Has anyone have any excellent budgeting advice? Or even an excel template for figuring out a budget? I moved into a new place, and want to pay things off really, really fast... but I'm not sure how to budget money very well... Thanks in advance!

www.mint.com/My best friend uses that to see how she spends her money on a monthly basis. She hasn't been screwed over, and neither have her friends, so I assume it's safe. As far as actual budget advice goes, you're not allowed to have fun unless you want to eat. At least until you get your tax return or until your parents send you cash.

HA! That's pretty much how it goes right now. I have a budget template now, and a registrar tha I am using with excel, has all these fancy numbers and projections, that I made up. Well, it isn't THAT cool, but it certianly is nice.

Alternatively, you can stop eating and have fun. Or sacrifice fun and eating for more work hours and then binge after you've amassed a surplus.
I tend to do the latter. It doesn't work very well and I have to call the parents occasionally.

You should totally check out Dave Ramsey. He's this guy who created the Financial Peace University, *and*, he's stationed in Tennessee, which makes him cool(ish). He's got a Facebook and a Twitter to follow, and he's got a website. He's all about figuring out budgets and junk.
I bummed a bunch of the course's materials from my mom (not that it does my jobless self any good...*sigh*), but all you should really need is the book. It's called Financial Peace, there is a revised edition too, and you can probably get either for pretty cheap if you look in the right places.
Good luck!

You need to try some good alcohol with its appropriate food. Like wine and cheese, beer and sausage/burgers, etc.
