He had long since stopped attempting to find books in common libraries. The pursuit of knowledge was no simple task for him. Knowledge suchs as physics or history was of little interest. The true knowledge, the knowledge to give him power was what interested him and what he sought out wherever he could. Instead of the mockeries that these common libraries were, he had turned his sights to the unknown ones, hidden behind illusions and spells, monsters and guards, the libraries that held the knowledge he desired. However, even those libraries could only help so far, so he had turned to other sources instead.
Araini, however, still visited the unknown locations. The ancient tomes, the fading scrolls. Relics of a long-forgotten age, hints towards the future. There was always something else that could be learned from them, no matter how small. The odd forgotten line or misread word. Some small piece of information that could still be found. Sighing slightly, he closed the book he was holding. The book in question was one of the few that he could not learn anything from. Despite his intelligence, he could not decipher the riddles and codes inside. The magical tome that changed with each reading. It was a mystery to him, but he had an instinct that it would help him immensely. There had to be another way to gain the information contained.
He tried one last time, opening the book to see if he could make sense of it. Already, he had tried to enchant the book, dispel the magics, but nothing hard worked. Flipping through the pages he looked at the images and unknown text, looking for some common features or anything he might recognise. There was nothing. He turned the page and finally, after the countless hours of looking at it, he noticed something. It was written on common, everyday English.
"Araini, look for the Creator."

Alex sat on his seat, the black throne in the guest room of his tower. However, he was not there to entertain guests for once. It was the only room he used to contact other people, using the various magics of the room to allow communication. In front of him, there was a ghostly image of a person who's face was hidden in shadow.
"Well, looks like you were right, Alex," the image said. It was a male voice, sounding confident but concerned.
"Of course," Alex replied, brushing a few strands of aqua hair from his fringe. "Their movements are no longer random. It seems that it was a test of their power at first."
"There's no fatalities though," the image noted. "In fact, not a single injury. Nothing. It looks like, at the moment, they're not even trying to hurt anyone."
"And the locations?" Alex asked. The ghostly image raised a hand and scratched the back of its head.
"That's just it. All they've done is steal a couple of items, and not even interesting ones," the image explained. "So far, they've stolen an oak tree, water from one of the towns, some oil and a cat. Feel sorry for the cat more than anything."
"What an odd combination..." Alex commented, smoothing his clothes. "Is there any link between the locations?"
"Nothing I can figure out. It seems random, but the last few raids haven't actually taken anything. A bit of property damage, but that's it. You have a point about it not being random though. They're doing loads of raids in certain areas. Its like they're looking for something."
"Very well. See what else you can uncover about this," Alex said, standing up.
"Don't tell me what to do. I don't work for you," the image replied coldly before ending the connection. Alex frowned slightly, then exited the room. The situation would require a more hands-on approach. After a quick outfit change, he clicked his fingers and teleported out of his tower.

Araini appeared in a city, melting into view in a back alley. No one was around, thankfully. The words from the book were still very vivid in his mind, but he could not make any sense of them. Who was the Creator? And why was this message left for him? He had taken the book with him, hiding it in one of his many magical containers that were immune to any sensing abilities.
He had come to the city in order to think, and he did his best thinking when he was doing magic. Finding a nice spot in the middle of the pathway on the main shopping street, where no cars were allowed, he began to concentrate. A magic show for pedestrians and shoppers, simultaneously allowing him to gather money, think and entertain people.
OOC- As an entry point... Well, you can do pretty much anything you want. You can meet Araini, or you can be in some random city, or whatever. Anything's good
The plot will pick up fairly quickly assuming people join.
