Throw your bubble mix to the floor, hoping it turns into smoke.
Somehow get soap in the dog's mouth, detering it. Alternately, somehow get tobacco in the dog's eyes/nose, detering it.
ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK. She took your pipe!
Throw the dog at her in a sudden burst of strength.
Punch the dog. Make some attempt at witty banter. Fail at both.
Try to calm the dog down. Use your innate French charisma.
Try to calm the woman down. Use your innate French sex appeal.

I'm surprised by how combatative these last couple rounds' worth of suggestions have been! And here I thought I was going to be able to get away with making an RP that has a real plot, excitement, rising suspense and a sense of high stakes without needing to include any fight scenes!
It... It was going to be kind of unlike Ish, in that way

Well, Pohatu, when faced with Situation 1:
there are really only two clear alternatives:
Alternative A:
Or, Alternative B:
Oh, where is it...
*banging noises* Saw it here just... oh, footballs.
*clanging and banging*
Ah, here we go!
I mean... what else do you do in that situation?
Surely you're not considering... diplomacy?!

Punch the dog on the nose to establish dominance.
Punch Channery in the nose to establish dominance in the ensuing diplomatic showdown.

Tell her what you know.
Ask to use the water closet.
Lapse into uncontrollable bouts of French; unshaved armpits, cigarettes in little holders, black and white horizontal-striped shirts, black berets, general hygiene issues, the works.
Ask for a glass of water. Or cognac.
Ruffle your feathers. Accuse her of thievery and try to blackmail her into sexual deviancy.

Imply that you have more grenades, and not the smokey kind.
Say that you read it in her police file. They're onto her, and anything she does to you will only make her case go worse.
Declare yourself to be a fan of hers.
Suggest that you're actually a mindreader. Or that Mickmack told you.
Suggest that it was written on some possession of hers.

Tell her part of what you know and pretend not to know the rest of the details or
Tell her part of what you know and let her assume you know much more.
Then distract her and attempt to remove the fire extinguisher.
(Sorry if these made it in too late. I've been finishing up a couple things, plus it was the fourth. Now on to other duties)

The latest. For the curious... (don't read this until after that) So! Remember this post, which gave early visual introductions to both Renard and Channery? Well, you notice how I said that one of the new characters was alluded to in that flowchart thing? That was Channery. That little bit about "the ability to instantly return to their grasp any object which they have ever picked up and left a handprint on"? Yep. Channery. So theoretically, by backtracking to these topics, a reader could have solved the mystery of the burgled Boullogne at least as early on as Channery's visual description in the security footage, and maybe even as early on as her first appearance outside Albarello if they were really good. Oh, and also, this is a Renard thing instead of a Channery thing, but notice how I also said in that Photugraphy post that two of the characters introduced there had also been mentioned in the Chumhandles topic? One of those was Renard. Take another look at the list and see if you can find his chumhandle. Hint: It's the one both of whose words start with "R". And are French. And together indicate a unusual or obscure manner of storytelling. Sort of like a story told by taking reader suggestions. Yeah. I kind of really plan ahead.

you kind of made it obvious what with all the mentioning a sweet power where someone could teleport anything they touched several times.

I had figured on Channery the moment we saw the footage. Before that, I was figuring on an early Rogues and Brogues heist, considering the firepower they've got (Helen, Rhys, possibly Blaise, Terrian, etc.). I had amused myself by coming up with a dozen different ways that Blaise could do it on her own, but I forgot some of them.
Suggestions: Reveal the camera to be full of explosives. Walk away in slow-mo as Channery goes boom. Make some quip about how her power was a one way street.
Offer to trade the camera for the Boullogne.

Ask her what she intends to do with you.
Implore her to let you go. Use your perceived ineptitude to your advantage.
Ask if she'd like her portrait taken.
Engage her in photography-related conversation.
Ask if you can smoke.
Find that the water has caused an awkward bladder-related issue and ask to use the bathroom. Void yourself and escape!
Piss all over yourself if she says no. Ask to use the bathroom to clean yourself. Escape!

The camera goes off! Channery is blinded! APPREHEND
Ask what she wants with the Boullogne.
She can't possibly hope to sell it herself, and she's certainly not the art collecting type. Who is her employer?
What's with all the pictures of stuff in her house?

The latest.I was going to do more with this post but I figured hey might as well pace myself a little since the one before it was so gigantic. So then I thought this post was going to be quite short and it turned out not to be, it just ended up being not gigantic. Or at least less gigantic. I don't even know.

Ask to go with her. Give up your detective work for a glamorous life of crime with your young squeeze.
Ask if you can take care of doggy while she's gone. You're old and lonely and destitute.

The latest. It's a piece of shit post. Not sarcasm. I think I was expecting to get all the way through this story without ever coming to hate it the way I've on-and-off hated Ishkabibble for months now, but that was a dumb thing to expect. I have no idea how I thought I was going to pull off any of this mountain of little answers gracefully. This is the clumsiest, most contrived post I've put together in a long, long time. In case it wasn't clear what Renard should do right now, he should be focusing on his original goal of returning a portrait known as Le roi Midas by Bon Boullogne to the Ecruteak Gallery of Art.
