...... Well its been since the 22nd of Sept that we had a new day start, I know this has been a less intense and long winded mafia, but seriously its a bit of a p take.

To be honest, it's a situation that is a first in Mafia history.
Once I post the morning sequence, there will be two players left. One mafia, one not. Both with equal vote strength. So I've been postponing and delaying, trying to think of a fair way to do this.
Photu suggested just calling it "A loss on both parts, killing them both and calling tie game.", while I've been leaning most towards having both state their case, and then having the rest of the townspeople do a survivor style "Return from the dead and vote."
Of course, either one is unfair in its own way. The first means that the whole game was a shaggy dog story, and the latter means that the Mafia has a distinct edge, since they only REALLY need to sway like two people with their argument.
Of course, there's also the "Post Race" option of "Whoever votes first, lives." But yet again... It's hard to figure out a tie breaker without seeming like you're giving one side a free victory, or robbing somebody.

My suggestion was more along the lines of "arresting them both on trumped-up charges", not "killing them".
But how about whoever's accumulated fewer votes for them over the course of the game wins? Did we already discuss that possibility?

Because that's basically picking who wins. Likewise with the "Post Race" method. One ensures one wins, the other, the other.
So, I'm thinking, maybe a coin flip. Heads, innocents win, tails, Mafia wins. It's as fair as anything else, no? Actually, I'm thinking I might do that. Post the day, and then do a coinflip for the night execution twenty four hours later. It's suitably dramatic, and I'll have a witness to verify I didn't cheat.

Coin flip is the most cop out way to resolve this.

I'm for declaring it a tie. It's been fought up to a stalemate, so it may as well be declared as such.

I'm with blood on this, it is a tie. In this situation, the two remaining people would either beat the crap out of eachother, or both just say a job well done, and the mafia guy kills the innocent that night. *shrug* What can you do?
Hmmmm, well, I guess since its pokemafia.... You could assume the person with the type advantage would win the fight, and declare it their victory.

Or... I guess what we could do is everyone who doens't know who is who decides whether mafia or innocent gets heads and then flips the coin.

How about we create a new topic, and we all agree on a specific time. Like, exactly noon eastern time, or exactly 2 pm central time, and then at that time, we all rush to post 'Bang' into the topic. Or only the remaining two, but basically like a duel. So whoever's posted the fastest is the one who lives, and since they're both on the same clock, doing the same thing at the same time, its pretty fare.

I'm all for the type advantages thing coming through...
Or an RP style battle using their chosen elements

Look, Lee, if you never come up with a good way to resolve this, why don't you just call it off and post everyone's type choices and alliances? I'm really curious and I don't want those questions to linger forever.

I still say just declare it a tie. Mutual Victory if it makes you feel better.

'Kay, well, I'm just gonna move this back to the inactive section. Any time you want to post types and alliances, Lee, go ahead.

I thought the general consensus on a Mafia "tie" was that Mafia won because even if no one gets hanged in town hall, Mafia just kills that last dood at night.

But then that's not a real tie either.

That's why there are quotations around "tie"

I know, but I still think that it should be a real tie.

And you all realize the issue here. If I declare the Mafia winners, I rob the innocents of a hard fought last second-save victory. If I declare the innocents winners, I negate the INCREDIBLE strategy play of the Mafia, which bar two exceptions, were absolutely masterful puppet masters this time around... And if I call a tie, it robs both.
Eh, screw it. I'm calling this a full-on tie. At least that's the fairest, and robs everyone equally. Expect the results and conclusion this Saturday night.

Remember how you were saying that you couldn't pick victory based on one factor, like which of the two members had fewer votes against them throughout the game, since you already have the knowledge of whom that factor would favor? I think in the future, ties like this should be taken to a poll in which a handful of factors like that are listed, and we the uncomprehending audience vote for what seems to us to be the most appropriate factor. You know? And then you reveal the winner based on that.

Well, I lose the ability to play Mafia right off the bat, so this doesn't really rob me of anything.

I'd still give it to Mafia. Last second saves get screwed over a lot in competitions anyway. While impressive, they're more "oh hay, we got lucky" than "we knew what we were doing all along."
