Years had passed. It seemed like an eon ago that Hayato had first started his adventures in this world. He had been a human teenager with no more than a gun and wanderlust a few short years earlier. That past seemed so distant. The memories of that time were to him, like a dream that one knows happened, but can't quite recall. He remembered flashes of summer sun and the buzz in the humid air in the days he first met Gary, Cassandra, Lee...others. That time, although perilous , was better. Better because there was a defined goal, a loyal warband, and a vigor of the heart.
But it all fragmented, as things tend to do with age. Their strength grew, but their dedications waned. The friendships they had established slowly melted into the murky pool that is memory, and their ambitions were lost.
Not since the second clash with the Overlord Shivasu had Hayato's circle of friends been entirely complete. His own strength had grown immensely since then, and he had seen Cassandra, Gary, Lee, and everyone else at different times for different reasons. But now the reuinions were always because of peril, and not because of friendship. Hayato had never been very social, but he did enjoy company. He just never showed it. Now, even as he was quite literally a god walking the earth, a part of him missed his younger, simpler days.
------
A stormfront rolled slowly across the ocean, as wide as a continent, made of crimson clouds the size of mountains that crackled with white bolts of lightning. Epic claps of thunder boomed from the blood-colored sky as the front made landfall. The earth quivered and the heavens parted. Hayato descended through a gap in the clouds, with the grace and majesty that only a god could exude.
As he touched down, he surveyed the landscape that seemed dull to him now. Once, this vast plain would have inspired awe in him. Now, he regarded it as nothing more than a segment of a planet he could easily burn to nothingness.
Hayato's physical body was similar to the one he had possesed formerly. His hair was now geniunely the stark red he'd always dyed it. No longer was it short and spiked, but long enough to hang over his eyes. Icy grey eyes were now more piercing and bold than ever. His body was still that of a professional athlete, but paler and completely barren of the scars he'd collected as a warrior. His clothing now consisted of loose black pants and shirt, with a billowing red robe encompassing it all. Despite these differences, he was still recognizably Hayato.
Raising his right hand, he launched a pillar of flames high into the air, one that would branch in every direction and be visible around the world. Anyone who'd ever known or seen of Hayato would be able to recognize it. Hopefully, they would understand that it was a beacon. A call for help.

Sunset. A daily occurrence that takes away the light and brings the night at every place on earth, and any other planet for that matter. It was only caused by light being scattered. Such a regular and normal phenomenon, yet so fundamental to life. So beautiful, yet still forgotten or taken for granted. Ender laid back and just watched the sun slowly lower itself. He loved this time of day. The sky danced with hues of reds and oranges, and soon, the sky would darken enough for the stars to shine.
The psionic was on his house's roof to get the best view with minimal traveling. He watched the sun sink below the houses near the horizon. Ender's enhanced eyes, with the covering of his hand made shades, were the only set that could actually watch the sun directly without any damage.
The bright reds and oranges continued to color the sky. Suddenly, it was all interrupted by a pillar of fire cutting through the air. His senses picked up more heat signatures farther off flying across the sky, all of which seemed to be branches off a 'tree'. Ender wondered and the answer came to him almost instantly: Hayato. Hayato was the only person that he knew of that had the power to create pillars of fire like that, especially so wide spread. But why? Hayato wasn't the type to just show off like that. It seemed to be a call, specifically for those he knew.
Without a moment's hesitation, Ender jumped off his roof and landed lightly on the ground. He went inside his room, through on his coat, grabbed his revolver, then started to head out. As he started to shut the door, a drawer flew open and two bottles of aspirin quickly whizzed out and into the psionic's hand. He took three, concentrated on the center of the fire tree, then teleported.
Ender reappeared about twenty yards in front of Hayato. "Hey Hayato. You called, right? Oh, nice outfit, by the way..."

Hayato was surprised to see Ender as the first to answer his summons. The two had cooperated before, but never had a very personal relationship.
"Ender," Hayato nodded to him. "It's good to see you've kept yourself alive in this dangerous world. I'll explain why I need help when more people arrive."
He looked out over the plains again as he continued, "Which, by the way, if you know how to contact anybody who can stand their ground against the horrors of an alternate plane, you should probably get in touch with them. We're going to need a lot of help."
His robe shuddered in the wind as he spoke, his face emotionless and his body still.

"Kept alive? Heh, really, I haven't seen much going on lately. I've heard things here and there, but I've been out doing the whole wandering gig. You know how it is, since you were a wanderer in the beginning. You never really see the world changing, dangerous events when you're living by yourself..."
Ender couldn't have read Hayato's emotions, even if he wanted to. Hayato had apparently gotten more power in his time away, and, like most warriors, his emotional waves were kept tightly within himself. Most people poured out empathic waves into their surroundings almost like an upside down water pitcher, but those who were disciplined managed to instinctively keep their emotions under control and hidden. Ender couldn't have felt Hayato's surprise. But mainly, he had come because Zebedee was a close friend of the two.
"I really wish I could contact anyone, but I haven't seen that many people since I came back. Lee... er, Zebedee has been out on his own, and I can sense that he's still alive because his mental print is practically burned into my mind from all the time I spent with him. But if he's not responding to your pillar of fire, then he'd probably not respond to a telepathic message. Hopefully Zeb and the others will turn up."

"I can contact people, just tell me who you want." Cassandra said calmly, the air appearing to shiver as she teleported beside them. She turned, "Ender." She said in greeting, not waiting long enough before turning to face Hayato, her face changing from anxious to a flicker of anger becoming visible behind her emerald eyes - In many ways she hadn't changed a bit.
"Where have you been?" She asked, her voice not reflecting the emotion that was plainly visible, but at heart she knew that Hayato was a wanderer, she doubted that he would ever settle down to one place in his life. He didn't rely on the sense of security of knowing his surroundings the way she did. With a sigh she visibly calmed down, to simply ask, "So why have you come back?"

Hayato's eyes fixed on Cassandra for a time. He wasn't surveying not her physical body, he knew that well enough already. He was trying to get a read on her emotional state. Anger had flashed over her eyes for a brief second...and anger that he didn't quite understand. He decided he could ask about it later.
"It's nice to see you again, Cass. I was expecting a somewhat warmer welcome, but whatever," he said smiling. His tone became a bit more somber as he said "I have been on a different plane of existence. I figured out how to do that, you know. Planeswalk. It almost killed me the first couple of times, but now I've gotten better at it."
His voice was now totally serious and grim, "And that's part of the reason I've come back. There's trouble brewing on another plane. I want to diffuse the situation before it gets too big for us to handle."
"Where's Tearah?" Hayato asked abruptly.

Cassandra looked surprised for a moment, it had been so long, and she'd been so busy lately that Tearah hadn't even crossed her mind.
"Tearah's....I have no idea. I haven't talked to her in ages..." Her voice trailed off as she telepathically pushed her thoughts to Tearah, trying to locate her, but it was taking time.
"I don't know where in the world she could be... But I'll get her here eventually if you'd like...But in the meantime, what IS the situation?" Cassandra looked curiously up at Hayato, it was obvious that something had changed about her, but it was evident that she was keeping it to herself.
There were a few moments of silence, and Cassandra stood somewhat awkwardly, not particularly close to either Ender or Hayato, she focused on finding Tearah, but she seemed to be in her own little world - isolating herself from the world around her, just like the old Cass had been, only this time she seemed to be at peace for once, her anxiety farther beneath the surface.
"Alright Alright I'm here already, what do yall want???" Tearah appeared suddenly, her hair shining golden as always, her eyes just like Cassandra's. She had grown, she was taller now, more shapely, although not the same as Cassandra. Her care-free appearance, although more mature, was still the same Tearah she'd always been.

OOC: Suspended comp priveliges bite. To put it briefly.
BIC: Zebedee sat still in the cool green of the tree, a leafy canopy circling him all about. Nothing of the outside world filtered through to his senses except for peaceful birdsong and the brisk wind. Greenish light cast its hue on all of present beneath the verdant ceiling, making the scene seem almost otherworldly. A warm smile touched Zebedee's lips as he began to slip into peaceful slumber...
His eyes snapped open as the light shining through the trees turned a brilliant shade of orange. He jumped free of the branches, catching himself on the forest floor. As the twigs snapped, Zebedee already began following the pillar of flames with his eyes. "What's going on here?" Zebedee muttered, fumbling with his fledgling beard. He pulled a torn fragment of leaf from his beard, and continued looking back and forth along the cosmic column.
"That way?" Zebedee said, walking along the forest floor. Teleportation gaves him fast transit when he knew where he was going, but in the conditions he was under, his speed was far more mundane. He kicked a few sticks, and continued through the forest, ducking branches and sidestepping trees. He drew his racquet, slashing through the smaller trees in his path. The column, judging from its condition when it passed over him, had been generated quite a distance away.
Zebedee felt the tingle in his brain... That sudden knowing that came from a telepath planting information in his mind. So... It was Hayato, and his location had been precisely pointed out be the ever helpful Ender. Zebedee smiled, teleporting to the group in the blink of an eye. He appeared behind Ender, hovering continuously.
Green sparks flew in the wind as Zebedee's billowing clothes and hair danced in it. "Something odd afoot?" Zebedee queried, stretching his back. He hadn't changed very much since the last time he had met the others, his face looking slightly older and his hair and beard longer, but otherwise the same Zebedee they had always known.

Hayato looked at Zebedee, (or Lee, as he would always call him). "I was waiting for you before we began. It would be nice to have more people come with us, but I think we're capable enough."
"As I said earlier, I found that I can now Planeswalk. While experimenting with this once, I ended up in a plane a lot like ours, so I stayed there for a while. While there, I made a discovery. The details of how I found this out aren't really important, but what is important is what's happening on that plane."
" Essentially, we have to go on a rescue mission. A mass rescue mission. Bring back hundreds of people, and things. You know. So get whatever you need. We'll leave shortly."

"Going across dimensions, eh?" Zebedee muttered, brushing the hair out of his eyes. He paused, remembering the few trips he had been on... The battle with the Andalites, the crushing rejection from the girl he loved, the earth plunged into hellfire... It seemed that this was the ideal world despite its flaws. "I'll come too. My powers make it easy for me to keep up." Zebedee twirled his racquet in his grip, the blades whistling in the wind. Zebedee's aura burst into golden sunlight, lighting the area and warming all present. '
