the group, glaring at the portal.
"I'm not really sure, honestly. I can easily magick myself down there, but as for you three..." He shrugged. "Of course, I could blow out the entire wall here, if you give me a bit of time."

OOC: Just for clarification, what did you blow up? I don't recall mentioning the supernatural suppression device's location. But yeah, if you blew it up, Aya and Ryuu could just rip the damn wall off and throw it at their pursuers... Actually those two are more likely to drain their pursuers.

Of course, I could blow out the entire wall here, if you give me a bit of time. He's offering to blow down the wall himself. He doesn't know what the suppression device looks like in the least, I think. And my earlier explosion was a counterattack to our buddy going boom. I wrote it a bit late for that, but it's much more Abatis than ducking and covering. EDIT: For clarification, everything before that line about challenge takes place during the Joshsplode. Then I react to the scientists, and instead of running, teleport to catch up. Only my last lines are uttered in the small room.
