Interesting fact - originally everything Pohatu posted was [image] to me but after I read the pages in question on the actual Gunnerkrigg Court website they now show up for me.... curious... Which btw is amazing... I am sad though.... I have already caught up Oh, too bad. I know, I've never been more sad to finish an archive trawl than with Gunnerkrigg Court.

Lee, I can see it, although that girl looks a little more... I don't know. Hebrew? Anyway, I'm very intrigued by that page. Tell me more about the webcomic.
Choobs -- who's doing it? Can you link us to the artist?

The webcomics on the site, really, aren't much. It's kinda like if R. Crumb watched a Burton movie and liked it. But that's just a page from a dialogue free twenty page story. And it's pretty good. www.rosettastonecomic.com/

It's actually one of my close IRL friends that's doing it. She's super talented. You know the Bulbagarden contests? And how there was an art one? She was the one who won that. I'm trading her food for drawing, haha. Here's a link to her Deviant Art. I'd show you the in-progress of Vieve, but it might be bad luck or something. But if you don't feel like following a link, just to show how talented she is, I'll post this: . She did that FACEBOOK GRAFFITI WTF

Just use one of those insulated bags like they deliver Pizza in and you'll be fine if you over night it.

Holy hell! That's totally friggin' awesome!
How much was that commission? I must know, because I am now setting aside monies to get the Fallfish trio done. That is some awesome drawing, right there.
(I also really should beat photobucket into accepting Kevin's picture of Achenes... Then we'd have awesome drawings of all the people in Kaida that stayed with it for more than one page, since Rho/Hig and Masumi also have illustrations that are pretty rockin')

Well my initial offer was lunch, but then I changed it to $25. I'm her first commission client, and I have BFF-discount, so she's not actually sure what to charge for a commission. I might've given her too much because I'm nice, or too little because we don't know.
Anyone happen to know what the average commission would run?

Depends on the level of skill, and the fame of the artist.
I'd say, looking at the job that she did with Vieve, that $25 wasn't a bad amount to pay, though that may be a tad bit too much for my blood right now.

Most artists would charge 50 - 80 dollars for a piece of work like that, so that's one hell of a bff discount. Personally I'd only pay around 35 - 40, but the demands of the market allow artists to raise their prices, and if you don't want to fork it over...to bad. Lol.

Yeah, wow, I'd have charged more than $25 for that. I applaud the artist. Make her join.

Personally, I think a commission would depend on the medium used. A program would warrant a smaller amount of monies than an ink an paper/painted/etc. one. Then again, I don't hire random artists. All the commissions I've ever gotten were from friends of mine and I tend to pay them more than they ask for.

I dunno anything about Baccano! (at all.) But it seems, if anything, like what would happen if somebody put Photu in charge of an anime. Especially Jacuzzi, who's pretty dang close to the mental image I've always had for Terrian.

I deleted the first one. But yeah, my connection has been on the fritz as of late. Keeps saying it dumped my post, but they go up anywho.
And I meant Jacuzzi looks like Terrian, well, if you got rid of that huge tatoo thang.

Hmm. Wow. That's... pretty damn awesome. Thanks, Lee. Commencing research into what Baccano! is: now. Does Jacuzzi look like Terrian would if he were an anime character (minus tattoo)? Well... Yeah. F*ck yeah. That's a yeah. So congrats Lee on finding the definitive anime Terrian (without the tattoo, okay). In other news, Chane Laforet (the dark-haired girl who pulls the dagger out of the wall) also looks a lot like my mental image of Rie. I'm pretty sure Choobs might have stated Rie to be blonde but fuck that shit, Rie is dark-haired and Natalie is blonde in the wondrous world of Pohatu's head. Also, funnily enough, Nice Holystone (directly between Chane and Jacuzzi) is kinda Blaise-y, minus the eyepatch and plus some sleeves. And Czeslaw Meyer (the boy playing cards near the end) is what Rhometer would look like if he cleaned up his act and dyed his hair brown. And Luck Gandor looks like someone but I don't know who. But the conclusion is that this looks hella sweet!

Yeah, Rie is blonde, though that facial expression on Chane is about spot on. This is Rie's main influence in terms of physical appearance, though: Fack, I want to say Rie has green eyes, but I forgot D: PS. I need to find out about this anime.

Hahahaha I'm watching the first episode. Jacuzzi's first scene is him limping by complaining about something hurting.
I think we found Terrian.
PS. oh hey, the next scene has negative-Rie.
PPS. Ok, yeah, I agree, Chane is pretty much Rie with dark hair. I'm not judging based on the episode, because her scene is all of 3 seconds long, but yeah. The intro sequence makes her look right. We will see if she has the personality to match.
